Thomasville - General “Dub” Carrick Jr., 78, of 908 Cunningham Road died June 10, 2000, at Lexington Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Free Pilgrim Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at 6:30-8:30 tonight at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home.
Inez Coggins
High Point - Inez Caldwell Coggins, 82, of SunBridge of the Triad died June 11, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.

Clay Haney Sr.
Sophia - Clay Lyon Haney Sr., 75, of 2542 Woodfield Road died June 11, 2000, at Moses H. Cone Hospital in Greensboro.
He was born Aug. 13, 1924, in Guilford County a son of William Henry and Girtha Mae Proctor Haney. He was an employee of the N.C. Department of Transportation, retiring in 1982. He was a veteran of WWII, having served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Liberty Road Baptist Church in Asheboro. On April 27, 1946, he married the former Hildreth Swaim, who died Dec. 18, 1990.
Surviving are son, Clay Lyon Haney Jr. of Sophia; two stepsons, Vestor Stafford of Archdale and James Ronald Stafford of Liberty; two brothers, Odell Haney of Thomasville and Clyde Haney of High Point; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Floral Garden Park Cemetery by the Rev. Don Ashley. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at Sechrest Funeral Service in Archdale.
Frank Holton Jr.
Lexingto - Frank Petty Holton Jr., 82, of Westover Drive, died June 11, 2000, at Moses Cone Hospital.
He was born in Davidson County Jan. 21, 1918, to Frank Petty Holton Sr. and Pat Wall Holton. He was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a graduate of the UNC Law School. He was retired Senior Partner in the Law Firm of Holton and Holton and was recognized by the North Carolina State Bar for his 50 years of practicing law.
He was a member of First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club, and served as past president of the Lexington Jaycees. He was one of the organizers of Sapona Country Club and a board member.
He was past president of the YMCA and served on the board and was on the advisory board for the Morehead Scholarship Selection Committee. He served with the Air Force in World War II.
Surviving are sons Frank Petty (Chip) Holton III and wife, Deborah, Robert Lee Holton and Stephen Charles (Bit) Holton and wife, Kim, all of Lexington; four grandchildren, Benjamin Green Holton, Robert Palmer Holton, Flannery Quinn Holton and Aldon Elizabeth Holton.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church by Dr. Ray Howell III.
The family will have a reception in the fellowship hall of First Baptist Church following the service and at other times at the home, 209 Westover Drive. Davidson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

William Horne
Southmont - William Wilson Horne, 81, died June 12, 2000.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Holloways Baptist Church. Visitation will be 6-8 tonight at Davidson Funeral Home.
Richard Jones
Jamestown - Richard Jones, 76, of 406 Oakdale Road, died June 9, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.
He was born July 1, 1923, in Guilford County, the son of Oscar M. and Callie Modlin Jones. He lived in Jamestown all his life. He worked at Oakdale Cotton Mill for 26 years and retired from Gingher Shears Co. after 12 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army, and was a member of Bales Memorial Wesleyan Church for 45 years. He was a former Sunday school teacher, a member of Wesleyan Men, a youth leader, board member, member of the choir and Jones-Hill Trio. On Jan. 10, 1948, he married the former Annie Raye Davis, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Rita Sneed and husband, James, of High Point; a son, Pastor Ronnie Jones and wife, Janice, of Burlington; two sisters, Mrs. Betty Howard of Jamestown and Mrs. Pat Petty of Greensboro; two brothers, Delbert Jones of Climax and Cecil Jones of Jamestown; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Bales Memorial Wesleyan Church by the Rev. Wes Brown, the Rev. Williard Kiser and Pastor Ronnie Jones. Burial will be in Mitchell’s Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Sechrest Funeral Home in High Point is in charge of arrangements.
Francis Karlick
Jonesville - Francis Thomas “Tom” Karlick, 58, of 1008 Antler Run, died June 10, 2000, at his residence.
He was born March 30, 1942, in Hazelton, Pa., a son of Thomas Francis and Mary Kanelly Karlick, who preceded him in death. He retired after serving his community as a deputy sheriff in Guilford County.
He also was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Karlick.
Surviving are his wife, Joyce Karlick; one daughter, Yvonne Fannin of Greensboro; two sons, Frances Karlick Jr. and Richard Karlick, both of Greensboro; one sister, Cathleen Chace of Reno, Nev.; five grandchildren, Lauren Fannin, Kristen Fannin, Brandi Karlick, Zachary Karlick and Hannah Karlick; father- and mother-in-law, Randayu and Rose Harris of Jonesville; and many loving friends.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Stokesdale United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 7-9 tonight Brooke Funeral Home in Stokesdale.
B. Marable
Simpsonville, S.C. - Barbara Coltrane Marable, 43, of 5 Windchime Court, died June 10, 2000.
She was born in High Point, N.C., a daughter of Jack Douglas and Anne Southern Coltrane of Trinity, N.C. She was married to William S. Marable Jr. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and a graduate of Trinity High School and Guilford Technical Community College. She was formerly associated with Worldwide Adoption Agency of Spartanburg and a member of the Greenville Tennis Club.
Surviving in addition to her parents and husband are son, David William Marable of the home; three brothers, Jack Coltrane and wife, Emily, of Asheboro, N.C., James Coltrane and wife, Kim, of Trinity and Don Coltrane of Duluth, Ga.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Archdale United Methodist Church by Dr. Mary John Dye. Visitation will be at the residence. Cumby Family Funeral Service of Archdale, N.C., is in charge of arrangements.

Howard Moore
Thomasville - The Rev. Howard Grady Moore, 72, of 3823 Denton Road, died June 10, 2000, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 4, 1928, in Surry County a son of George Moore and Myrtle Lawson Moore, who preceded him in death. He was a retired employee with Kayby Mills of Thomasville. He served as pastor of Love of God Baptist Church, N.C. 109 South. On June 8, 1949, he was married to Elsie Hunt, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are two sons, Marty Moore and his wife, Lisa, of Thomasville, Rocky Hunt and his wife, Debbie, of Silver Valley Community, Lexington; nine brothers, the Rev. Robert Moore of Lexington, Joe Moore, William Moore and Everett Moore, all of Thomasville, June Moore and Butch Moore of Clemmons, Steve Moore of Winston-Salem, Johnny Moore of Wallburg and George Moore of King; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Love of God Baptist Church by the Rev. Claude Garrett, the Rev. Hillis Burton and the Rev. Dwayne Locklear. Burial will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
The body will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home until taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Visitation will be 7-9 tonight at the funeral home and other times at the home.

High Point - Mrs. Flora Carmichael Spencer, 97, died Sunday at Graybrier Nursing and Retirement Center.

Doris Tyson
High Point - Ms. Doris L. Tyson, 60, of 1392 Bailey Circle, formerly of 1108 Barbee Ave., died June 11, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.
