Blanche Buckner
Thomasville - Mrs. Blanche Daligny Buckner, 90, of 906 Trinity St., died at 5:30 a.m. June 10, 2000, at Community General Hospital.
She was born Aug. 15, 1909, in Davidson County, a daughter of William J. Daligny and Carrie Lambeth Daligny. She was a member of Carolina Memorial Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She was married Dec. 26, 1926, to Nat Taylor Buckner, who preceded her in death April 15, 1982.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Doris Taylor of Hampton, Va., Mrs. Frank (Nancy) Kanoy and Mrs. Richard (Frances) York, both of Thomasville; one sister, Mrs. Lucille Stocks of Lexington, seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Carolina Memorial Baptist Church by the Rev. Stuart White and the Rev. Kenneth Miller. Interment will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Monday at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home and at other times at the residence, 906 Trinity St.

Aytch Chandler
Thomasville - Aytch Odell Chandler, 90, of 911 Mendenhall St., died June 10, 2000, at his residence.
He was born May 8, 1910, in Richmond County, the son of Charles Chandler and Ella Mauldin Chandler. He was retired owner and operator of Chandler Upholstery in Thomasville. He was a member of Unity United Methodist Church. On May 6, 1960, he was married to Mildred King, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Mamie Sloop of Thomasville and Mrs. Alline Barbee of Liberty, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Unity United Methodist Church by the Rev. DeForest E. Hillyer Jr. and the Rev. Wilber A. Jarrett. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery in High Point. The body is at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6:30-8:30 tonight and at other times at the home.

John Iachini
Jamestown - John Gilbert Iachini, 48, of 202 Newberry St. died June 9, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.
He was born May 23, 1952, in Altoona, Pa., the son of Gilbert John Iachini and Barbara Ann Brannan Iachini. He was a graduate of Pennsylvania State University and was director of marketing at Ansell Protective Products. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He also was a member of Jamestown Youth League as a coach and a referee. On Sept. 2, 1972, he married Mary Jo Alvarez, and she survives of the home. He was preceded in death by one son, Gabriel Iachini.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ami Schiffbauer and husband Jarrod of Athens, Ohio, and Miss Julia Ann Iachini of the home; three sons, Michael Joseph Iachini of Tallahassee, Fla., Daniel Robert Iachini of the home, Vincent Paul Iachini of the home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert John and Barbara Ann Iachini of Penn Hills, Pa.; one sister, Mrs. Beth Caliendo of Pittsburgh, Pa.; one brother, Kevin Iachini of Penn Hills, Pa.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church by Father Jack Kelly OSFS. The body is at Sechrest Funeral Home on E. Lexington Avenue, where visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight.

Richard Jones
Jamestown - Richard Jones, 76, of 406 Oakdale Road, died June 9, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.
He was born July 1, 1923, in Guilford County, the son of Oscar M. and Callie Modlin Jones. He lived in Jamestown all his life. He worked for Oakdale Cotton Mill for 26 years and retired from Gingher Shears Co. after 12 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army, and was a member of Bales Memorial Wesleyan Church for 45 years. He was a former Sunday school teacher, a member of Wesley Men, a youth leader, a board member, a member of the choir and Jones-Hill Trio. On Jan. 10, 1948, he married the former Annie Raye Davis, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Rita Sneed and husband James of High Point; a son, Pastor Ronnie Jones and wife Janice of Burlington; two sisters, Mrs. Betty Howard of Jamestown and Mrs. Pat Petty of Greensboro; two brothers, Delbert Jones of Climax and Cecil Jones of Jamestown; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Bales Memorial Wesleyan Church by the Rev. Wes Brown, the Rev. Williard Kiser and Pastor Ronnie Jones. Burial will be in Mitchell's Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at Sechrest Funeral Home in High Point.
Carun Mardichian
High Point - Carun Mardichian, 77, of 916-B Lakecrest Ave. died June 9, 2000, at his residence.
A memorial service will be at a later date. Cumby Family Funeral Service, High Point, is in charge of arrangements.
Pauline Pittman
Raeford - Pauline Elizabeth Biggs Pittman, 86, of 598 Rockfish Road died June 9, 2000, at Autumn Care of Raeford.
She was born in Robeson County Nov. 12, 1913, a daughter of Lucius Biggs and Ruby Broom Biggs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Pittman. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
Surviving are three sisters, Lucy B. Couzens of Trinity, Ruby B. Penney of Fayetteville and Mary B. Melton of Irvington, Ala.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Hillcrest Baptist Church by the Rev. Avril Stephens. Burial will be in Antioch Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-9 tonight at Crumpler Funeral Home.

J. Roy Rutledge
High Point - J. Roy Rutledge, 91, of High Point Place died June 10, 2000.
He was born June 15, 1908, in High Point, the son of Alexander Gray Rutledge and Annie Beck Rutledge. He was employed by REA Express for 25 years. He was a Disabled Veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Covenant Church United Methodist. On Aug. 8, 1931, he married Jewell Brown, who survives of High Point Place.
Surviving in addition to his wife are one daughter, Ann Marion and her husband, Jim, of High Point; one son, James Robert Rutledge of High Point; one sister, Nell Patterson of High Point; four beloved grandchildren, Julie, Joy, William and Gray Marion.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Oakwood Memorial Mausoleum. Visitation will be after the funeral at Oakwood Mausoleum and at other times at the home of the daughter, Ann Marion.

Asheboro - Charles Dennis Beane, 78, died June 16, 2000.

Robert Comer
Archdale - Robert Lee Comer, 90, of 122 Lakeside Drive died June 15, 2000, at his residence.
He was born July 9, 1909, in Montgomery County, a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Comer. He was a resident of Archdale for many years and was retired from Mickey Truck Bodies Co. He attended Glenola Baptist Church. He married the former Ruby Mae Weaver, who preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Louise Jones.
Surviving are a son, Robert Arnold Comer and his wife, Bleeka, of Archdale; two sisters, Minnie Miller and Pauline Loman, both of Lexington; a brother, Frank Comer of Lexington; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Lexington City Cemetery by the Rev. Doug Davis. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale.
Pallbearers will be Joe Comer, Van Jones, Travis Comer, Josh Spainhour, Timmy Jones and Jason Jones.
Betty Cooke
Lexington - Mrs. Betty Sue Leonard Cooke, 66, formerly of 1430 Sam Sharpe Road, Linwood, died at 9:25 a.m. June 16, 2000, at the Brian Center after declining health of two years.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at Davidson Funeral Home.

Lexington - Mrs. Janet Crotts Davis, 62, of Ridgecrest Drive died June 15, 2000, at Kiawah Island, S.C.
Memorial service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Second Reformed United Church of Christ. Visitation will be 1:30-3 p.m. Sunday at the church parlor.
