O.C. and Lottie Buff Fortenberry, graduate of Lincolnton High School, received business administration degree from Catawba College, Salisbury, worked in Charlotte and Shelby with a CPA firm for six years, opened Fortenberry Accounting Service in 1964, retired in 1989, served three years in the Navy as a radio operator aboard the Destroyer Escort USS Borum DE 790 which escorted destroyers into Omaha Beach on D-Day, member of First United Methodist Church, Honorary Steward, member of Carolinas DESA, VFW, American Legion, Masonic Lodge 137, honorary member of Lincolnton Rotary Club, past secretary-treasurer of Lincoln Industries Inc.
