High Point - Eric T. 'Cornbread' Summers, 43, of 809 Mint Ave. died May 6, 2000, at Piedmont Christian Home.
He was born Aug. 9, 1957, in High Point, a son of Herbert Ruff Sr. and Inzell Summers, who preceded him in death. He was educated in the High Point City school system and was of the Baptist faith. He also was preceded in death by a sister.
Surviving are two brothers, Roger Ruff of High Point and Herbert Ruff Jr. of Denver, Colo.; three sisters, Mildred Stevenson and her husband, Adison, Mrs. Gladys McCluney, both of High Point, and Betty Brown of White Plains, N.Y.; five nephews, Terry S. Koger, Baltimore, Tony S. Koger of Somerset, N.J., Timothy S. Koger, Todd S. Koger and Traci S. Koger, all of Trenton, N.J.; a special friend and caretaker, Mrs. Shilda Williams; and a host of aunts, uncles, friends and a very special friend that was like a mother to him all his life, Mrs. Nettie Robinson.
Funeral will be 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Hargett-Gilmore Memorial Chapel by the Rev. Michael A. Ellerbe. Visitation will be at 809 Mint Ave.

High Point - Donald Leroy Thompson, 64, died May 9, 2000, at Triad Manor Nursing Home.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. in Floral Garden Park Cemetery by the Rev. James E. Baucom.

Trenesa Young
High Point - Miss Trenesa Jean Young, 39, of 2729-D Annmoore Circle died May 3, 2000, at Atlanta, Ga.
She was born May 10, 1961, in Troy, a daughter of John Henry and Sarah Gainey Young. She received her education in the High Point school system was a member of Living Waters Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Joseph and Sarah Gainey.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Jamarion Johnson and Miss Tayren McQueen, both of High Point; her parents of High Point; three brothers, John Young, Jonathan Young, both of High Point and Henry Young of Atlanta; two half brothers, Justin and Jeremi Young, both of High Point; a sister, Miss Nashay Young; a half sister, Jerica Young, both of High Point; two grandchildren, Marques McQueen and Martavious Anderson, both of High Point; two sisters-in-law, Darcie Young of High Point and Thelma Young of Troy; a son-in-law, the Rev. Tavaris Johnson; and her stepmother, Mrs. Sarah Green Young of High Point.
Funeral will be 4 p.m. today at Living Waters Baptist Church by the Rev. Tavaris Johnson. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-4 p.m. today at the church and at other times at 1702 Boilingbroke Road.
Allen Allred
Archdale - Allen Luck Allred, 74, died May 10, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.
He was born March 13, 1926, in Randolph County, a son of Earl Monroe and Elizabeth Weaver Allred. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during World War II. He spent 40 years in the trucking industry and was a owner, operator until he retired in 1985. He was a former member of the New Market Civitan Club and was of the Baptist faith.
He loved his family and friends and anyone who knew him would always remember his sense of humor. On June 3, 1950, he married the former Christine Love, who survives of the residence. He was preceded in death by a sister, Jewel Watson and two brothers, Lawrence Allred and Jay Allred.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Sharon Allred Faust and her husband, Ron, of Jamestown and Mrs. Christi Allred Noren and her husband, Darryl, of Charlotte; a son, Carl Allen Allred and his wife, Judy, of Archdale; seven grandchildren, Carl Allen Allred II of High Point, Alison Allred McGee of Archdale, Caroline Faust, Daniel Faust and Sarah Faust, all of Jamestown, Cameron Noren and Chloe Noren, both of Charlotte; three sisters, Florence Matthews of Thomasville, Hortense Sykes of Archdale and Ann Boyles of Greensboro; and a brother, Hansel Allred of Archdale.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Glenola Baptist Church by the Rev. Doug Davis and the Rev. Danny Sykes. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 p.m. Friday at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale.
Pallbearers will be Barry Bennett, Dennis Clodfelter and nephews, Dean Allred, Marvin Allred, Terry Boyles and Scotty Boyles.

Eunice Boyd
Baltimore, Md. - Miss Eunice Inez Boyd, 77, died May 9, 2000, at Gilchrist Hospice Care in Baltimore.
She was born Aug. 2, 1922, in High Point, N.C., a daughter of Robert Caswell and Callie Vuncannon Boyd. She was a resident of Baltimore since 1942. She retired from Exxon Corp. and was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Hazel B. Glisson of Jamestown, N.C. and Mrs. Louise B. Marshall of Greensboro, N.C.; two stepbrothers, Harold Suits of Fairborn, Ohio, and Jimmy Suits of Thomasville, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Sechrest Chapel, High Point by the Rev. Steve Martin. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8 tonight at the funeral home.
A memorial service was held May 10 at Leonard J. Ruck Funeral Home in Baltimore.
Kerney Ferrell
High Point - Kerney Erolia Ferrell, 70, of 3404 Rolling Road died May 8, 2000, at his residence after an extended illness.
He was born Aug. 4, 1929, a son of Willis Edwards Sr. and Mary Lanier Ferrell, who both preceded him in death. He was a lifelong resident of High Point. He was employed with Slane Hosiery and retired from Clyde Pearson Co. On March 5, 1949, he married the former Colleen Dowdy, who survives of the residence. He also was preceded in death by a brother, W.E. Ferrell Jr.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ray (Linda) Libertore of High Point and Mrs. Bill (Debbie) Lapping of Thomasville; four grandchildren, Chris Libertore and Brad Libertore, Steven Hooper and Stephanie Jacobs; five great-grandchildren, Chris Libertore, Brad Libertore, Steven Hooper and Stephanie Jacobs; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Estelle Parrish of Archdale and Kathleen Robinson of High Point.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, High Point, by the Rev. Stephen L. Welborn. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home.

Viola Fuller
Thomasville - Mrs. Viola Clinard Fuller, 89, of 1919 Liberty Drive died May 9, 2000, at Community General Hospital.
She was born Feb. 10, 1911, in Davidson County, a daughter of Henry Arthur and Nannie Westmoreland Clinard. She was a former employee with Ragan Hosiery. She was a member of Fair Grove United Methodist Church and the Philathea Class. On Oct. 27, 1934, she married Albert Walter Fuller, who preceded her in death March 27, 1944.
Surviving are three sons, Arnold Fuller and his wife, Shirley, James 'Jim' Fuller and his wife, Faye, and Doak Fuller and his wife, Jean, all of Thomasville; a sister, Mrs. Frances of Thomasville; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday at Fair Grove United Methodist Church by the Rev. David L. White. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Visitation will be 7-9 tonight at the funeral home and other times at the residence.

Alfred Oliver II
Greensboro - Alfred Arthur Oliver II, 41, of 4806 Trailwood Drive died at his residence.
He was born April 15, 1959, in Guilford County, a son of Alfred Arthur and Lee Kennedy Oliver. He was a lifelong resident of Greensboro. He was president of Arthur A. Oliver and Son Inc. in High Point and was a member of Sedgefield Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his father in 1968.
Surviving are his mother of Sedgefield; a brother, Michael Lee Oliver and his wife, Amy, of Newton; a maternal grandmother, Mrs. Carrie Kennedy of High Point; a half sister, Katherine Boyer of Ocoee, Fla.; and five nieces and nephews, Austin Lee Oliver, Ian David Oliver, Erin Marie Oliver, David Boyer and Steven Boyer.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Sedgefield Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Will Terry and the Rev. James K. Wilson. Entombment will be in Guilford Memorial Park Mausoleum. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Visitation will 7-8:30 tonight at Sechrest Funeral Home, High Point.

Odis Reavis
Kernersville - Odis Rual Reavis, 75, formerly of S. Main St., Winston-Salem, died May 9, 2000, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 30, 1924, in Davidson County, a son of Rual Claud and Bessie Trogdon Reavis, who preceded him in death. He attended High Point City schools and Bryce Commercial Business College. He retired from AT&T after 38 years of service. He was a U.S. Marine veteran, having served during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He served as an informer for the justice department for seven years as a special agent. He also was preceded in death by two sisters, Mabel Wyatt and Elsie Siske; and a brother, Floyd Reavis.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Mrs. Ruth Lain Reavis of the residence; three brothers, Fred Reavis and his wife, Aliene, Hubert Reavis and his wife, Ann and Richard Reavis and his wife, Ricky, all of High Point; five sisters, Myrtle Blackburn of N. Wilkesboro, Ruby Dowell of Jamestown, Ruth Kimble of High Point, Pansy Hayworth and her husband, Willie, of Thomasville and Ethel Carter of High Point; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel by the Rev. James Smith and Chaplain Rennie Adcock. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetary in High Point. Visitation will be 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.

Mae Smith
High Point - Mrs. Mae Young Smith, 87, of 1907-X N. Centennial St. died May 10, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.
She was born Nov. 10, 1912, in Suffolk County, N.Y., a daughter of Charles and Inez Downs Young. She was a resident of the Wesleyan Arms community for four years. On August 21, 1936, she married Willard G. Smith, who survives of the residence. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeffrey Norman Thomas June 13, 1991.
Also surviving are six daughters, Lois Anne Thomas of Fillmore, N.Y., Evelyn M. Day of Midwest City, Okla., Nancy L. Troyer of Haiti, Aileen A. Brothers of Nevada, Mo., Eileen E. Siglin of Lawrenceville, Ga., and W. Jean Calder of Dacula, Ga.; 21 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held in Houghton, N.Y. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at Cumby Family Funeral Service, High Point.

Lexington - Aldoph Vender Wagoner, 91, of Ruby Lane, died at 4 a.m. May 10, 2000, at Forsyth Medical Center.
