LINCOLNTON — Luther Henry Kiser, 77, 2174 Salem Church Road, died Aug. 23, 1999.He was the son of the late Luther and Rhoda Jane Rash Kiser, worked for Cronland Building Supply prior to his retirement, World War II Army veteran, at Pearl Harbor during the Japanese bombing, participated in the invasion of Guadalcanal in the northern Solomon Islands and the liberation of the Phillipines as a member of the U.S. Army 25th Infantry Division, awarded two purple hearts, four bronze stars and a good conduct medal.
