Eliza Hartman, 95, of Meadowbrook Terrace, formerly of Frye Bridge Road, Clemmons, died at 10:30 p.m. Jan. 30, 2001, at Meadowbrook Terrace in Winston-Salem.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Union Grove Baptist Church. Visitation will be 6:30-8:30 tonight at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the residence of her daughter, Lucille Leatherman, 4207 Arnold Road.

Iris Lee McCrary Jessup, 72, of U.S. 52 died Jan. 31, 2001, at her residence.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Bethesda United Methodist Church. Visitation will be 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home-Hickory Tree Chapel and other times at the residence.
Frank Johnson
Kernersville
Frank Dare Johnson, 69, died Jan. 30, 2001, at High Point Regional Hospital after declining health of several years.
He was born Oct. 4, 193l, in Stokes County, a son of Coy and Vernie Johnson. On May 27, 1949, he married Peggy Sue Bryant, who survives of the residence. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Samuel Hoover Johnson.
Also surviving are his son, Rodney O. Johnson and his wife, Kay; his brother, Coy Johnson Jr. and his wife, Eula Grey; two granddaughters, Kayla and Breanna; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be 7 p.m. Friday at Hayworth-Miller-Cain Funeral Home by the Rev. Sam Murphy. Visitation will be at the residence of his brother, 314 Linville Road.

Gladys Johnson

Mrs. Gladys Peck Johnson, 96, of the Presbyterian Home died Jan. 30, 2001, at her residence.
She was born in Middlesex County, N.J., a daughter of Tyrus Williams Peck and Isabella Carter Peck. She was a resident of High Point since 1954. She was a graduate of Fawcett School of Art and studied figure and portrait painting at the Art Student’s League of New York City. She was a member of the Huguenot Society of New Jersey, the Jamestown Society, the Society of Mayflower Descendants, The Colonial Dames of the Seventeenth Century Society, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Daughters of the American Colonists, the High Point Historical Society and the High Point Memorial Hospital Guild. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. On Feb. 18, 1926, she married Arthur L. Johnson, who preceded her in death in 1986.
Surviving are two sons, Richard “Dick” Johnson and his wife, Mary Anna, of High Point and Roger A. Johnson and his wife, Marilyn, of Metuchen, N.J.; four grandchildren, Richard A. Johnson Jr., Anna Johnson Matteo, Marsha Johnson-Kaufman and Christina Johnson Swaak; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Sechrest Chapel, E. Lexington Avenue, by the Rev. Lisa M. Mullen. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 p.m. Friday at Sechrest Funeral Home.

Lillian Mae Miller, 77, of Piedmont Retirement Center died Jan. 30, 2001, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Saturday at the church after the service.

Margaret Moldin

Mrs. Margaret B. Moldin, 79, of 2338 English Road died Jan. 30, 2001, at her residence.
She was born Dec. 5, 1921, in Guilford County, a daughter of Finley Augustus and Jesse Womack Bumgarner. She was a resident of High Point for the last 50 years and was a member of Hilliard Memorial Baptist Church. On Dec. 1, 1946, she was married to Reitzel Moldin, who survives of the residence.
Also surviving are two sons, William R. Moldin of High Point and Richard F. Moldin and his wife, Nancy, of Wilmington; two grandchildren, John Bradford Moldin of Wilmington and Tracy Ann Moldin of Raleigh; a niece, Nancy Haning and her husband, Jerry; and a great niece, Ashley Haning.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, High Point, by the Rev. Raymond Needham. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Mildred Lucille Craven Motsinger, 96, formerly of Abbotts Creek Church Road, died Jan. 30, 2001, at the residence of her daughter in Lakewood, Calif.

Mrs. Shirley Thomas Peatross, 64, of Liberty Road went to be with the Lord Jan. 31, 2001, at Graybrier Nursing and Retirement Center.
She was born June 13, 1936, in Mt. Airy, a daughter of Clarence Harper and Mary Louise Gardner Thomas. She was employed with North Carolina License Bureau for many years and later worked at High Point Bank and Trust. She was a member of Fairfield United Methodist Church, the Adult II Sunday School Class and the church choir. She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather, Carl Roscoe Barnes and her brother, Ray Thomas.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Vicki B. Fallenstein and her husband, Ted, of Signal Mountain, Tenn.; a brother, Clarence A. “Acey” Thomas and his wife, Faye, of High Point; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Fairfield United Methodist Church by the Rev. Neal Brower. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The body will be at Harold C. Davis Funeral Home until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home and other times at the residence of her brother, 7004 Bluewood Court.

Lonnie Royal

Lonnie Allen Royal, 62, of 1305-C Blair St. died Jan. 30, 2001, at High Point Regional Hospital.
He was born Feb. 20, 1938, in Yadkin County, a son of Roy A. Royal and Martha Maxine Mathis Royal. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, and served with the U.S. Army National Guard of High Point. He was formerly employed with Finch Fabricators Inc. of Thomasville. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Westmoreland Sunday School Class. On July 21, 1973, he was married to Molly Myers, who survives of the residence.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Freddie (Tamara) Leonard and Mrs. Clifford (Sabrina) Williams, both of Thomasville; a son, Keith Royal and his wife, Niki, of Salisbury; his mother of Archdale; a sister, Mrs. Debbie Ingram of Lumberton; and six grandchildren, Christina Leonard, Melissa Leonard, Elizabeth Williams, Nicholas Williams, Jesse Leonard and Natasha Coleman.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church by the Rev. David Best. Burial will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The body will be at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and other times at the residence.

Harry Duvall Singleton, 69, of the High Point Community died Jan. 30, 2001, at Conway Hospital after an illness.
He was born in Conway, a son of Cord and Beatrice Johnson Singleton, who both preceded him in death. He was a member of High Point Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Singleton of Conway; two sons, Wesley Singleton of Conway and Steven Singleton of Walhalla; two daughters, Sarah Albert of Greenville, N.C., and Denise Bass of New Bern, N.C.; seven grandchildren; five brothers, J. Coletta Singleton, Linwood Singleton, Randy Singleton and Dale Singleton, all of Conway, and the Rev. Lanier Singleton of Greenville, S.C.; and two sisters, Olene McCoy of Wilmington, N.C., and Karel Cooper and her husband, Nollie, of High Point, N.C.; stepmother, Bernice Squires of Conway; and his sister-in-law, Nancy Bundy of High Point, N.C.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday in High Point Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Mack Hutson.

Mrs. Mary Kirby Wiley, 78, died Jan. 30, 2001, at High Point Regional Hospital.
She was born May 16, 1922, in Brunswick County, a daughter of Harvey W. Kirby and Carrie Reeves Kirby. She retired from Evergreens Nursing Home in High Point as a licensed practical nurse. She was a current member of First Baptist Church in Shallotte. She was a former member of Springfield Baptist Church. She was married to Scott Wiley, who preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by her brother, Walter Kirby.
Surviving are two sons, Randy Simpson and his wife, Libby, of Woodstock, Ga., and Mitch Simpson and his wife, Amy, of Archdale; two stepdaughters, Melba McCue and Alda Sherkues of Neptune Beach, Fla.; a stepson, Scott Wiley Jr. of Neptune Beach; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Sechrest Chapel, Archdale, by the Rev. David Mabe. Graveside service and burial will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Sharon United Methodist Church Cemetery, Holden Beach. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at Sechrest Funeral Service, 120 Trindale Road, Archdale.
