Arlige Holmes
High Point - Arlige Lee Holmes, 87, of Triad Manor died April 14, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.
He was born in High Point on Dec. 30, 1912, a son of Thomas R. and Mary Auman Holmes. He lived in California for several years where he worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. He was of the Jehovah Witness faith and was married to Linnie Katherine Peck, who died Dec. 29, 1976.
Surviving are a son, Donald Homes and his wife, Vinette, of Montgomery Village, Md.; a sister, Bonnie Loflin of Virginia Beach, Va.; a brother, Billy H. Holmes of High Point; a sister-in-law, Ellen Homes of High Point.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday in the Harold C. Davis Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation is 10 a.m. Thursday until the service hour at the funeral home.

Lloyd Joyce
High Point - Lloyd Andrew Joyce, 68, of 422 E. Peachtree Drive died April 15, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.
He was born Dec. 20, 1931, in Stokes County, a son to Claude England and Bessie Dillon Joyce. He was a self-employed fabric distributor, an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling. In 1967, he married the former Dorothy Dupree who survives of the residence. He was preceded in death by two sons, David Allen Joyce and Jerry Wayne Joyce; two brothers, James Curtis Joyce and Smithwood Henry Joyce; and a granddaughter, Lindsey Turner.
Surviving are a daughter, Lorrie Turner and her husband, Dewey, of Madison, Va.; two step-daughters, Tran Jones and Gigi Wombles, both of Enterprise, Alab.; a sister, Mary Lou Joyce Tuttle of Archdale; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Funeral is 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point, with the Rev. Bobby Coving.
Visitation is 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Dosia Motsinger
High Point - Miss Dosia L. Motsinger, 97, of 201 Greensboro Road died April 14, 2000, at the Presbyterian Home.
She was born Feb. 18, 1903, in Davidson County, a daughter of Charles Dixon and Mary Elizabeth Stanley Motsinger. She had been a resident of High Point for the past 30 years and had retired from the Department of Interior, Civil Service Division in 1962. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Surviving are 15 nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
She requested that her body be donated to the Wake Forest Bowman Gray School of Medicine.
Sechrest Funeral Home in High Point is in charge of arrangements.
Tim Passmore
Jamestown - Tim C. Passmore, 33, of 5854 Riverdale Road died April 15, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital after a long battle with cancer.
He was born Feb. 10, 1967, in Guilford County, a son of James Coyett and Carolyn Williams Passmore. He was employed with Marsh Furniture Co.
Surviving are his mother, Carolyn Williams Passmore of High Point; his father and step-mother, James C. and Wanda Passmore of Butler, Tenn.; a half-brother, Jamie Passmore of High Point; a step-sister, Jessica Passmore of Butler, Tenn.; and his paternal grandmother, Eula Passmore of Topton.
Funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Bales Memorial Wesleyan Church with the Rev. Harold Bumby and the Rev. James Grant. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point and at other times at the residence and at the home of Mrs. Carl Young, 5311 Leonard Road, Jamestown.
Curtis Sexton
Ft. Myers, Fla. - Curtis Eugene Sexton, 46, of 8898 Bristol Bend, Ft. Myers, Fla. died April 14, 2000.
Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced by Cumby Family Funeral Service of High Point.
Ola Underwood
High Point - Mrs. Ola Frances Hicks Underwood, 95, of Wesleyan Arms Nursing Center died April 14, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital. She was a former resident of 399 Shady Lane and had also lived at High Point Manor for three years.
She was born June 14, 1904, in Thomasville, a daughter to William Allison and Dora Myers Hicks. A resident of High Point for 50 years, she was retired from Underwood Paving and Grading Company where she served as treasurer. She was a member of Hilliard Memorial Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for more than 30 years in the children's department. In 1923, she married George William Underwood who preceded her in death on May 5, 1979. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Howard Hicks, William Jesse Hicks, Oscar Reid Hicks and Roy Lloyd Hicks; and a sister, Opal Hicks Shaw.
Surviving are five children, Lloyd William Underwood and his wife, Helen, of North Fort Myers, Fla., Doris Lowery and her husband, Claude, of Forest City, Ruby Surrett and her husband, Clif, of High Point, Betty Taylor and her husband, Vernon, of Gastonia and Robert S. Underwood and his wife, Barbara, of High Point; a brother, Benjamin Dallas Hicks of Thomasville; two sisters, Lola Mae Bodenheimer and Leona Hicks Stevens, both of Thomasville; twelve grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Hilliard Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Barry B. Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The body will be at the Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point and will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
Visitation is 7 to 8:30 tonight at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Clif and Ruby Surrett, 603 Rockspring Road, High Point.
Pallbearers will be Harold C. Surrett, Jr., Lloyd Underwood, Jr., Christopher Underwood, Keith Lowery, Steve Carter and Russ Wright.

Greensboro - Michael Cadet Young, Jr., 38, of 1209 Old Dam Road in Liberty died April 14, 2000, at Moses Cone Hospital.
He was a member of Glenwood Friends Meeting and the American Welding Society. He was employed with P. Lorillard Tobacco Co. and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
Surviving are his wife, Penny Hughes Young; a daughter, Kristi Lynne Young, of the home; a son, Jeremy Michael Young, of the home; parents; Michael and Virginia Young of Greensboro; his mother-in-law.
