He was a native of Gaston County, son of the late Forrest F. and Eunice Stroupe Allen Sr. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, retired from Ford Tractor, educator with the Lincoln County School system, farmer, served as a Lincolnton Alderman for 12 years and served in the Army as a pilot during World War II.

He was a native of Gastonia, son of the late John Milton and Doris Reid Burgess, formerly employed with Spartanburg Water Systems, Roebuck Builders, Hoechst Fibers, choir member, deacon, Sunday School teacher, director at Morningside Baptist Church, chairman of the 50th Anniversary Committee, chairman of Long Range Planning Committee, served four years in Naval Security Group, former member, president and district governor of the Spartanburg Lions Club, Lion of the Year in 1984-1985, received Melvin Jones Medallion from Lions International in 1986-87, active in United Way of Spartanburg and Mobile Meals volunteer.

He was a native of Laconia, N.H., son of the late George and Olive Randlett English, brother of the late Leroy English, educated in Portsmouth, N.H. schools, graduated from Portsmouth High School, served in Europe during World War II, 100th Division of Company B, 397th Infantry Regiment, received Bronze Star with oak leaf cluster and other decorations, enjoyed fishing and photography, former brick mason, contractor, built the granite flag memorial at the Samuel Moore Dam Reservoir in Littleton, N.H.
