J. Cranford Sr.
Thomasville - Juan Cranford Sr. of 407 Eddinger Road went home to be with our Lord May 2, 2000.
He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to all who knew him. He was born June 19, 1931, a son of Christopher and Della Lanier Cranford, who preceded him in death. He lived most of his life in Thomasville. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Korean Conflict. He was retired from Heirloom Furniture Inc. in High Point. He was a member of Wellspring Community Church. He also was preceded in death by four brothers, Laughton, Richard, Dewey and Bobby Cranford; and two sisters, Vionna Cranford and Pauline Surratt.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ann Wilder Cranford, of the residence; two daughters, Mrs. Olivia Jacoby and her husband, Barry, and Mrs. Juanita 'Nita' Hartman and her husband, Donny, of Thomasville; two sons, Tommy Cranford and his wife, Robin, and Juan 'Buddy' Cranford Jr. and his wife, Sheryl, of Thomasville; three sisters, Mrs. Iva Surratt and Lola Mae Cranford, both of Denton and Mrs. Stella Hunt of Thomasville; two brothers, Olin and Don Cranford, both of Yadkinville; 10 grandchildren, Scott Hill, Chandla Thrift, Nita Swink, Adam, Lauren and Jessica Cranford, Jerry Hartman, Barry Jacoby Jr., Michael and Ross Jacoby; six great-grandchildren, Hunter Thrift, Carlie Swink, Taylor Jacoby, Heaven-Leigh Hartman, Corey Hartman and Braydon Jacoby; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at J.C. Green & Sons Chapel by the Rev. Joel Smith and the Rev. Genna Grogan. Burial will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-9 tonight at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
Memorials may be directed to Brenner Children's Hospital, c/o Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Medical Center Blvd., Winston-Salem, N.C. 27157.

Baxter Pratt Jr.
High Point - Baxter Pratt Jr., 60, of 525 Walnut St., died April 28, 2000 at High Point Regional Hospital.
He was born March 3, 1940 in Morgan, a son of Vaxter Pratt Sr. and Lucille Wall Pratt, who both preceded him in death. He was an employee of Synder Paper Co. as a truck drive and janitor. He also was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Pratt.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Jean Pratt of the residence; five sons, Vaxter Pratt Jr., Christopher Pratt, Earl Pratt, Matthew and Dericka Pratt; five daughters, Ms. Melaine Pratt, Ms. Evonne Pratt, Ms. Tangela Pratt, Ms. Deshawn Pratt and Ms. Vaness Emiohe of Charleston, W.Va.; five brothers, Lacy Pratt, John L. Pratt, Jean Pratt and Roy Pratt, all of Candor, and James Pratt of Boston, Mass.; four sisters, Lula Mae Chambers of Star, Doris McGhee, Lucille Pratt and Sammy Pratt, all of Biscoe; 19 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two aunts, Mrs. Nellie Capel and Mrs. Mary Cole; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. today at Hargett-Gilmore Memorial Chapel by the Rev. Charles W. Capel. Burial will be in Carolina Biblical Gardens. Visitation will be at the residence.

Eva Skeen
Thomasville - Mrs. Eva Lee Lambeth Skeen, 73, died May 3, 2000, at Mountain Vista Health Care.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Holly Hill Cemetery.
Family Funeral Care is in charge of arrangements.

William Wagner
Lexington - William Monroe Wagner, 84, of Ridge Road died May 2, 2000 at Sunbridge Nursing Home after declining health of two years.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Bethesda United Methodist Church. Visitation will be 6:30-8:30 tonight at Davidson Funeral Home.

Ruby Watson
Southmont - Ms. Ruby Jean Cotton Watson died April 30, 2000.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church, Salisbury. Visitation will be 1:30-2 today at the church.
Surviving is a sister, Dorothy Jones of High Point.
Rowan Funeral Home Salisbury is in charge of arrangements.

D. Welborn Sr.
Thomasville - Dewey Lee Welborn Sr., 100, of 655 Tower Road died May 2, 2000 at his residence.
He was born July 24, 1899, in Davidson County, a son of Charles Elwood and Martha Jane Briles Welborn. He retired from Thomasville Furniture Industries. He was a member of Oak Hill Memorial Baptist Church, Bible Class, a former deacon and also served on the building and grounds committee. He married Ocia Hughes Welborn, who preceded him in death in 1985. He also was preceded in death by two sons, Dewey Welborn Jr. and Bobby Welborn; and a brother Carl Welborn.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Doris W. Hayes of Thomasville; two sons, Charles Woody Welborn of Thomasville and Joe F. Grooms of Lexington; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday at Oak Hill Memorial Baptist Church by the Rev. Gary Myers. Burial will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The body will be at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Visitation will be 7-9 tonight at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
Memorials may be directed to Oak Hill Memorial Baptist Church Building Fund, 1793 Tower Road, Thomasville, N.C. 27360.
Members of the Bible Class are asked to serve as honorary pallbearers and should meet at the church at 2:40 p.m.

W. Don Andrews
Franklinville - William Donald Andrews, 67, of 426 E. Main St. died May 3, 2000.
Funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Franklinville. Visitation will be 7 to 9 tonight at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur.

Margaret Brock
Archdale - Mrs. Margaret H. Brock, 78, died May 4, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.
She was born Oct. 17, 1921, in Cheraw, S.C., a daughter of Melvin and Daisy Roberta Teal Henry. On Aug. 11, 1941, she married Walter Edward Brock, who preceded her in death May 4, 1992. She was a homemaker. She also was preceded in death by her son, Myron Brock.
Surviving are two daughters, Ann Byerly of Archdale and Linda Ludwig and her husband, James, of Trinity; a son, Charles Brock of Edinburg, Va.; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Etheline Cash of Rockingham.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Sechrest Funeral Service, Archdale, by her grandson, the Rev. Keith Byerly. Burial will be in Brock Family Cemetery, Chesterfield, S.C. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home.

Beulah Callahan
High Point - Mrs. Beulah Malone Callahan, 87, of 4738 Chestnut Drive Ext. died May 4, 2000, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 11, 1912, in Sweetwater, Tenn., a daughter of Frank and Lela Picklesimer Malone. She had been employed at Adams-Millis Inc. and was a charter member of Faith Baptist Church in Archdale. She married Howard R. Callahan, who preceded her in death June 5, 1981.
Surviving are a son, Billy Don Brown of High Point; a grandson, Richard Donald Brown of High Point; and a daughter-in-law, Dorothy Bray of High Point.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Archdale, by the Rev. Stephen L. Welborn. Burial will be in Guilford Memorial Park. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale.
Memorials may be directed to Faith Baptist Church, 5744 Mendenhall Road, Archdale, N.C. 27263.

Patsy Everhart
Lexington - Mrs. Patsy Bradley Everhart, 59, of Old Salisbury Road died at 7:55 p.m. May 3, 2000, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem after three years of declining health.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Coggins Memorial Baptist Church. Visitation will be 6-8 tonight at Davidson Funeral Home.

Letha Lambeth
Thomasville - Mrs. Letha 'Jean' Lambeth, 60, of 600 Raleigh Road, #21, died May 3, 2000, at Community General Hospital.
She was born July 9, 1939, in Anson County, a daughter of William and Juanita Phillips Gilmore. She was a lifelong resident of this area. She was a homemaker and a member of Kennedy Road Freewill Baptist Church. She married Billy Lambeth, who preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Lambeth.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Rhonda G. Lovett and her husband, Don, of Linwood and Mrs. Debbie Grindstaff and her husband, Vernon 'Bunny,' of Thomasville; a son, William L. Lambeth and his wife, Patricia, of Lexington; three sisters, Mrs. Patricia Payne of Thomasville, Linda Martin of the residence and Toni Sexton of Archdale; grandchildren, Missy, Jennifer, Nickki, Samantha, Jason, Brook, Robbie and Brad; great-grandchild, Christian; and a special uncle, Rich Gilmore.
Funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Near Calvary Freewill Baptist Church, Lexington, by the Rev. Jimmy Barbour. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 6:30-8:30 tonight at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home and other times at the residence of her daughter, Debbie Grindstaff, 243 Capel Drive. The body will be at the funeral home until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
