Donnie Lamar Bowers, 47, died Sept. 10, 2000, at the Murdoch Center following an extended illness. He was born in High Point on July 16, 1953, the beloved son of Vernie and Wanda Ellison Bowers. Surviving are his mother, Wanda E. Bowers of Thomasville; a sister, Linda Douglas and her husband, Allen, of Thomasville; two nieces and a nephew. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery by the Rev. Marcus Campbell and the Rev. Bob Hiatt. The family will be at the home of his mothers. James Edward Colson, 64, of 205 W. Guilford St., died Sept. 9, 2000. Funeral will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Emmanuel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Oakwood Memorial Park in High Point. The family will receive friends Wednesday at the church 30 minutes before the service and other times at the home.

Allen Trieglaff

Allen Anthony Trieglaff, 78, of 205 Brantley Drive, died Sept. 10, 2000. He was born Jan. 5, 1922, in Butternut, Wis. He had lived the greater part of his life in this area. He was a retired truck driver and upon his retirement went to work for Lexington Furniture where he retired again. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, serving with Battery B, 161st Field Artillery Battalion. For his actions he was awarded the Bronze Star. He was of the Baptist faith. He was married to Pearl Roberts Trieglaff who died Feb. 16, 1994. Surviving are three sons, Bobby Trieglaff of the home, Carl Trieglaff of High Point and Wade Trieglaff of Randleman; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral will be 4 p.m. Tuesday in J.C. Green & Sons Chapel with the Rev. Daniel Browning officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 9 tonight and other times at the home. The family requests that memorials be directed to the American Heart Association, 202 Centre Port Drive, Suite 100, Greensboro, N.C. 27409.

Byron 'Fat' Lee Brooks, 74, of Yadkin College Road died at 7:12 p.m. Sept. 10, 2000, at Lexington Memorial Hospital after a sudden illness.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6:30-8:30 tonight at Davidson Funeral Home.

Ms. Sonyia Denise Hopkins, 20, of 311 Winston St. died Sept. 10, 2000, at Baker Road and I-85 as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident.
Funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Friday at Cornerstone UWC Church by Apostle J.H. Carter. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the service Friday at the church.

William Little Sr.

William Little Sr., 74, of 2306 Dallas Ave. died Sept. 10, 2000, at SunBridge Care & Rehabilitation For The Triad, where he was a resident since January 1994.
He was born May 18, 1926, in Chesterfield County, S.C., a son of Andrew and Martha Wright Little, who both preceded him in death. He resided in High Point the majority of his life. After serving a tour of duty in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, he returned to High Point where he was employed at U.S. Furniture, formerly the Blacksmith Shop. He was a member of St. Stephen AME Zion Church. He also was preceded in death by a son, William Little Jr. in January 1999; a sister, Hattie Little Funderburke; and a brother, Samuel Chapman.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Creola R. Little of the residence; a daughter, Sherrie Bivens of High Point; two sons, Samuel L. Rogers of High Point and Benson L. Rogers of Lexington; two grandchildren, Tiffany Jackson and Omar Little; a great-grandchild; two brothers, David Chapman and Walter Chapman; two sisters, Carolyn Diggs and Julia Quick and her husband, Daniel, all of High Point; an aunt, Mrs. Mamie Autry of Cheraw, S.C.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, Mrs. Pandora Montague and the Rev. James W. Rogers Sr. and his wife, Annette, other in-laws, relatives and friends.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church by the Rev. Mary Kendall. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8 tonight at Haizlip Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
