Charles Huneycutt
High Point - Chuck” Huneycutt, 63, of 506 N. Rotary Drive, died Nov. 11, 1999, at his residence.
He was born May 6, 1936, in Washington, D.C., a son to Brodie and Ruth Turner Huneycutt. He was a 1954 graduate of High Point Central High School and had been a resident of High Point most of his life. He was a member of Green Street Baptist Church and was a 32 degree Mason with Numa F. Reid Lodge No. 344 A.F. and A.M. He had also served in the United States Navy for 10 years, and owned and operated Huneycutt Interiors for 35 years. On July 15, 1955, he was married to the former Cecila Shoaf, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Cathy Wall of Trinity; a son, Steve Huneycutt and his wife, Kim Gant Huneycutt, of High Point; a granddaughter, Mrs. Brad (Sandi) Linville of Thomasville; and a grandson, Robert James Wall III of Trinity.
Funeral with Masonic Rites will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point with the Rev. Jim Summey officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 tonight at the funeral home.
Mary Ryerson
Asheboro - Mary Elizabeth Hamilton Ryerson, 70, died Nov. 10, 1999.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are by Ridge Funeral Home.
Frances Smith
Thomasville - Ms. Frances Buchanan Smith of 205 Creek Moore Circle, formerly of Laurens, S.C., died Nov. 10, 1999.
She was born in Clinton, a daughter of Luther Fred and Elizabeth Word Buchanan. She was former manager of Barnes Gift Shop in Laurens, S.C., and a member of First Prebyterian Church of Laurens. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Grady Smith.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Clyde Gardner; one son, Jack Hardin of Tryon, N.C.; one step-daughter and her husband, Barbara and Ed Orr of Cayce; one sister, Mary Alice Barnes of Laurens, S.C.; two grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to First Prebyterian Church of Laurens, Building Fund, 400 W. Main Street, Laurens, S.C. 29360.
The family will be at the home of Mary Alice Barnes, 105 Ball Drive, Laurens S.C.

Lexington - Jesse Ashburn Williams, 86, died Nov. 10, 1999.

Harvey Younts
Lexington - Harvey Gray Younts, 57, of Reedy Creek Road, died Nov. 11, 1999, at his home.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Union Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. Harold Fletcher. Visitation will be 6:30-8:30 tonight at Davidson Funeral Home.
Thelma Albritton
High Point - Mrs. Thelma Albritton, 72, a former resident of Morehead Court Apartments, died Nov. 15, 1999, at High Point Regional Hospital.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announce by Haizlip Funeral Home.
Thomas Black
Thomasville - Thomas J. Black, 84, a resident of Maplewood Avenue, died Nov. 15, 1999, in the Community General Hospital.
He was born Aug. 17, 1915, in Davidson County, a son of Harvey McKinley Black Sr. and Carrie Belle Embler Black. He was a retired founder of Black Lumber Company of Thomasville. Following retirement, he was co-owner of The Yogurt Shoppe of High Point. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World of Thomasville. He was a member of Fair Grove United Methodist Church, a former member of the church choir, and served as chairman of the Cemetery committee for a number of years. On Nov. 27, 1938, he was married to Lucille Kelly, who died Jan. 28, 1989.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Henry (Lillie) Hodgin of High Point and Mrs. Hobart (Floy) Mendenhall of Asheville; nieces and nephews, including, Barbara B. Waters and husband, Charles, and Kathy B. Ashley; great nieces and nephews, including Christopher C. Waters, Brooke Ashley and Mary-Beth Ashley.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. David L. White officiating. The body will remain at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home until the service hour. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight and other times at the respective homes.

Blanche Brown
High Point - Mrs. Blanche Fowler Brown, 86, of Elm Towers, died Nov. 15, 1999, at High Point Regional Hospital, after a brief illness.
She was born April 13, 1913, in High Point, a daughter of David Abner and China Elizabeth White Fowler. A resident of High Point all her life, she retired from H&H Knitting Mills. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husbands, W. Marvin Segers and Joseph F. Brown.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Mitzie Skrovanek and husband, Richard, of Lakeland, Fla.; one son, Terry Barney and wife, Lewtisha, of 318 Greer St.; two sisters, Mrs. Edith Joy Pogue of High Point and Mrs. Dorothy Alma Mickey of Jacksonville, Fla.; one brother, Inglis Minell “Bill” Fowler of Sanford; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sechrest Chapel on E. Lexington Avenue by the Rev. Otis Collins and the Rev. Earl Hanks. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home one hour before the funeral and the family will be at the funeral home of the son, 318 Greer St.
Annie Burley
Archdale - Mrs. Annie Jane Knox Burley, 81, former resident of 3501-C Glendale Drive, died Nov. 15, 1999, at the GrayBrier Nursing & Retirement Center.
She was born Dec. 17, 1917, in London, W. Va., a daughter to Robert and Inez Knox. She had been a resident of Archdale for the past 15 years and had previously lived in West Virginia and Florida. She had taught school for more than 30 years and was also a musician and a poet. She was married to Lenlie Burley who preceded her in death on Dec. 25, 1983. She was also preceded in death by a son, Wayne Douglas Burley.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Roberta Halsey of Columbia, S.C.; a granddaugther, Susannah Burley of Trinity; and a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Cheryl S. Burley of Trinity.
Memorial service will be conducted 3 p.m. Wednesday at Archdale United Methodist Church with Dr. Mary John Dye and the Rev. Harold Shives officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. Interment will be at a later date at the Fruitland Cemetery in Hendersonville, N.C.

Thomasville - Mrs. Ella Mae Gray Green, 83, of 825 Bowerwood Drive died Nov. 13, 1999, in High Point Regional Hospital.
Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Thomasville. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service and other times at the home.
Beatrice Hardman
Linwood - Ms. Beatrice McCraney Hardman, 74, of Linwood, died Nov. 14, 1999.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Reeds Baptist Church. Vistitation will be 7-9 tonight at Davidson Funeral Home.
Mary Herschel
High Point - Ms. Mary Ann Herschel, 70, died Nov. 14, 1999, at Evergreens of High Point.
She was born in Hamilton County, Ohio, the daughter of Joseph and Martha Kluener Mollann. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Martha Seldin of Sacramento, Calif. She was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church of High Point.
She is survived by her husband, Michael J. Herschel and son, Michael J. Herschel III of the home; daughters, Mary Francis Puettman of Knoxville, Tenn., Monica Smith of Norris, Tenn., and Maureen Lovell of Knoxville, Tenn.; brothers, Louis, Norber, Charles and Paul Mollann, all of Cincinnati; nine grandchildren. Mrs. Herschel and her husband, resided in the East Brainerd community of Chattanooga, Tenn., for 35 years and leaves many friends there.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 9 until 10 p.m. Friday at the Hanes-Linebery Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 High Point Road, Greensboro.
John Hutchens
Jamestown - John David Hutchens, 87, of Jamestown Road died Nov. 15, 1999, at his residence.
He was born July 16, 1912, in Surry County to Joshua and Nancy Rachel Hutchens. He had been a High Point resident for the past 39 years and was retired from Jamestown Mills. He was a member of Friendly Baptist Church. On Dec. 9, 1939, he was married to the former Arlene Pell who survives of the home.
Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Jean Hutchens Johnson and her husband, Ted, of Denton, Mrs. Judy Hutchens Johnson of Trinity and Ms. Diane Hutchens of the home; four grandchildren, Brian Johnson, Michael Johnson, Kelly Johnson Fuller and Jonathan Johnson; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Pope of Aberdeen and Mrs. Lucy Wade of Burlington.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Friendly Baptist Church by the Rev. Fred W. Reece. Interment will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point.

Whiteville - Mrs. Mamie Lou Bryant Long, 74, a resident of 242 Tanglewood Acres Drive died Nov. 14, 1999, at her residence.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at J.C. Green & Sons Chapel with the Rev. Carl Sutton officiating. Burial will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.
