BELMONT - Carol Elaine Groner Cody, 50, 205 Nixon Road, died Sept. 6, 2000, at Presbyterian Hospital Harris Hospice Unit in Charlotte. She was a native of Mecklenburg County, East Belmont Baptist Church, choir soloist, attended Winthrop College in Rock Hill, S.C., where she sang in the women’s choir, sang with Charlotte Oratorial Choir, before her illness she worked with CTG Systems in Charlotte as administrative manager.

Faye Waldroop Snead
MOUNT HOLLY - Mrs. Faye Waldroop Snead, age 73, passed away on September 6, 2000, at her home surrounded by the love of her family. She showed relentless courage and faith during her long battle with cancer. She made everyone she touched a better person. She was encouraged and strengthened by all the prayers, visits and calls and countless acts of kindness toward her and her family. She was very blessed to have such strong support from her church family. She was a native of Gaston County, wife of the late Thomas "Bill" Snead, daughter of the late Allen Oscoe and Lila Lowe Waldroop. She was retired from American & Efird and a member of First Baptist Church, Mount Holly. She was preceded in death by her brothers Oliver Waldroop, Gene Waldroop and Rueben Waldroop. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Danny A. and Carolyn Snead; daughter and son-in-law, Cindi and Bobby Laughlin; grandchildren, Clay and Dana Snead, Clint and Cindy Laughlin and Phillip Laughlin, all of Mount Holly. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Mount Holly with burial to follow in Hillcrest Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday night from 7-9 p.m. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 300 S.
