Judy Sandvig
High Point - Mrs. Judy Bass Sandvig, 72, of 2403 Wilkes St. died Oct. 25, 1999, at High Point Regional Hospital, after several years of declining health.
She was born March 27, 1927, in Sampson County, a daughter of Claudie and Minnie Tew Bass. A resident of High Point since 1973, she had previously been a dietitian with the Rockford Memorial Hospital in Rockford, Ill., for 14 years. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. On Aug. 25, 1952, she married Ernest “Sandy” A. Sandvig, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are one son, Jerry Parker of Summerville; one sister, Mrs. Gracie Davis of Mt. Olive; two brothers, the Rev. Elwood Faircloth of High Point and Earl T. Faircloth of Thomasville; four granddaughters, Patricia Estes, Lynn Butler, Donna Souther and Lisa Weatherford; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale by the Rev. Bill V. Barnes. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, N.C. 27262.
Nicatie Aldridge
Greensboro - Nicatie D. Aldridge, 90, of 2723 Darden St. died Oct. 27, 1999, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Lynwood Lakes Baptist Church with the Rev. John Davis, Dr. Wayne Hall and the Rev. Eddie Souther officiating. Burial will be at Guilford Memorial Park.
She was a member of Lynwood Lakes Baptist Church and a former member of Pinecroft Baptist Church. She was a member of the Jacob Stroud Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Stroudsburg, Pa., and the Famous Poets Society. She was a beautician working out of her home.
Nicatie was preceded in death by her first husband, Ray Davis, and her second husband, A.C. Aldridge.
She is survived by her son, the Rev. John Davis of Greensboro; a daughter, Lavonne Kupice of Tuscon, Ariz.; a brother, S.E. Trent of Statesville; sisters, Loretta Davis of High Point, Nelda Rae Neeves of Fla. and Marcie Hare of Charlotte. Nicatie also is survived by six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Lynwood Lakes Baptist Church.
Hanes-Lineberry Vanstory Street Chapel is serving the family.
Ronnie Bowers
Butner - Ronnie Lee Bowers, 46, died Oct. 30, 1999, at the Murdoch Center following an extended illness.
He was born in High Point on July 16, 1953, the beloved son of Vernie and Wanda Ellison Bowers.
Surviving are his mother, Wanda E. Bowers of Thomasville; a sister, Linda Douglas and her husband, Allen, of Thomasville; a brother, Donnie L. Bowers of the Murdoch Center; two nieces; and a nephew.
Graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery by the Rev. Marcus Campbell and the Rev. Bob Hiatt. The family will be at the home of Bowers’ mother. Memorials should be directed to the Infirmary or the Alpine Cottage, c/o the Murdoch Center, P.O. Box 3000, Butner, N.C. 27509. Harold C. Davis Funeral Home in High Point is serving the family.
James Chambers
High Point - Jimmy” Douglas Chambers, 58, of 2509 E. Kivett Drive died Friday in High Point Regional Hospital.
He was the son of the late James Dallas Chambers and Hazel Hemric Chambers who survives and was married on Oct. 29, 1965, to Connie Garner Chambers of the home. He was born in Guilford County on March 29, 1941, and worked with the city of High Point Water Works. He also attended First Church of Christ.
Surviving are his wife, of the home; his mother, Hazel Chambers of Jamestown; one daughter, Michelle Chambers Hamilton of High Point; one son, Jeffrey Scott Chambers of the home; one sister, Doris Feeney of Jamestown; one brother, James “Rick” Chambers of High Point.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Cumby Family Funeral Service of High Point and conducted by the Rev. Allen Brown. Burial will be follow in Guilford Memorial Park. Visitation will 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the residence of the daughter, 307 E. Farris Ave. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to First Church of Christ, 301 E. Lexington Ave., High Point, N.C. 27262.
Albert Faulkner
High Point - Albert Woodruff Faulkner, 77, of 2124-D Chester Ridge Drive died Oct. 30, 1999, at High Point Regional Hospital.
He was born Dec. 2, 1921, in High Point, the son of David and Clara Chunn Faulkner. In 1981, he retired from Duke Power Company after 36 years of service. He was employed with Parts Depot and was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Christ Community Church. On Feb. 15, 1960, he married Edith Freeman and she survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son Jimmie D. Faulkner and wife, Edna, of High Point; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Judy Robertson Mabe of Jamestown; one stepson, Keith Robertson and wife, Linda, of Charleston, S.C.; three stepgrandchildren, Terri Webb, Chris Robertson and Brian Mabe; and one stepgreat-grandson, Ethan Zane.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Floral Garden Park Cemetery by the Rev. Jeffrey Palmer.
The body will remain at Sechrest Funeral Home on E. Lexington Avenue and the family will receive friends before the service at the funeral home 12:30-1:30 p.m. Monday.

Steve Hassapelis
High Point - Steve Dan Hassapelis, 70, of 1414 Guyer St. died Oct. 30, 1999, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
He was born Dec. 9, 1928, in High Point, the son of Dan and Helen Koutzabasis Hassapelis. His father and mother were one of the first Greek families to reside in High Point. He was co-owner of the Village Cafe at College Village Shopping Center. He was a member of America Hellenic Association and a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church. On Sept. 25, 1955, he married Kiki Perrou and she survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Sophia Hassapelis Hooper and her husband, Reid, of High Point; and three grandchildren, Zefy Sarrimanolis, Michael-Reid Hooper and Stephen Daniel Hooper.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Helen Hassapelis Sarrimanolis.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at St. George Greek Orthodox Church by Father Dennis Canavos. Interment will be in Oakwood Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Sechrest Funeral Home on E. Lexington Avenue 7-8:30 p.m. tonight.

Margaret Hill
Archdale - Mrs. Margaret Edwards Hill, 85, of 411 Eden Terrace died Oct. 27, 1999, at her home.
She was born July 9, 1914, in High Point, the daughter of Luther Eugene and Effie Ward Edwards. She has been a resident of Archdale since 1958. She was retired from Amos Hosiery after 51 years of service. She was a longtime member of Green Street Baptist Church and had been active serving in the nursery. On Sept. 18, 1937, she married Edwin Evans Hill and he preceded her in death on June 18, 1996.
Surviving are one son, Roger E. Hill and wife, Karen, of Jamestown; one sister, Mrs. Aldine E. Royal of Eden; a brother, Forest E. Edwards of High Point; two granddaughters, Terri Rene Hill and Jennifer Hill Carter and husband, John; and one great-granddaughter, Dakota Marie Carter.
Funeral service will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Green Street Baptist Church by the Rev. Gene A. Phillips, the Rev. Bruce E. Peterson and the Rev. Harvey Rowe. Interment will be at Floral Garden Park Cemetery.
The family will receive family and friends at Sechrest Funeral Home on E. Lexington Avenue from 7-8:30 p.m. Monday and at other times at the home of the son, 7002 E. Riverbend Court, Jamestown, N.C.

Jesse Lee
High Point - Jesse Barnard Lee, 64, of 3600-A Luck Drive died Oct. 28, 1999, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
He was born June 29, 1999, in Swaim County, a son of William Otis and Catherine Southards Lee. He was a retired employee of Alma Desk Co., where he worked as a supervisor. He was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are two daughters, the former Debbie Lee and the former Melinda Lee; three sons, Marty Lee and Vincent Lee, both of Valdese, and Jason Lee of High Point; four sisters, Wilma Reeves and Pearley Blevins, both of Archdale, Shirley Medford of High Point and Faye Leonard of Whiteville; two brothers, Paul Lee of Jamestown and Randall Lee of Thomasville; and several grandchildren.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Sechrest Archdale Chapel by the Rev. Amos Mashburn. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home, 120 Trindale Road, Archdale.
Imojean Orr
High Point - Mrs. Imojean Gilliland Orr, 67, resident of 818 W. Fairfield Road died 11:30 p.m. Friday at her residence. She had been in declining health for several months.
She was born June 25, 1932, in Tuscaloosa, Ala., a daughter of Genroy and Elma Homan Gilliland. She had been a resident of High Point for the past 35 years and was a former employee of Tallent Sportswear. On March 14, 1981, she married Thomas William Orr who survives of the home.
Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Vautense Burnett of Cottondale, Ala., Mrs. Billie Lett of Northport, Ala., Mrs. Sybile Corbel of Holt, Ala. and Mrs. Nell Smith o Tuscaloosa, Ala.; five brothers, Arbilee Gilliand of Cleveland, Tenn., Roy Daniel Gilliland of High Point, Shirley Gilliand of Bessemer City, Ala., David and Ardell Gilliland both of Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday by the Rev. Franklin “Bud” McDowell in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale. Interment will follow in the Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends 3:30-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
James Biesecker
Lexington - James W. Biesecker, 61, died Nov. 3, 1999.
He is survived by wife, Darlene B. Biesecker.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Second Presbyterian Church. Visitation is 7-9 tonight at Piedmont Funeral Home.
Margaret Crawford
High Point - Margaret Ramsey Crawford, 78, a resident of the Graybriar Nursing Home died Nov. 3, 1999.
She was born Jan. 28, 1921, in Greensboro, a daughter of John Adams and Martha Ellen Stutts Ramsey. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
On May 26, 1937, she was married to Cecil Crawford who preceded her in death on Sept. 28, 1965.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Pat Bullock and her husband, James, of Oxford; four sons, Dr. Robert Crawford and his wife, Tucker, of High Point, Larry Crawford and his wife, Diane, of Warner-Robbins, Ga., Tom Crawford and his wife, Linda, of West Palm Beach, Fla., John Crawford and his wife, Mendi, of High Point and Southport; a sister, Mrs. Arlene Walker and her husband, Alton, of Greensboro; two brothers, Jack Ramsey and is wife, Boots, of Hampstead, Harold Ramsey and his wife, Mary, of Greensboro; 10 grandchildren, Kim Bullock, Laurie Cody, Margaret Subers, Mary Howard, Kelly Crawford, Adam Crawford, Elizabeth Crawford, Carolina Crawford, Jon Burris, Leigh Burris; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Durham conducted by the Rev. Crate Jones. The body will at Sechrest Funeral Home on E. Lexington Avenue. The family will receive friends at the home of her son Dr. Robert Crawford, 132 Prestwick Drive from 7 to 9 tonight.
