SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Dr. Benjamin Lewis "Benny" Allen, 87, 312 Summitt Hills Drive, died Oct. 4, 2000, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Enoree, S.C., son of the late Joseph W. and Cecilia Minkey Allen, husband of the late Miriam Munday Allen, graduate of Wofford College and the Medical University of South Carolina, pursued post graduate medical training at Charity Hospital, New Orleans, and Mary Black Hospital, Spartanburg, practiced medicine for 50 years in the Spartanburg community, active member in the American Academy of Family Practice, served in the Army Medical Corps in Britain during World War II, served in the Civitan Club, member of First Presbyterian Church of Spartanburg.
