Mrs. Love Hall Nance, 66, of 4972 Jordan Valley Road went home to receive her crown of glory Oct. 31, 2000.
She was born Nov. 14, 1933, in Rutherford County, a daughter of Ray and Eugenia Hughes Hall, who both preceded her in death. She was a resident of High Point and Trinity the majority of her life. She was a 1951 graduate of High Point High School and a 1982 graduate of Winston-Salem State University, where she received a degree in elementary education. She taught kindergarten at Trindale Elementary School and also taught at Trinity Elementary School, Wesleyan Academy and Immaculate Heart of Mary. She was a member of First Wesleyan Church in High Point and had taught the Mary Carson Sunday School Class.
On April 14, 1951, she was married to Max H. Nance, who survives of the residence. She was a homemaker, a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Hall and Bob Hall.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Joy Haithcock and her husband, Randy, of Trinity; three sons, Max Nance Jr. and his wife, Carolyn, of Trinity, Norman Kirk Nance and his wife, Susan, of East DePere, Wis., and Chuck Nance and his wife, Melissa, of Trinity; eight grandchildren, Hope Haithcock, Faith Haithcock, Paul Haithcock, Mark Haithcock, Alicia Nance, Sarah Nance, Kelly Nance and Mia Nance; and three sisters, Mrs. June Gant of High Point, Mrs. Ann Bradberry of Kernersville and Mrs. Margaret Jaich of San Jose, Calif.
Funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday at First Wesleyan Church by the Rev. Aron P. Willis and the Rev. Carroll M. Upton. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-9 tonight at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale, and at other times at the residence of Randy and Joy Haithcock, 4857 Colonial Circle, Trinity.

Mrs. Lydia Anne Franck Young, 72, of 145 Patriots Crook died Nov. 1, 2000, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C.
She was born June 18, 1928, in Fayetteville, N.C., a daughter of John Howard and Alice Franck, who both preceded her in death. She married Sherman W. "Bud" Young, who preceded her in death.
Surviving are her two daughters, Nancy Young Budo and her husband, Chris, of Cary, N.C., Mary Anne Young of High Point, N.C.; a granddaughter, Caroline N. Budo of Cary; two sisters, Alice Lee Gainey and her husband, Dr. Robert, of Fayetteville and Mary Howard Downs and her husband, Sam, of Emerald Isle; and seven nieces and nephews, Caro Lee and Scott Stapleton of Fayetteville, Teresa and Frank Holcomb of Morehead City, Sam Downs II and Allyson of Cary and Mary Kay Downs of San Jose, Calif.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, Martinsville, by the Rev. Ron Mateer. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Cross Creek Cemetery, Fayetteville, N.C.

Roy Richard 'Bob' Hailey, 57, of 711 Westside Drive Ext. died Nov. 1, 2000.

Dolan Camden Hunter, 41, formerly of Thomasville, N.C., died Oct. 30, 2000, at Forsyth Memorial Hospital in Winston-Salem, N.C.
He was born May 21, 1959, in Thomasville, a son of Willie and Marie Hunter. He was a resident of Bridgeport for 12 years. He was a member of Miracle Faith World Outreach, where he served as an elder and minister of music.
He graduated from Thomasville Senior High School and attended Wake Forest University. He was employed at Yale University in New Haven, Conn. He also was a self-employed musician and playwright. He traveled and performed with recording artists across the country. He was married to Dorcas Summerfield Hunter. He was preceded in death by his father.
Surviving are two daughters, Alexandra Hunter and Jessica Hunter, both of Bridgeport; two stepdaughter, Meghan Summerfield of Bridgeport; his mother of Thomasville; three brothers, Willie Hunter of High Point, N.C., Clinton Hunter of Winston-Salem and Apostle Donald (Tia) L. Hunter; four sisters, Mae F. Swittenburg, Lois A. Hunter and Carolyn Hunter, all of Thomasville, and Shirley (Gerard) Grate of Florida; an aunt; two uncles; two great-uncles; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Funeral will be 12:30 p.m. Saturday at T. Austin Finch Auditorium, Thomasville. Burial will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park, Thomasville. Visitation will be 6-8 tonight at Brown New Calvary Baptist Church, Thomasville, and 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturday at T. Austin Finch Auditorium, Unity Street, Thomasville.

Mrs. Dorothy 'Dot' Walton Jones, 81, of 3427 E. Kivett Drive died at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 1, 2000, at her daughters' residence.
She was born Feb. 5, 1919, in Guilford County, a daughter of John William and Ethel Lou Irwin Walton of High Point, who both preceded her in death. She was a lifelong resident of High Point and recently retired from Custom Samples Inc. She was a member of Bales Memorial Wesleyan Church. On April 4, 1934, she was married to Thurlow 'Bud' Jones, who preceded her in death May 15, 1992. She also was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Teresa Young April 17, 1993; a sister, Masie Jones Nov. 22, 1996; and three brothers, Charles Grayson Walton in 1979, Glen Samuel Walton in 1992 and Theodore 'Speedy' Walton in 1996.
Surviving are two daughters, Norma Jean West and Lois Jones White, both of High Point; a son, Buddy Roger Jones of High Point; her saddened four grandchildren, Charles 'Chip' Southern, Joni Garrard, Roger Dale Southern and Karen Denise White Wood; four great-grandchildren, Tesla, Tori, Trey and Caroline; two brothers, Lee R. Walton of Archdale and Donald T. Walton of High Point; and a sister, Annie Walton Johnson of High Point.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, High Point, by the Rev. Doug Dennis. Burial will be in Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation for family and many friends who loved her will be 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bessie Faye Hedgecock Motsinger, 85, of Motsinger Drive died Nov. 1, 2000, at Forsyth Medical Center.
She was born July 8, 1915, in Davidson County, a daughter of Arthur and Phoebe Weavil Hedgecock, who both preceded her in death. She grew up in the Abbotts Creek Community and was a member of Abbotts Creek Baptist Church. She graduated from Wallburg High School. She was married to Jonah Ray Motsinger in 1936 and moved to the Sedge Garden Community. She became a member of Saints Delight Primitive Baptist Church. She retired from Forsyth County School System, after 20 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1962; a sister, Mary Hedgecock; three brothers, Charlie, Willie Paul and Early Hedgecock; and a son-in-law, Charles Talley.
Surviving are a daughter, Shelba Talley of Kernersville; two sons and daughters-in-law, J.R. and Kathy Motsinger and Terry and Ellen Motsinger of Winston-Salem; three sisters, Emma Lee Parnell, Blanche (George) Sechrist and Mildred (Clay) Craven; three grandchildren, Amanda Motsinger, Sandra (Randy) Weavil and LuAnn (Wesley) Baker; four great-grandchildren, Miranda Weavil, Jordan, Jonathan and Jason Baker; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Saints Delight Primitive Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 7-9 tonight at Hayworth-Miller-Cain Funeral Home, Kernersville, and other time at 270 Motsinger Drive.
She enjoyed flowers and gardening, and flowers will be welcomed.

Catherine Poole
High Point
Mrs. Catherine Poole, 86, formerly of Forrest Street, died Nov. 1, 2000, at Wesleyan Arms Nursing Center.
She was born Feb. 27, 1914, in Duplin County, a daughter of Luther L. and Cora Blanchard West. She was a resident of High Point since 1931. She was a graduate of Guilford General School of Nursing in 1934. She retired in 1979, from High Point Memorial Hospital as a registered nurse, after 56 years of service. She was a member of American Nursing Association-District #9. She also was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, the Women's Wesley Sunday School Class and the Women's Circle #4. On Oct. 27, 1934, she married Joe Eugene Poole, who preceded her in death Sept. 23, 1984.
Surviving are two daughter, Mrs. Samuel G. (Patsy) Myers of Melbourne, Fla., and Mrs. Jackie P. Skidmore of 4020 River Pointe Place, High Point; a brother, Ray West of Warsaw; four grandchildren, Michael G. Myers, Tracey E. Myers, Andrew Kirk Myers and Christian Skidmore; and a great-granddaughter, Stephanie Lynn Skidmore of High Point.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Sechrest Chapel by the Rev. Glenn L. Myers Jr. and the Rev. Lloyd G. Hunsucker. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at Sechrest Funeral Service, E. Lexington Avenue, High Point, and other times at the residence of a grandson, Christian Skidmore, 2700 Westgate Drive, High Point.

Naomi Suggs
Thomasville
Mrs. Naomi Hubbard Suggs, of 1345 Unity St. died Nov. 1, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.
She was born in Guilford County, a daughter of John Willie Hubbard and Cora Martin Hubbard. She was a resident of Davidson County the majority of her life. She was an active member of Carolina Memorial Baptist Church and the Ladies Sunday School Class #2. Along with her husband, she was owner and operator of Suggs Cafeteria and Barbecue of High Point. She was a charter member of the American Business Women's Association. On Oct. 11, 1930, she was married to Clyde Suggs, who preceded her in death March 6, 1991.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. James R. (Evelyn) Harris of Thomasville, Mrs. Donnie (Betty) Doby of Trinity and Mrs. Tom (Anne) Guthrie of Hickory; a son, Bobby Suggs and his wife, Mary, of Thomasville; two sisters, Ms. Emma H. Beck of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Ms. Ruby H. Thomas of Thomasville; three brothers, Jack Hubbard of Thomasville, Sherman Hubbard and Raymond Hubbard, both of Kingsport, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, Mrs. Mark (Cathi) Smith, Mrs. Eric (Jane) Chapman, Mrs. Greg (DeAnn) Burcham, Mrs. Michael (Pamella) Saladino, Roger Doby and his wife, Kelly, Don Doby Jr., Mrs. Roy (Ashley) McRae and Zack Guthrie and his wife, Kristen; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Carolina Memorial Baptist Church by the Rev. Stuart White. Burial will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The body will be at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Visitation will be 6:30-8:30 tonight at the funeral home and other times at the residence.

William White
High Point
William 'Bill' Wray White, 76, of 2980 Ebb Shore Drive died Nov. 1, 2000, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 1, 1924, in Charlotte, a son of Clyde and Eugene Washam White, who both preceded him in death. He was a High Point resident for 50 years. He was an auto mechanic teacher at Ragsdale High School. He was a member of Archdale United Methodist Church and the Adult Fellowship Sunday School Class. He was a volunteer with Guil-Rand Fire Department and served as Scout master of Boy Scout Troop 19 for 25 years. On May 18, 1945, he married the former Nadine Vaughn, who survives of the residence. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Becky White Welborn in 1982.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Linda Absher and her husband, Grady, of Greensboro; a son, Steve White of Archdale; a brother, Alfred White of Greensboro; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Archdale United Methodist Church by the Rev. Mary John Dye and the Rev. Harold Shives. Burial will be in Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery. The body will be at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale, until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Members of the Adult Fellowship Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Anne Young
Martinsville,Va.
Mrs. Anne Franck Young, 72, formerly of Fayetteville and High Point, N.C. died Nov. 1, 2000, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
She was born, June 17, 1928, in Fayetteville, N.C., a daughter of John Howard Franck and Alice Underwood Franck, who both preceded her in death. She was married to Sherman W. 'Bud' Young, who also preceded her in death.
She attended schools in Fayetteville and Roxboro, N.C. She attended the University of North Carolina Womans College in Greensboro, N.C., and Traphagen School of Fashion in New York City. She completed her studies at Pfieffer College in Misenheimer, N.C., graduating with a bachelor of arts degree in 1958
After college, she resided in Fayetteville, where she met and married Sherman 'Bud' Young. Their two daughters, Nancy and Mary Anne were born there. The family moved to High Point in 1976. After her husband retired, she and he moved to Kings Grant, a retirement community in Martinsville, where they made many close friends.
She was a talented artist with a special love for flowers and decorating. She was a devoted wife and mother. She gave generously of herself to her family and friends, as well as to many volunteer activities in her communities. She was an active church member all her life. She will be fondly remembered by everyone whose lives she touched.
Surviving are two daughters, Nancy Young Budo and her husband, Chris, of Cary, N.C., and Mary Anne Young of High Point; a granddaughter, Caroline N. Budo; two sisters, Alice Lee Gainey and her husband, Robert, of Fayetteville and Mary Howard Downs and her husband, Sam, of Emerald Isle, N.C.; and eight nieces and nephews, Caro Lee and Scott Stapleton of Fayetteville, Teresa and Frank Holcomb of Morehead City, N.C., Mary Kay Downs of San Jose, Calif., and Sam II and Allyson Downs of Cary, N.C.

Calvin Blomer

Calvin Coolidge Blomer, 75, formerly of 1301 S. Elm St. went home to be with Jesus Nov. 2, 2000, at Piedmont Christian Home.
He was born Jan. 12, 1925, in Paducah, Ky., a son of Thomas Bruce and Vinnie May Holman Blomer. He had been a resident of High Point since 1943. He retired from Davis Furniture Inc. and was a member of Old Pathway Baptist Church.
Surviving are a sister, Mavis Sutton of High Point; a brother, Thomas Ed Blomer of High Point; six nieces, two very special, Judy Bullins of Kernersville and June Sneed of Trinity; four nephews, one very special, John Blomer of Kernersville; and several cousins.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Old Pathway Baptist Church, 300 E. Springfield Road, by the Rev. Houston Tilley. Burial will be in Floral Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-9 tonight at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale, and other times at the residence of Judy Bullins, 1608 Banbridge Road, Kernersville.

Colvin Brower
Trinity
Colvin Franklin 'Bud' Brower, 77, of 3365 Miller Farm Drive died Nov. 3, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital, after several months of declining health.
He was born July 23, 1923, in Norman, a son of Foster and Lillie Comer Brower, who both preceded him in death. He was a resident of Trinity for the past 40 years. He retired from the U.S. Navy, after serving 21 years. He served during World War II and the Korean War as a chief damage controller. After his military career, he owned and operated Bud's Produce for 12 years. On Jan. 17, 1952, he married the former Dorothy Floyd, who survives of the residence.
Also surviving are three children, Cathy Brower Schober of Asheboro, Baxter Franklin Brower and his wife, Deborah, and Foster T. Brower and his wife, Debbie, all of Greensboro; a brother, J. Cliff Brower and his wife, Marlene, of Archdale; five sisters, Mrs. Robert (Faye) Allen of Star, Mrs. Clement (Margaret) Comer of Seagrove, Mrs. Jack (Iris) Hill, Mrs. Clara Nance and Mrs. Edsel (Colleen) Bulla, all of Asheboro: three grandchildren; Jennifer Schober, Danielle Brower and Will Brower; and a great-granddaughter, Jordan Pruitt.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale, by the Rev. Chris Bennett and the Rev. Hearth Kennedy. Burial will be in Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home.
