He was a native of Robersonville, son of the late Andrew and Bettie Britton Roebuck, brother of the late Roger Roebuck, retired vice president and general manager of Myers Oil Company after 47 years of service, member of First Baptist Church, president of Welcome Men’s Bible Class for many years, received the 50-year award for active service with the United Commercial Travelors (UCT) organization.

She was a native of Cleveland County, daughter of the late William A. and Etta Viola Rudisill Farris, graduate of Cherryville High School, Lenoir Rhyne College, attended various summer schools, taught piano and organ lessons during her teaching career, retired school teacher from Gaston County schools after 44 years of service, member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, organist, Sunday School teacher, active in Women’s Missionary Society, served four years as Young Women’s and Deaconess Secretary for Women’s Missionary Society of United Lutheran Synod of North Carolina, charter member of Cherryville Music Club, Tryon Resolves DAR Society.
