Emma Frye
High Point - Emma Jane Blake Frye, 95, of 530 Ridgecrest Drive died Nov. 3, 1999, at her home.
She was born Oct. 12, 1904, in Moore County, a daughter of Robert Franklin and Ella Parsons Frye. She was a resident of High Point most of her life, and was employed by Melrose Hosiery Mill for 39 years, retiring in 1962. She was a member of Rankin Memorial United Methodist Church and charter member of Christian Fellowship Class. On July 9, 1927, she married D.E. Frye. He preceded her in death on January 20, 1977.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Edith Ingold of 1208 Carolina St. and Miss Catherine Frye of the home; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Rankin Memorial United Methodist Church by the Rev. Lee Pollock. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at Sechrest Funeral Service on E. Lexington Ave. and other times at the home a daughter, Mrs. Edith Ingold, 1208 Carolina St.

Leroy Graham
High Point - Leroy “Skinner” Graham, 74, of 914 Willoubar Terrace died Nov. 2, 1999, at High Point Regional Hospital.
He was born Oct. 4, 1925, at Bennettsville, S.C., a son to William and Beulah (Davis) Graham. He graduated from Brightsville School in Bennettsville, S.C., and was retired from Jiffy Manufacturing Inc. He was a deacon at Miracle Temple Holiness Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Cleo Worley and Annie Douglas Worley; and two brothers, Lince Baldwin and W.C. Graham.
He is survived by his wife, Fannie Bright; three sons, Clarence M. Graham (Gloria) of Woodsbridge, Va.; Lee Carcille Foye (Darlene) of Willingboro, N.J., and Orlando M. Bright (Velma) of High Point; four daughters, Ms. Helen Lloyd of the home, Mrs. Remona McFadden, Callie Boyd, and Mrs. Gloria Thomas of Cedarhill, Texas; a brother, William Graham; three sisters, Bessie Bright of Baltimore, Md., Mary E. Williams of Bennettsville, S.C.; 26 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; “faithful newph“ Freddie Peguese; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends 1-2 p.m. Saturday at Living Water Baptist Church and other times at 914 Willoubar Terrace. Funeral will be conducted by Pastor Roy C. Alston of Miracle Temple at 2 p.m. Saturday at Living Waters Baptist Church. Burial will be in Floral Gardens.

High Point - Judy Elaine Holt, 46, died Nov. 3, 1999, at High Point Regional Hospital.
She was born in Wadesboro, Feb. 19, 1953, a daughter of Robert Cox and Laura Teal Reid.
Surviving are her husband, James Holt; two sons, James Holt and Joshua Moss; a daughter, Tracy Vazquez; her father of Yuma, Ariz.; two brothers, Thomas Reid of Jamestown and Jeff Reid of Winston-Salem; a sister, Angela Ramirez of Winston-Salem; and six grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Harold C. Davis Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Harold Bumby. Visitation will be held 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Susie Hyatt
High Point - Susie Whitaker Hyatt, 87, of Presbyterian Home died Nov. 4, 1999.
She was born in Surry County on Jan. 9, 1912, to the late Manus A. and Josephine Dinkins Whitaker. She was a member of the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Archdale and was a retired beautician. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman M. Hyatt, and a daughter, Louise Hyatt Wood.
Surviving are a daughter, Carole Hyatt Grassman of Trinity; a son, Brent H. Hyatt of Randleman; five grandchildren, Angela McDonald, Susan Wood Klingsmith, Joe B. Wood Jr., Vicky Wood Roach, Amy Elizabeth Hewett; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Irene W. Johnson of Dobson.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Mt. Hermon Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Her body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Visitation will be 7-9 tonight at Davis & Son Funeral Home in Dobson.

Lexington - Eula Mae Ross, 81, of Britthaven of Albemarle died Nov. 3, 1999, in Stanley County Hospital in Albemarle.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. today at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Lexington City Cemetery.
Murray Wilson
High Point - Mrs. Murray Quick Wilson, 72, of 421 White Oak St. died Nov. 2, 1999, at High Point Regional Hospital.
She was born June 12, 1927, in Bennettsville, S.C., a daughter to John and Minnie Thomas Quick. She had been employed at Bojangles and Scott Parker. She was educated in Marlboro County Schools and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Wilson and her parents.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Barbara Archie (Christopher); three brothers, Prentiss Quick, John T. Quick of Roxboro and Leroy Quick of Bennettsville, S.C.; three sisters, Mary Quick, Mary Jordan (Melvin) and Minnie White; three grandchildren, Cornelius Wilson, Marquita Wilson and Carletta Archie; and a host of nieces and nephews, 29 great nieces and nephews and 22 great-great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 2:30-3 p.m. Saturday at Friendship Baptist Church and other times at 421 White Oak St. Funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Friendship Baptist Church with the Rev. J.W. Flake officiating. Burial will be in Carolina Biblical Gardens.
Dorothy Crater
Thomasville - Mrs. Dorothy Lawson Crater, 70, of 191 Academy Drive, died Nov. 4, 1999, at Community General Hospital.
She was born April 19, 1929, in Wentworth County, a daughter of the late Jacob Lawson and Alpha Ashley Lawson. She was a retired teacher at Carolina Christian Academy and attended Gods Bible School. She was a member of Trinity Holiness Church and was married on Nov. 24, 1962, to Dwight D. Crater, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are one son, Tim Crater and wife, Tanya, of Cincinnati; two sisters, na Christian Academy, 367 Academy Drive, Thomasville, N.C. 27360 or to Trinity Holiness Church, c/o the Rev. Arthur Swaney, 390 Mack Rd., Asheboro, N.C. 27203.
Maurie Cruthis
Jamestown - Maurice Conrad Cruthis, 75, of 5043 Harvey Road, died Nov. 4, 1999, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.
He was born April 13, 1924, in Guilford County, a son of Robert L. and Lucy Clark Cruthis. A resident of Jamestown all his life, he was employed at Oakdale Cotton Mills until his retirement. A veteran of WW II, he served in the United States Army.
Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Harold (Jewell) Young of 5050 Harvey Road; one brother, Harold Lloyd Cruthis of 6704 Arvin Road; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Sechrest Chapel in High Point by the Rev. Roy Green. Burial will be in Mitchell’s Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 until 8:30 tonight at the funeral home.

Larry Neeley
High Point - Larry W. Neeley, 54, of 718 Kroll Lane, died Nov. 4, 1999, at High Point Regional Hospital.
He was born Jan. 15, 1945, in High Point, a son of Eddie Neeley and Wilhelmina Neeley Countee. He was a supervisor at the Blacksmith Shop. He attended public schools in High Point and also attended the Manhattan Institute. He was a member of Congregational United Church of Christ and also served in the United States Army from 1964 until 1967. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alice and Johnny Patterson; and brothers, Ronald L. Neeley and Freddie G. Countee.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Eliza Rorie Neeley; a son, Chief Petty Officer Michael W. (Marsha O.) Neeley of the United Army, stationed in Belgium; three daughters, Mrs. Varonda G. (Anthony) Williams of Atlanta, Miss Sandra N. Neeley and Miss Deborah J. Neeley, both of High Point; his parents, Eddie Neeley of New York and Wilhelmina Neeley Countee of High Point; two brothers, Kenneth R. Countee and Gerald T. Countee, both of High Point; three sisters, Brenda (Fred) Mackey of Greensboro, Beverly (Joe) Miller and Veradean Countee, all of High Point; grandchildren, Avonda, Ashonda and Isaac Williams of Atlanta, Randi and Tabitha Neeley of Belgium, Diandra, Breanna Neeley and D’arius and Kiara Sanders, all of High Point; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Jeanette Rorie; two sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; one great-aunt, Catherine Threadgill; one uncle, James L. G. Robertson
High Point - Miss Gilbert Fannie Robertson, 80, of High Point Manor and formerly of Cox Avenue, died Nov. 5, 1999, at the Evergreens of High Point.
She was born Nov. 24, 1918, in Guilford County, a daughter of Ed and Minnie Lamar Robertson. She was employed at Burlington Industries, retiring in 1986, and was a member of Springfield Friends Meeting.
There are no immediate survivors but leaves behind many friends; including Barbara and Butch Moran in Archdale.
Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Springfield Friends Meeting House by the Rev. Terry G. Venable. Burial will be in Springfield Friends Cemetery. The body will remain at Sechrest Funeral Home in Archdale until placed in the church one hour before the funeral.

J. Wingfield
Thomasville - Mrs. Jeanette Louise Wingfield, beloved mother, grandma, sister and aunt, departed this life peaceful on Nov. 4, 1999, to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was 83 and a resident of 809 Dogwood Road.
She was born Aug. 14, 1916, in Martinsville, Va., the daughter of James George and Rosa Thacker George. She had lived the greater part of her life in this area. She was a homemaker. She was the Primitive Baptist Faith and attended Mount Shepherd Primitive Baptist Church in Asheboro. On July 4, 1942, she was married to Isaac Jones Wingfield, who went to be with the Lord on Sept. 22, 1997.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Evelyn) Buchanan of Thomasville; two sons, Larry Douglas Wingfield and his wife, Lillian, and Kenneth Lee Wingfield, both of Winston-Salem; twin sister, Mrs. Geneva Eggleston of Ridgeway, Va., and sisters, Mrs. Clara Roberts of Axton, Va., and Mrs. Victoria Grubbs of Richmond, Va.; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church in Patrick County, Va., with Elder Jim Moody officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Wingfield will lie in state at her home 809 Dogwood Rd. and the family will receive friends from 7 until 9 tonight at the home.
The day of the service Mrs. Wingfield will be placed in the church an hour prior to the service. The family request that memorials be directed to the Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, N.C. 27265.
