Lexington - Mrs. Annie Mae Beck Smith, 98, of Smith Road died at 4:30 a.m. July 14, 2000, at Lexington Memorial Hospital after an illness of two months.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Beck's Lutheran Church. Visitation will be 1-1:45 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Greensboro - Mrs. Marcia Ballentine Turner, 52, died July 14, 2000, at her residence.
She was a long time resident of Collinsville, Va., and Jamestown. She was employed with Forsyth Hospital as a nurse. She also was a member of Smith Memorial United Methodist Church in Collinsville
Surviving are her husband of 34 years, Charles Turner; two daughters, Susan Turner and Karen East, both of Greensboro; a son, Mike Turner of Jamestown; her parents, Loren and Barbara Ballentine of Tulsa, Okla.; a sister, Nancy Gelino of Oklahoma; a brother, Mike Ballentine of Texas; and three grandchildren, Chris East, Zack East and Jake Turner.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel. Burial will be in Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-9 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
Randy Wagoner
High Point - Randy Ray Wagoner, 42, of 208 E. Peachtree Drive died July 13, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.
He was born Aug. 13, 1957, in High Point, a son of McNeill and Ruth Wagner Wagoner. He was a lifelong resident of High Point.
Surviving are his parents of the residence; a sister, Carolyn Wagoner of the residence; his grandmother, Mrs. Mary Wagner of High Point; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, High Point, by the Rev. Jerry Wagoner. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Winston-Salem. Visitation will be at the residence.
Frances Barbee
High Point - Mrs. Frances Hallman Barbee, 87, of Montlieu Avenue, died July 13, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.
She was born Oct. 14, 1912, one of 12 children to J.S. and Mary Louzette Goodson Hallman in Iron Station, Lincolnton County. She had been a resident of High Point for over 50 years and retired in 1978 from the office of Ilderton Chrysler Dodge Plymouth Inc. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Presbyterian Women. She was active in all phases of church work and served as a volunteer at High Point Regional Hospital and with the American Red Cross. She was a member of Business Professional Women's Association. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Snow Barbee.
Surviving are one son, Ernest Snow Barbee Jr., of Boston; four sisters, Mrs. Catherine Neal of Charlotte, Mrs. Johnsie Lehrbaum of Seal Beach, Calif., Mrs. Rose Alligood of Columbia, Md., and Mrs. Betty Harwood of Washington, D.C.; two granddaughters, Ms. Kirsten Barbee Powelson and Ms. Adrienne Barbee; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. July 21, 2000, in First Presbyterian Church by Dr. R. Scott Woodmansee. Interment will follow in the church columbarium. Visitation will follow the service at the church.

Asheboro - Mrs. Colleen May Summers Hicks Dorsett, 68, of 1278 Mountain View Drive, died July 14, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.
She was born March 27, 1932 in Guilford County to Sample and Nona Ella Peele Summers. She had been employed by J&A Foam Co. in Trinity and was a Methodist. She was married to Roland Hill Hicks Sr. who died March 22, 1981. She later married James D. Dorsett Sr. who died Oct. 6, 1991.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Janine Ward and her husband, Wayne, of Thomasville, and Miss Gail Hicks of Thomasville; four sons, Roland 'Speedy' Hicks Jr. and wife, Deniese, Edward Lee Hicks and Christopher L. Hicks and wife, Wendy, all of Asheboro, and Jimmie Dorsett Jr. and wife, Valerie, of Siler City; three sisters, Mrs. Edith Michaux and husband, Jack, and Mrs. Marie Stutts, all of Greensboro, and Mrs. Jean Fogleman and husband, Raymond, of Emerald Isle; three sister-in-laws, Mrs. Frances Summers of Riverview, Mich., Mrs. Clyde Hill of Lexington and Mrs. Eva Bare of High Point; two brother-in-laws, Paul Hicks of High Point and Jack Hicks of Cambrir, Ill.; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Cumby Funeral Service in Archdale by the Rev. Stuart White. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
Reeves Fowler
Lynchburg, Va. - Reeves Agnew Fowler, 51, died July 14, 2000. He was the loving husband of Linda Fowler.
He was born in Gastonia, N.C., a son of the late Edwin Burke Fowler Jr. and the late Margaret Agnew Fowler. He was self-employed as a stock trader and co-owner of Different Drummer Advertising, a direct-mail advertising service. He was an avid outdoorsman and was loved by all that knew him.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Michael Fowler of Aberdeen, Scotland, and Scott Fowler of Durham, N.C., and his spouse, Annie; a brother, Edwin Burke Fowler III and his spouse, Sherwood, of Greensboro, N.C.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in the Woodall-Tharp Chapel with the Rev. Glen Langston officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Central Virginia, 2412 Langhorne Road, Lynchburg, Va. 24501.

Thomasville - Mrs. Dora Belle Myers Harrison, 90, a resident of Westwood Health and Rehabilitation Center and formerly of Ball Park Road, died July 15, 2000, in High Point Regional Hospital.

Semmie Jacobs
Fairfax, Va. - Mrs. Semmie H. Jacobs, 92, formerly of High Point, N.C., died July 14, 2000, in Fairfax.
She attended High Point High School and High Point College. She was an active member of B'NAI Israel Synagogue where she had served as president of the Sisterhood and the Council of Jewish Women. She was instrumental in the organization of Mobile Meals of High Point. She was the widow of Harry Jacobs who operated Jacob's Men's Shop for many years. Harry Jacobs died Jan. 27, 1991.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Helen R. Trockman of Evansville, Ind., Mrs. Bunny Chapman of Alexandria, Va., and Ms. Betty Jacobs of Oakton, Va.; one son, Jerry Jacobs of High Point; one sister, Sara Feen of Milwaukee; and one brother-in-law, Al Rabhan of Atlanta; many grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be held at 6:15 this evening in the Hebrew Cemetery on Old N.C. 311 North in High Point by Rabbi Jerome Fox.

Peggy Smith
High Point - Mrs. Peggy Jean Smith, 40, of 611 Stone Place, died July 14, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital following an eight-month battle with cancer.
She was born in Dunedin, Fla., on Oct. 31, 1959, a daughter of Sherrel and Katie Boone Cutts. She was employed by Marsh Cabinets and by Clarendon Furniture Co. She was a member of God's Little Chapel. She was a loving mother, grandmother and daughter, and had many special friends.
Surviving are two sons, Jason Weakley and his wife, Jean, and Sherrel Weakley and his wife, Brandie, both of High Point; a daughter, Brenda Gerben and her husband, Mike, of Fayetteville; her parents of High Point; three sisters, Eunice Mcilvaine of Interlachen, Fla., Della Sandoval of Maryville, Wash., and Martha Sue Brewer of High Point; two brothers, Michael Reddish of Mooresville and Vincent Meleizen of High Point; two grandchildren, Michael Gerben and Corey Kindle; nieces and nephews; and the father of the children, Robert Weakley of High Point.
Funeral will be at 9 a.m. Monday in the Harold C. Davis Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jesse Maynard. Graveside service will follow at noon at the Oak Grove Methodist Church Cemetery in Wallace, S.C. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 tonight and at other times at the home of her parents, 307 Louise Ave.

Dora Harrison
Thomasville - Mrs. Dora Belle Myers Harrison, 90, of Westwood Health and Rehabilitation Center, and formerly of Ball Park Road, died July 15, 2000, in High Point Regional Hospital.
She was born July 7, 1910, in Davidson County, the daughter of John Franklin Myers and Lavada Mendenhall Myers. She had been a lifelong resident of this area. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of Zion United Church of Christ and a member of the Ladies' and Men's Bible Class.
She was married to Walter Glenn Harrison, who preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by a son, Robert Ray Harrison.
Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Lynn Hunt Nunn, and her husband, David, of Archdale; two sons, Johnnie Matthew Harrison and his wife, Jerrie, of Salisbury and Talton Jerry Harrison and his wife, Barbara, of Trinity; two sisters, Mrs. Annice Turner of Salisbury and Mrs. Edith Warner of Thomasville; a brother, Ralph Myers of Hatteras; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Zion United Church of Christ by Dr. Joe D. Coltrane. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will be at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home from 7 to 9 tonight and other times at the home of the daughter, 7312 Turnpike Road, Archdale.
