Wilbert Horne
ROCKY MOUNT - Wilbert Horne, 58, a native of Rocky Mount, died Oct. 20, 2002 at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
Horne was the son of the late Jesse and Mary Horne, who resided in Rocky Mount.
Horne attended in Rocky Mount and graduated from Howard University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology.
Survivors include two daughters, Monica C. Vaughn of Lawrenceville. NJ and Briana Horne of Williamston; four sisters, Jessie Griffith of Williamston, Jean Allen of Elizabeth City, Willie B. Wimberly and Willie Mae Price, both of Washington, DC; one brother, Jonnie L. Horne of Rocky Mount, a grandson, Michael Vaughn of Lawrenceville, NJ and a special friend, Chenay Costen of Sunbury.
Linwood B. Jordan Sr.
Owner of Gates Poultry Farm
CORAPEAKE - Linwood Britten Jordan Sr., 61, a native of Gates County, died Oct. 27, 2002 in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Jordan was the owner and operator of Gates Poultry Farm. He was a member and deacon at Oak Grove Christian Church, a graduate of the Specialized Poultry School of the Ag Business Institute, a member and officer of the North Carolina Egg and Poultry Assn., a member of the Southern United Egg Producers and had received CHC Leadership and Achievement Awards in 1974, 1975 and from 1980 through 1994.
A funeral was held Nov. 30, 2002 in Oak Grove Christian Church with the Rev. Garrett
Lewis and Rev. Gene Asbill officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gates County Rescue Squad or to the American Cancer Society.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Greene Jordan, two daughters, Lynne Rountree and Cindy Harrell, all of Hobbsville; a son, Linwood B. Jordan Jr. of Eure, a sister, Jean Koch and a brother, Roy Jordan, all of Virginia Beach, and nine grandchildren.
Louise P. Bunch
SUFFOLK, VA - Louise Parker Bunch, 90, a native of Nansemond County, Va., died Nov. 3, 2002 at Obici Hospital in Suffolk.
Bunch was a homemaker and the widow of C. Earl Bunch. She was a lifetime member of Cypress Chapel Christian Church and the Nettie Harrell Bible Class.
She was the daughter of the late Cornelious Parker and Alexinza Riddick Parker.
A funeral was held Nov. 6, 2002 at Cypress Chapel Christian Church with Dr. John Kimball officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Cypress Chapel Christian Church, Family Life Center, 1891 Cypress Chapel Road, Suffolk, Va. 23434
Survivors include two daughters, Eloise B. Byrd of Sunbury and Edna Earle B. Carter of Suffolk; three sons, Richard Earl "Dickie" Bunch of Driver, Va., Dan P. Bunch of Boulder City, NV and Fred Allen Bunch of Nashville, TN; 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Wilson Rascoe Jr.
GATESVILLE - Wilson Rascoe Jr, 85, a native of Gates County, died Oct. 30, 2002 at Pitt Memorial Hospital.
Rascoe was a retired farmer and a member of Lebanon Grove Baptist Church.
A funeral was held Nov. 3, 2002 at Lebanon Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Lycurgus Harrell officiating. Burial was in the Rascoe Family Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Odessa Rascoe of Gatesville; four sons, Eugene Rascoe of Edenton, Ralph Rascoe Sr., William Rascoe Sr. and Lindberg Rascoe, all of Gatesville; two daughters, Marion Harvey of Gatesville and Vivian Rascoe of Charlotte; four sisters, Hattie Mae Hurdle of Sunbury, Lucy Langston of Gatesville, Nellie Sakil of Plainsfield, NJ and Patricia Maness of Farmington, Ct.; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

HOBBSVILLE - Eutha Myrick Wilson, 74, died Nov. 1, 2002. A funeral was held Nov. 8, 2002 at Blanchard Grove Baptist Church.
Elizabeth Liverman
GATESVILLE - Elizabeth Liverman, a resident of Down East Health and Rehabilitation Center and a native of Tyrrell County, died Nov. 7, 2002.
Liverman was the widow of Eddie M. Liverman and a member of St. John Community Christian Church in Roduco.
A funeral was held Nov. 10, 2002 at St. John Community Christian Church, Roduco. Burial was in the Liverman Family Cemetery.
Survivors include five daughters, Betty Parker of Gates, Martha Farrow of Eure, Laura Bond and Theresa White of Eure and Dolores Eure of Gatesville; a son, Albert Liverman of Hamilton, NJ; 26 grandchildren, 51 great-grand- children; eight great-great- grandchildren.
Ida R. Hobbs
CORAPEAKE - Ida Mae Riddick Hobbs, 96, a native of Gates County, died Nov. 4, 2002 at Nansemond Pointe Convalescent Center.
Hobbs was the daughter of the late James Washington and Mary Jane Trotman Riddick. Hobbs was a homemaker, she was a member of Eureka Baptist Church, its Women's Missionary Union, and its Young at Heart Senior Citizens Group.
Hobbs was married to Walter Ray Hobbs and later to Wade Hampton Hobbs.
A funeral was held Nov. 7, 2002 in Eureka Baptist Church by the Rev. Cameron Currin. Burial was in the Riddick Family Cemetery.
Survivors include six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great- grandchildren.
Patricia A. Bazemore
COFIELD - Patricia Ann Bazemore, 55, a native of Hertford County, died Nov. 12, 2002 in her home.
Bazemore was the daughter of the late James Elbert Sr. and Ruby Daughtry Bazemore. She attended Bethlehem Baptist Church.
A funeral was held Nov. 14, 2002 in Bethlehem Baptist Church by the Rev. Bob Skeens. Burial was in the Bazemore Family Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to University Health Care Hospice, P.O. Box272, Ahoskie, NC 27910, or to Bethlehem Baptist Church, 1024 NC Hwy 561 East, Ahoskie, NC 27910.

HOBBSVILLE - Eutha Myrick Wilson, 74, a native of Gates County, died Nov. 1, 2002.
Wilson was the daughter of the late Raleigh Myrick and Fannie Daniels Myrick. She was the wife of Ulis Wilson of the home [sic].
A funeral was held Nov. 8, 2002 at Blanchard Grove Baptist Church with the Elder Quinton L. Jordan Sr. and the Rev. Charlie Moore officiating. Burial was in the Wilson Family Cemetery.
Survivors include five daughters, Bessie Saunders of Sunbury, Christine Brown of Danbury, Conn., Beulah Johnson of Waterbury, Conn., Florence Hurdle of Winfall and Judy Jordan of Hertford; two sons, McKinley Wilson of Eure and John Wilson of Elizabeth City; five sisters, Margie Jordan of Hobbsville and Alberta Moody of Gatesville, Doris Wilson of Corapeake, Nancy Smith of Gatesville, Doris Wilson of Corapeake, Nancy Smith of Gates and Geraldine Ope of Bronx, NY; a brother, George Myrick of Gatesville; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Clarine J. Winslow
BELVIDERE - Clarine Josie Winslow, 78, a native of Perquimans County, died Nov. 5, 2002 in Down East Rehab Center, Gatesville.
Winslow was the daughter of the late Mary Lizzie Chappell and Jesse Thomas Winslow. She was a member of Sandy Cross Baptist Church.
A funeral was held Nov. 8, 2002 in Swindell Funeral Home Chapel in Hertford with the Rev. Vern Gilmer officiating. Burial was in the Winslow Family Cemetery.
