Willie Gray Coe, 94, of 1510 Shady Grove Church Road went to be with the Lord Nov. 2, 2000.
He was born Feb. 17, 1906, in Stokes County, a son of William Thomas Coe and Martha Jane Coe. He was a faithful member of Bethany United Church of Christ for over 60 years. He was a farmer and retired from Unique Furniture Co. On Nov. 24, 1928, he was married to Miss Mary Lourona Draughn, who preceded him in death in 1980. He also was preceded in death by a sister, Pearl Callaway, and a brother, John R. Coe.
Surviving are two daughters, Ms. Margaret Clark and her friend, Harold Calahan, both of Winston-Salem, and Mrs. Harold (Shelby) Smith of High Point; two sons, Marvin Coe and his wife, Barbara, and Calvin Coe and his wife, Dorothy, all of Winston-Salem; a brother, Coy A. Coe of Winston-Salem; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Bethany United Church of Christ by the Rev. Robert Thurston and the Rev. Banks Shepherd. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Visitation will be 6:30-8:30 tonight at the funeral home and other times at the residence of a son, Marvin Coe, 842 Shady Grove Church Road, Winston-Salem.
The family wishes to thank the staff of the Oaks of Thomasville and the nurses on 6th Floor West of Forsyth Hospital in Winston-Salem for their love and care for their dad.

Margaret Dixon

Mrs. Margaret Linville Dixon, 67, of Courtney Lane died Nov. 3, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.
She was born Nov. 27, 1932, in Forsyth County, a daughter of George and Mattie Ziglar Linville. She was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith. On Feb. 17, 1953, she married Donald Dixon Sr., who survives of the residence.
Also surviving are two sons, Donnie Dixon Jr. of Thomasville and Jeffrey Dixon and his wife, Kristianne of High Point; a granddaughter, Samantha Dixon of High Point; three brothers, Bill Jones of Indianapolis, Ind., Arthur Linville of Winston-Salem and Columbus Linville of Wilmington, Del.
Graveside service will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Floral Garden Park Cemetery by the Rev. Jack Luther. Visitation will be 7-9 tonight at the residence, 7151 Courtney Lane.

Mrs. Hattie Mae Weaver Eagle, 86, of 920 Hasty School Road, died Nov. 1, 2000, at Graybrier Nursing Center.
She was born Nov. 25, 1913, in Lexington, a daughter of John David Weaver and Ethel Mae Brewer Weaver. She was a lifelong resident of this area. She was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, a former Sunday School teacher, a former member of the choir and a member of the United Methodist Women. She organized a Bible study club for the children in her neighborhood, which met weekly in her residence for numerous years. She also was a member of the Hasty Garden Club. She was employed with Belk Yates in Thomasville prior to her employment with J.C. Penney Department Store in High Point, from which she retired. On June 15, 1933, she was married to John Henry Eagle Sr., who preceded her in death May 12, 2000.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Kevil (Carolyn) Hughes of Lexington and Mrs. Bernard (Mary Louise) Chapman of Thomasville; a son, John Henry Eagle Jr. of Kingston, Nova Scotia, Canada; 10 grandchildren, Christina Hughes Walters, Maureen Eagle Aalders, Brenda Burton, Kelvin Hughes, Stephen Eagle, Jonathan Iselin, Jathaniel Iselin, Brenda Thompson, Bernie Chapman and Tammy Chapman; 13 great-grandchildren, Christiana Walters, Breanne Aalders, Brennan Aalders, Anthony Hughes, Corrina Walters, Emilie Hughes, Makenna Iselin, Candice Burton, Onawa Thompson, Anthony Hammonds, Daniel Hammonds, Wesley Chapman and Mattthew Eagle; and a very dear friend, Mary B. Wilson of McLean, Va., who was like a sister to her.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church by the Rev. B. Joe Parker. The body will be at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Leonard Franklin Gray, 68, of 4808 Archdale Road died Nov. 2, 2000, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, where he was a patient one week.
He was born in Trinity, a son of John Henry Gray Sr. and Clara Kearns Gray, who both preceded him in death. He was an active member of St. Mary's United Methodist Church, United Methodist Men and served on the church trustee board. He was an employee at Carson International. He was preceded in death by an infant sister, and a brother, John Henry Gray Jr. Dec. 26, 1948.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Rose Monger Gray, of the residence; two sons, Leonard E. Gray of High Point and Terry Gray and his wife, Jennifer, of Sumter, S.C.; a stepson, Russell DeShield and his wife, Famatta, of High Point; two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Tate and Mrs. Tracey Barr and her husband, Preston, all of Thomasville; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

James Taylor

James Samuel Taylor, 82, formerly of 10654 Archdale Raod, Trinity, died Nov. 2, 2000, at Tru-Care Inc. after several months of declining health.
He was born March 12, 1918, in Stokes County, a son of John Henry and Minnie Coleman Taylor. Since 1961, he was a resident of the Archdale and Trinity area. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II in Italy. He retired from Jones Frame Co. and was a member of Mt. Olive Wesleyan Church. He was married to Edith Rosetta Denny Taylor, who preceded him in death Aug. 5, 1996.
Surviving are a son, James Timothy Taylor and his wife, Karen, of 4791 Pliney Farlow Road, Trinity; a sister, Mrs. Vera Pleasants of Greensboro; and two grandchildren, Laura Michelle Taylor and Michael Timothy Taylor.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Olive Wesleyan Church by the Rev. Garland McDowell. Burial will be in Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale.

Barry Williams, 57, of Longbranch Trail died at 1:40 p.m. Friday at High Point Regional Hospital after a sudden illness.

Thomas Brown

Thomas Henry Brown, 87, of Graybrier Nursing Center and formerly of 5923 Welborn Rd., died Nov. 3, 2000, at the nursing center.
He was born Oct. 17, 1913, in Randolph County, a son of John and Stella Winslow Brown. He had been a resident of this area for most of his life. He was a self-employed truck driver and a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the Men's Bible Class. In 1937, he was married to the former Mary Grace Jarvis, who survives of the Graybrier Nursing Center.
Also surviving are his close relatives, Billy Brown Jr. and his family of Trinity, Deborah Hayes of New Caney, Texas, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Hopewell United Methodist Church by the Rev. R. L. Witty. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will be at their respective homes. The body will be at the funeral home until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service.

Brian Kent Hall, 45, of 5637 Tom Hill Road, died Nov. 2, 2000.
He was born Feb. 10, 1955, in Guilford County, a son of Kent and Ramona Haney Hall. He was employed with Food Lion, Inc., and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He was a volunteer with Communities in School. On Nov. 5, 1977, he married the former Gayle Willard, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are three children, Odessa J. Hall, Melinda S. Hall and Aaron B. Hall, all of the residence; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kent Hall, of High Point; and two brothers, Wayne Hall of High Point and Keith Hall of Greensboro.
Memorial service will be 7 p.m. Monday at Trinity Baptist Church by the Rev. Kenneth Evans. Burial will be private.

Rev. Eddie Hughes

The Rev. Eddie C. Hughes, pastor of Pearson Memorial AME Church, died Nov. 3, 2000, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
He was a native of Fayetteville and a graduate of the University of Maryland. He had been a resident of the Triad area for the past 10 years and had served as pastor in various AME churches, including St. John in Raleigh, Payne Chapel in Hillsbrough, Persimmon Grove in Greensboro, Bethel in Reidsville and St. James in Winston-Salem. He was also an employee of Johnson and Sons Funeral Home in Reidsville.
Surviving are two daughters, Ms. Grace R. Davis of Fayetteville and Ms. Barrie Monica Hughes of Alexandria, Va.; three grandchildren, Sgt. Donnell L. Ray of Fort Polk, La., Taneisha Townsend and Preston Davis, both of Fayetteville; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Retha L. Douglas and her husband, Walter, of Bloomfield Hills, Mich.; and other relatives and friends.

Mark Edward McInnis, 33, of 2235-B Shadow Valley Road, died Nov. 3, 2000, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 15, 1967, in High Point, a son of Jimmy Scott and Lenora McInnis. He was a graduate of Ragsdale High School. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Huster and Asalee McInnis.
Surviving are his wife, Janie Wright McInnis; his son, Mario McInnis; three daughters, Miss Kelly McInnis, Miss Rashanna Barrino and Miss Kristian McInnis; three sisters, Angela McInnis of LaGrange, Mrs. Sheila Medley, and her husband, Patrick, of Richmond, Va., and Mrs. Brenda Dixon and her husband, John, of High Point; parents-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Wright; brother-in-law, Jeff Wright; special friends Kim Jiggetts and Amanda Neal; and aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Mrs. Virginia Lorraine Lethco Walls, 63, of 3106 Wayne Ave., died Nov. 4, 2000, at her residence following one year of declining health.
She was born Jan. 17, 1937, in Guilford County. A resident of High Point most of her life, she was retired from Sellers Quilting Co. and attended Hope Chapel Baptist Church. In January 1970, she married James Walls, who survives of the residence.
Also surviving are one sister, Nancy Jeanette Sellers, and her husband, William, of Archdale; five sisters-in-law, Irene Davis and Faye Cross, both of Randleman, Gracie Tysinger of Hardeeville, S.C., Dorothy Smith and Martha Strayghn, both of Trinity; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale by the Rev. Joseph Bare. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home.
Florence Weavil

Mrs. Florence Snider Weavil, 81, of 1277 Georgetown Road, died at 1:45 p.m. Nov. 4, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital following declining health of several months.
She was born Feb. 15, 1919, in Davidson County, a daughter of Carl Luther Snider Sr. and Ella Beck Snider. A homemaker, she had been a resident of the Kernersville vicinity most of her life. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Character Builders Sunday School Class and a former member of the Wesleyan Service Guild. On June 28, 1952, she was married to Homer R. Weavil, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are one son, Victor S. Workman of Baltimore, and two sisters, Mrs. Kate Austin of 513 North Ave., High Point, and Patsy Miller of Lexington.
She was preceded in death by a son, Carlton A. Workman; three sisters, Edith Newby, Louise Moore and Geraldine Miller; and three brothers, Clifford Snider, Hayden Snider and C.L. Snider Jr.
Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at Christ United Methodist Church by Dr. Glenn L. Myers and the Rev. Lloyd Hunsucker. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The body will remain at Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home, and other times at the North Avenue home of the sister.

Donald Williams

Donald Lee Williams, 63, of 6730 Turnpike Road, died Nov. 3, 2000, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
He was born Dec. 25, 1936, in Guilford County, a son of John Leonard and Rachel Ailene Hutchens Williams. He had been a resident of the High Point and Archdale area all his life. He was a 1955 graduate of High Point Central High School, had served in the National Guard in High Point in 1960 and 1961 and was a member of the Albertson Road Baptist Church. He owned and operated Williams Quality Plywood, Inc., and later was employed by Highland House showroom. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Ailene Williams Peace, on Dec. 18, 1997. On March 25, 1961, he was married to the former Margaret Roberts, who survives of the residence.
Also surviving are a daughter, Lynne Hoover, and her husband, Dale, of Archdale; a granddaughter, Alex Hoover; two sisters, Billie Williams Wilson of High Point and Betty Stafford of Thomasville; his mother-in-law, Ethel Roberts McCormick, and her husband, George, of Conway, S.C.; a sister-in-law, Janet English and her husband, Kevin, of Archdale; several special nieces and nephews; and a special group of friends.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale by the Rev. Stephen Welborn. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 tonight at the funeral home, and at the residence at other times.
