William Roby “Bucky” Parsons, 73, died Feb. 10, 2001, in Meadowbrook Terrace of Davie.
Funeral service will be 4 p.m. Monday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Monday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of his sister, Ardella Everhart, on Oak Street.

Annie Ray
High Point
Ms. Annie Jean Ray, formerly of Franklin, N.C., died Feb. 9, 2001, at High Point Regional Hospital.
Surviving are two sisters, Edith Washington and Nancy Ray; two brothers, Milton Ray and Edward Ray; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial service will be held in Franklin at a later date.
Haizlip Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ethel Rickard
Lexington
Mrs. Ethel Beck Rickard, 83, of Boones Cave Road in Churchland died Feb. 10, 2001, in Meadowbrook Manor Nursing Home in Clemmons.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Snider Cemetery in Churchland. Visitation will be 6-8 Monday night at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of the three children.

M. Blaylock
Winston-Salem
Mrs. Myra Lewis Blaylock, a resident of Salemtowne Retirement Community died Feb. 3, 2001.
She was born Nov. 21, 1903, to Joel P. and Ada Lewis Blaylock of Stokes County. She was the oldest member of Marvin United Methodist Church, treasurer of Friendly Bible Class for several years and received the Life Membership Pin of United Methodist Women.
She was a 50-year member of Extension Homemakers and was an avid gardener.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Ray Blaylock, of 43 years, and by two sons, Charles Lindy and William (Bill) Blaylock.
Surviving are one daughter, Thelma B. Girard and husband, Robert W., of Advance; one son, Grover W. Blaylock and wife, Loretta, of High Point; five grandchildren, Barbara Blaylock of Rockville, Md., Shirley Downing of Winston-Salem, Lyndon Blaylock of St. Louis, Connie Davis and April Farlow of High Point; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Virginia Smith of Walnut Cove; one brother, John Lewis of Winston-Salem; and a devoted friend, Carol Seeber of Advance.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Marvin United Methodist Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 p.m. Monday at Vogler’s Reynolda Road.
Memorials may be directed to Marvin United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 11527, Winston-Salem, N.C. 27116-1152.

Banner Boggs
Thomasville
Banner Clarence Boggs, 85, of 238 Boggs Rd. died Feb. 2, 2001, at Community General Hospital.
He was born Jan. 12, 1916, in Davidson County, the son of W. Adams Boggs and Essie B. Landreth Boggs. In 1965, he retired from Reagan Mills in Thomasville.
On May 4, 1934, he married Ethel Clodfelter, who preceded him in death on Nov. 21, 1989.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Shirley Ann Elliott and husband, Reece, of Thomasville; one son, Gary Boggs of Leesburg, Va.; one sister, Mrs. Lenora Creasey of Thomasville; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Johnsontown United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8 p.m. Monday at Family Funeral Care in Thomasville. The body will remain at the funeral home.

Parks Buie
Asheboro
Carter Parks Buie, 76, died Feb. 2, 2001.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home and other times at the home.

Jo Lynn Carter
Liberty
Jo Lynn Carter, 42, of 405 Kirkman St. died Feb. 2, 2001, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.
A native of Randolph County, she was a member of St. Stephen AME Church where she had been a choir member. She was a graduate of Eastern Randolph High School and Asheboro Business College. She was employed with Randolph Telephone Membership Corp. as an accountant for 11 years.
She was the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Gales and the late Mr. and Mrs. June Carter.
Surviving are her mother, Mattie Gales Carter of the home; her father, William Paul Carter of Liberty; one brother, Ritchie Carter and wife, Tahesia, of Liberty; one nephew, Brandon Carter; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral will be 3 p.m. today at St. Stephen AME Church. Burial will be in St. Stephen Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be prior to the service today at the church.
Memorials may be directed to the Multiple Sclerosis Society National, 2211 W. Meadowview Rd., Greensboro, N.C. 27407.

Shelbia Jean Taylor Holston, 55, died Feb. 2, 2001.
Funeral will be 3 p.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church by Rev. Craven Ford. Burial will be in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church Parlor.

Anna Lankford
Thomasville
Mrs. Anna Louise Lankford, 76, a resident of 305 Pinewood Rd. died Feb. 2, 2001, at her residence.
She was born Sept. 5, 1924, in Pomeroy, Ohio, a daughter of the late Charles Harold Bryan and Nellie Lee Peters Bryan. She was a homemaker and a member of The Original Church of God on Kepley Road.
Surviving are two daughters, Ms. Carolyn Smith of Ohio and Mrs. James Edward (Janet Yvonne) Barnes of Thomasville; two step-sons, Curtis Ray Lankford of Asheboro and David Wayne Lankford of Washington; two grandchildren, David Allen Hess and wife, Rhonda, of Lexington and Mrs. Carla Joann Proctor and husband, Donnie, of High Point; and two great-grandchildren, William Allen Hess and Jodi Nicole Guinn.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at The Original Church of God by Pastor Pat Eller. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the church.
Memorials may be directed to Mrs. Janet Barnes, 382 Valley Dr., Lexington, N.C. 27292.
J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Cynthia D. Lloyd, 62, of 409 Meredith St. died Feb. 3, 2001, at High Point Regional Hospital.

Owana Saltz
Thomasville
Mrs. Owana Haney Saltz, 80, a former resident of Guyer Street died Feb. 1, 2001, at Liberty Wood Nursing Center.
She was born in High Point on June 19, 1920, the daughter of Oscar and Mary Welborn Haney. She was a homemaker and a former member of Green Street Baptist Church. In 1937, she married Howard William Saltz, who preceded her in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Loretta Schwalm and husband, Bob, of Dayton, Ohio, and Janet Saltz of Thomasville; two sisters, Eloise Schultheiss and husband, Pete, of High Point, and Imogene Morgan of Jamestown; two grandchildren, Robin Beck and husband, James, of Elkhart, Ind., and Scott Schwalm and wife, Debbie, of Dayton, Ohio; and two great-grandchildren, Brian Schwalm of Dayton, Ohio and Kaylin Beck of Elkhart, Ind.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Floral Garden Park Cemetery by Pastor John Petry. Visitation will be 7-8:30 p.m. today at Harold C. Davis Funeral Home.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Summerville Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. Lowell Askins. There will be no visitation.
