Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Marlboro Friends Meeting Cemetery. Visitation will be 12:30-1:30 p.m. Thursday at Pugh Funeral Home.

Grady Cash
Thomasville
Grady Moody Cash, 73, of SunBridge Rehabilitation Center in Lexington, formerly of Carter Drive, died Nov. 13, 2000, at the home.
He was born May 20, 1927, in Monroe, Ga., a son of Arthur Henry Cash and Ruemma Moody Cash. He was a resident of Davidson County the majority of his life. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post 87 in High Point. He was owner and operator of G&K Printing of Thomasville. He attended Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church and was a lifetime member of the Masons.
On Aug. 1, 1947, he was married to Miss Mary Kathleen Sanders, who preceded him in death Jan. 20, 2000.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Mickey (Ann) Black of Thomasville; two sons, Charles Grady Cash and his wife, Mika, of Richmond, Va., and Arthur Paul Cash and his wife, Cheryl, of Thomasville; seven grandchildren, Charles Grady Cash II, Christopher Gus Cash, Nicole Mari Cash, Colleen Emma Cash, Mickey Lane Black, Jr., Mary Anitra Black and Tyler Elizabeth Cash; and two great-grandchildren, Brianna Lynn Cash and Charles Grady Cash III.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church by the Rev. E. Keith Carroll and the Rev. Carroll Upton. Burial will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The body will be at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Visitation will be 7-9 tonight at the funeral home and other times at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Mickey (Ann) Black, 124 Kaylan Lane, Thomasville.
Memorials may be directed to Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church, Building Fund, 222 Mt. Zion Church Road, Thomasville, N.C. 27360.

George Comer
Asheboro
George S. Comer, 90, died Nov. 14, 2000, at SunBridge of Asheboro after several years of declining health.
He was born Dec. 12, 1909, in Moore County, a son of John Henry and Artimitia Cagle Comer, who both preceded him in death. He retired from Klopman-Burlington Mills and was a member of Glenola Baptist Church.
He also was preceded in death by his wife, Harriet Tillotson Comer; an infant son; four brothers, Grady Comer, Earnest Comer, John Comer and George Comer; and four sisters, Emma Garner, Rona Comer, Onnie Donathan and Mary Eason.
Surviving are two brothers, Lacy Comer and his wife, Sue, of High Point and W.C. Comer and his wife, Lucille, of High Point; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, all who loved him dearly.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Harold C. Davis Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Douglas Davis. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home.

Martha Creasey
High Point
Mrs. Martha Basinger Creasey, 84, of 701 S. Elm St. died Nov. 13, 2000, at her residence.
She was born June 18, 1916, in Jacksonville, Fla., a daughter of Joseph and Minnie Conner Basinger, who both preceded her in death. She was a resident of High Point the majority of her life and was a member of Springfield Friends Meeting. She was married to Lester Harold Creasey, who preceded her in death in 1970. She also was preceded in death by a son, Donald Creasey, in 1996, and two sisters, Thelma Branch and Coryliss Jones.
Surviving are a daughter, Dorothy Ingram, of the residence; a daughter-in-law, Maxie Creasey of Trinity; a sister, Dorothy Allred of High Point; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several loving nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Springfield Friends Meeting Cemetery by the Rev. Bobby L. Loving. There will be no visitation.
Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale, is in charge of arrangements.

Wanda Dyles
Thomasville
Mrs. Wanda Lou Hammonds Dyles, 65, of 802 Mendenhall St. died Nov. 14, 2000, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 19, 1934, in Church Hill, Tenn., a daughter of Jasper and Dora Wilmoth Hammonds. She was a resident of High Point prior to moving to Thomasville in 1964. She was a former employee of Royals Inc. in High Point and retired from Acme Sample Book in High Point. She attended Faith Baptist Church. On July 15, 1950, she was married to Frank Daniel Dyles, who survives of the residence.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Greg (Linda) Honeycutt of Charlotte; two sons, Daniel Ray Dyles and his wife, Tammy, of Thomasville and Randy Clinton Dyles and his wife, Cricket, of Greensboro; three sisters, Mrs. Hazel Keene of Richmond, Va., Mrs. Curtis (Shirley) Arnold of Church Hill, Tenn., and Mrs. Ray (Beatrice) Akens of Virginia Beach, Va.; three grandchildren, Gary Craven, Elisha Dyles and Adam Dyles; and three great-grandchildren, Courtney Morgan Dyles, Jessica Craven and Alyson Craven.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Floral Garden Park Cemetery by the Rev. Rodney Smith. The body will be at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home until the hour of service. Visitation will be 6:30-9 tonight at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
Memorials may be directed to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Dr., High Point, N.C. 27262.

Kenneth Darrell Hamilton, 59, of Seagrove died Nov. 14, 2000.

Mrs. Elsie Huffstetler Hartman, 71, formerly of Walkertown, died Nov. 14, 2000, at Arbor Acres, Triad United Methodist Home.

Mrs. Madge Holmes McNeil, 82, of 1213 Lakeview Heights died Nov. 13, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.
She was born in Lee County, S.C., a daughter of Mary Holmes Charles, who preceded her in death. She resided in High Point 65 years and was a homemaker. She was a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church. She also was preceded in death by a son, George McNeil.
Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Walter McNeil Sr. of the residence; six sons, Walter McNeil Jr. and his wife, Billie, of Sanford, Charles McNeil of Raleigh, James E. McNeil of Larissa, Greece, the Rev. Ernest McNeil and his wife, Stephanie, and Frank McNeil and his wife, Barbara, all of Springfield, Ill., and Lawrence Graves and his wife, Mary, of High Point; an aunt, Mrs. Susie Hart of Hoffman; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Phyllis McNeil of High Point; a brother-in-law, Willie J. McNeil and his wife, Elsie, of Wilmington; and a number of cousins and friends.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Carolina Biblical Gardens by the Rev. F.O. Bass Jr.

Laurie Pritchett
High Point
Laurie Pritchett, 73, of Chestnut Drive died Nov. 13, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.
He was born Dec. 9, 1926, in Griffin, Ga., a son of Charlie and Ida Denham Pritchett. He attended Auburn University and South Georgia College on athletic scholarships. He was a graduate of the FBI National Academy and the Southern Police Institute at the University of Louisville. He rose from a patrolman to detective in the early 1950s in Griffin, and later served as chief of police in Newnan and Albany, Ga., between 1959 and 1966.
He came to High Point as chief of police in 1966 and served until his retirement in 1975. He was a member of the International Chiefs of Police, the N.C. Peace Officers Association, the Georgia Peace Officers and the Rotary Club. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served with the 82nd Airborne Division. He was named by “Time” magazine as one of the best police chiefs in the South.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Dulligan Pritchett of the residence; a daughter, Teresa Pritchett Owens of High Point; three sons, and their wives, Lawrence D. and Margot Pritchett, Daniel W. and Carolyn Pritchett and Michael C. and Beth Pritchett, all of High Point; two sisters, Polly P. Autry and Wilma P. Daniels, both of Griffin; and nine grandchildren.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Sechrest Funeral Service Chapel, E. Lexington Avenue, High Point, by James B. Noble. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home and other times at the residence of his daughter, Teresa Owens, 505 Florham Drive.
Honorary pallbearers will be Shaw Cook, George T. Tate, Bobby Lee Davis, Eli A. Peresta, Stewart Hartley, Van McSwain and Jerry Streetman. Additional honorary pallbearers will be law enforcement officers attending the services.

Dorothy Samuels

Mrs. Dorothy “Cokie” Cleo Samuels, 80, formerly of 722 Forrest St. died at 8:20 p.m. Nov. 13, 2000, at the Presbyterian Home.
She was born Dec. 20, 1919, in Guilford County, a daughter of Albert Phillip and Josie Leona Robinson Samuels. She was a homemaker and a resident of High Point the majority of her life. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by a sister, Daisy Samuels Welch; and four brothers, Jesse G. Samuels, Albert P. Ray Samuels, Roland Samuels and Ross Samuels.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Snowie S. Moser of 1903-G N. Centennial St. and Mrs. Billie S. Keever of Greenville, S.C.; three brothers, R. Woodrow Samuels of 1548 Ann Arbor Ct., Paul O. Samuels of 218 Spencer St. and Robert R. Samuels of Charlotte; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Floral Garden Park Cemetery by the Rev. Don Lloyd.
Memorials may be directed to the Presbyterian Home, 201 Greensboro Road, High Point, N.C. 27260.

Joseph Charles Edwards, infant son of Ronnie and Tiffany Edwards, of 413 Mandusty St. died Nov. 14, 2000, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

Barbara Luck

Ms. Barbara Ann “Bobbie” Luck, 58, of 417 Royal Oak St. died Nov. 15, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital after several years of declining health.
She was born Oct. 16, 1942, in High Point, a daughter of Harrison and Ruth Hutchens Luck. She was a secretary with Highland Yarn Mills for many years and was a member of Hilliard Memorial Baptist Church. She was a loving daughter, sister and aunt.
Surviving are her mother of the residence; two sisters, Ruth Ellen Luck of Greensboro and Joyce Jones of Thomasville; two nieces, Teresa Benfield of High Point and Tammy Benfield of Archdale; a nephew, Tim Benfield and his wife, Denise, of Trinity; and a great-nephew, Trevor Benfield.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Harold C. Davis Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Stephen Welborn and the Rev. Raymond Needham. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home and other times at the residence.

Rev. A. McGee
Wilmington
The Rev. Aster Lee McGee, 82, died Nov. 14, 2000, at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center in Wilmington.
He was born Dec. 23, 1917, in Rural Hall, a son of W.W. and Penelope “Nelly” McGee, who both preceded him in death. He was a graduate of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in New Orleans. Throughout his life, he faithfully served the Lord as the pastor of churches in High Point, Thomasville, Cardova and Wilmington. He was the pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, Wilmington, from 1955 until he retired from the full-time ministry in 1982. After his retirement, he served as interim-pastor at numerous churches in southeastern North Carolina. He was pastor emeritus at Calvary Baptist Church. He served on numerous local and state committees of the Southern Baptist Convention. He was a loving brother, husband, father, grandfather and uncle.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Sylvia Ford McGee of the residence; two daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Charles Edens of Hampstead, and Kathy and Leon Turner of Raleigh; two sons, Johnny McGee of Summerfield and Phil McGee and his wife, Charlie, of Wrightsville Beach; seven grandchildren, David and Chris Murray of Atlanta, Ga., and Charlotte respectively, Philip McGee, Samantha and Hunter McGee, all of Wrightsville Beach, Kristen and Rachel Turner of Raleigh; two adopted children, Peggy and Shelton Evans of Castle Hayne and their daughter, Kim, and son-in-law, Wayne Moser and their son, Kyle Moser of Hope Mills; dear friends of the family, Bruce Thede of Greensboro and Jeff Parks of Wilmington; a sister, Dorothy Rule of Winston-Salem; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives in the High Point, Winston-Salem and Thomasville areas.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Oleander Memorial Gardens, 306 Bradley Drive. Visitation will be 6-9 tonight at Andrews Mortuary, 1617 Market St.
