He was a native of York County, S.C., son of the late Idus Theodore and Susan McCarter Reece, retired superintendent after 52 years from Burlington Industries, Mayflower Plant, Cramerton, graduate of Cramerton High School, member of Cramerton Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Sunday school teacher, Sunday school superintendent, served as Clerk of Session, retired as Elder Emeritus, active in Cramerton community, participated in and coached Cramerton athletics, member of Cramerton Kiwanis Club, Lunch Bunch Golf Association, past president of Cramerton School PTA, delivered Meals on Wheels.
