Mrs. Huldah Marie Chilton Muckenfuss, 83, died Aug. 5, 2000, at her residence. A native of Surry County, she was a longtime schoolteacher and a very active member of Centre Friends Meeting. She was the beloved wife of Charles T. Muckenfuss. Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Terry Muckenfuss of Georgia, Billy Muckenfuss of North Carolina; four grandchildren, Tara Muckenfuss of Charleston, S.C., Chris Muckenfuss of Asheboro, Andy Muckenfuss of Franklinville, Terry Muckenfuss of Greensboro; and two sisters, Margie Vaughn of High Point and Frances Gamble of Pleasant Garden. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Centre Friends Meeting. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 7-9 tonight at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm Street Chapel. Carl Eugene 'Gene' Bumgardner, 68, of Denton Road died Aug. 5, 2000, at his residence. He was born July 10, 1932, in Davidson County, a son of William Carl Bumgardner and Anna Hicks Bumgardner. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean Conflict. He was a retired employee with Thomasville Furniture Industries, Plant B. He attended Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church and was a member of the Inspirations Sunday School Class. On July 30, 1956, he married Lillian Britt, who preceded him in death Feb. 28, 1960. On Oct. 5, 1963, he was married to Clara Sue Bryant, who survives of the residence. Also surviving are two daughters, Janice McDonald and her husband, Charles, of Light Road, Thomasville, and Donna Hullette and her husband, Tony, of Denton Road, Thomasville; two sisters, Edna Jollie of Conway, S.C., and Betty Carter of Mocksville; three brothers, Donald Bumgardner and his wife, Vicky, Jerry Bumgardner and his wife, Barbara, and Roger Bumgardner and his wife, Judy, all of Thomasville; five grandchildren, Mindy McDonald, Jennifer McDonald, Zach Gibson, Jessica Hullette and Emily Hullette. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church by Dr. E. Keith Carroll and the Rev. Carroll Upton officiating. Burial will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The body will be at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home until taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Steven 'Steve' Dale Curtis, 46, of 509 Birch Creek Road, McLeansville, died Aug. 4, 2000, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. He was born May 26, 1954, in Canada. He was the owner and operator of That Special Touch Custom Framing. He also was an avid golfer and loved his children more than life. Surviving are his wife of 25 years, Mitzi McBryde Curtis; a son, Sean Curtis of the residence; a daughter, Sunny Curtis of Greensboro; his mother, Lillian Casey McBryde; two brothers, Art and Lee Curtis; a brother-in-law, Ronald V. McBryde Sr., and his wife, Pam; a niece, Shannon Lea McBryde; and a nephew, Ronald V. McBryde Jr. A celebration of his life will be held 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday at Festival Park at Oak Hollow Lake, Shelter 4. Memorials may be directed to the Humane Society of Guilford County, 4527 W. Mrs. Geraldine 'Geri' Bell Norton, 79, of 1311-B Eaton Place died Aug. 6, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital after a lengthy illness. Funeral arrangements are pending at Cumby Family Funeral Service of High Point, Eastchester Drive.
Wilbur Petree

Wilbur Dewey Petree, 77, of 1316-D Piedmont Parkway, died Aug. 5, 2000, at Piedmont Christian Home. He was born Jan. 10, 1923, in Davidson County, a son of Dewey Shore and Emma Luida Fritts Petree. He was employed in the construction industry before retiring in 1988. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Clarksbury United Methodist Church and the H.M. Fritts Bible Class. He was married to the former Thelma Mae Grubb, who preceded him in death April 24, 1994. Surviving are a daughter, Rhonda P. Byrne of Greensboro; a son, Dewey Anthony Petree of Portland, Ore.; a sister, Dolores P. Lambeth of Asheboro; a brother, Joe D. Lambeth of Dayton, Ohio; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Family Funeral Care of Thomasville is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Bennetta Robinson Zimmerman, 94, of Circle Drive died Aug. 6, 2000, at Triad United Methodist Home in Winston-Salem after a two-year period of declining health. She was born in Mecklenburg County on Dec. 29, 1905. She was a daughter of Columbus Ezelle and Lydia Walters Robinson. She was a graduate of Wingate College and a former teacher with the Davidson County School System. She was a member of Arcadia Grange 607 and a past insurance agent for the National Grange. She was a member of the Home Demonstration Club and an active member of The Arcadia Senior Citizens Club. She was also a member of the Ladies Bible Class of Mount Olivet United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Webb Numa Zimmerman on Nov. 15, 1999. Surviving are two sons, Richard Zimmerman and wife Nancy of Columbus, Ohio, and Phil Zimmerman and wife Brenda of Arcadia. She is also survived by four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral will be noon Tuesday at Mount Olivet United Methodist Church. The Revs. Dan Hester and Alton Fitzgerald will officiate. Burial will be at the Mount Olivet United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 10-11:30 a.m. at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel. , and other times at the residence of Phil Zimmerman on Circle Drive. Jeffrey Dwayne Fleming, 34, of Tom Ball Road, died Aug. 6, 2000.
He was born March 11, 1966, in Guilford County, a son of Bernard Cecil and Bonnie Lacey Fleming. He owned and operated Frame Masters Co. in Randleman.
Surviving are a daughter, Megan Elizabeth Fleming of Randleman; his mother of Sophia; a sister, Bonita Cox of Archdale; a brother, Randy D. Southern of Raleigh; two aunts, Nancy Lacey of Sophia and Patsy Gibson of Coconut Creek, Fla.; and two nephews, Mack Roberts III and Justin Kyle Cox.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale, by the Rev. Douglas Davis. Burial will be in Glenola Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home and other times at the residence of his mother.

Mrs. Michelle Lynn Richardson Fleming, 29, of 6600 Tomball Road died Aug. 6, 2000, at her residence.
She was born June 25, 1971, in Guilford County, a daughter of Harold Wayne and Linda Mae Price Richardson. She was employed as an office manager with Hickory Bedding Inc. and was a member of Welch Memorial United Methodist Church. She was married to Jeffrey Dwayne Fleming.
Surviving are a daughter, Megan Elizabeth Fleming of the residence; her brother, Michael Wayne Richardson of Randleman; her parents of Randleman; her paternal grandparents, Harold and Helen Richardson of Randleman; and her maternal grandparents, Robert and Mary McDonald of Martinsville, Va.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Sechrest Chapel, Archdale, by the Rev. Ralph Eanes. Burial will be in Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home.

Francis 'Frank' Vincent Kanoy, 73, of 609 Sunrise Ave. died Aug. 7, 2000, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 29, 1927, in Davidson County, a son of Fred B. and Annie May Darr Kanoy. He was a disabled veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II. He retired from Thomasville Furniture Industries in 1992, and also was a salesman for 28 years with Davidson Wholesale. He was a member of Carolina Memorial Baptist Church, the Men's #2 Sunday School Class and formerly served as a deacon. He was a member of Woodmen of the World and was a life member of Disabled American Veterans (DAV). On Dec. 11, 1954, he married Nancy Buckner, who survives of the residence.
Also surviving are a son, Steven Randall Kanoy of Thomasville; two brothers, Reid Kanoy of Natchez, Miss., and Bill Kanoy of Thomasville; and four grandchildren, Steven Kanoy II of Irving, Texas, Miranda Kanoy, Vince Kanoy and Tessa Kanoy, all of Thomasville.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Carolina Memorial Baptist Church by the Rev. Stuart White and the Rev. Ken Miller. Burial will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The body will be at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Visitation will be 7-9 tonight at the funeral home and other times at the residence.

Miss Josie Leah Lambeth, 93, formerly of 3708 Luck Drive, died Aug. 6, 2000, at Piedmont Retirement Center.
She was born Dec. 14, 1906, in Trinity, a daughter of Richard Cicero and Flora Belle Welborn Lambeth. She was a resident of the Archdale and Trinity vicinity the majority of her life and was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Nannie B. Kinley of High Point and Mrs. Ruth J. Montgomery of Cary; several nieces; and nephews.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Chris J. Bennett. Visitation will be 6-7:30 tonight at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale.

Charles Weaver McKinney, 55, of 263 Boggs Road died Aug. 2, 2000, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 11, 1944, in Davidson County, a son of Charlie George and Hazel Harrison McKinney. On April 9, 1966, he married Barbara Folsom, who survives of High Point.
Also surviving are two sons, Charles Wayne McKinney and his wife, Tonya, of Trinity and Toby Craig McKinney of High Point; his mother of Thomasville; a sister, Mrs. Joel (Carol) Fuller of Thomasville; four brothers, Roger McKinney of High Point, Larry McKinney and Gene Ballard of Thomasville and Guinn McKinney of Charlotte; and two grandchildren.
No service will be held.

Geraldine 'Geri' Bell Norton, 79, of 1311-B Eaton Place died Aug. 6, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.
She was born April 27, 1921, in Albemarle, a daughter of Thomas Martin and Mollie Alma Williams Bell. She was a licensed practical nurse, she graduated from the North Carolina Baptist Hospital School of Nursing and was a private duty nurse at High Point Regional Hospital. She married Guy L. Norton, who preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. R.E. (Ann) Clement and Darla B. McKenzie, both of High Point; and a nephew, Steven Clement of High Point.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Calvary Church of the Nazarene by the Rev. Billy H. Ring.
