Earl Edwards, 64, formerly of Old Thomasville Road, died Feb. 26, 2001, at Dorthea Dix Hospital in Raleigh.
He was born Nov. 27, 1936, in Surry County, a son of James and Emmie Scott Edwards. He was formerly employed with Adams Wood Turning as a sander.
Surviving are three sons, James and Robert Edwards, both of Lexington, and David Edwards and his wife, Teresa, of Archdale; two daughters, Krista Edwards of Lexington and Holly Edwards Foster of Archdale; two sisters, Sue Mashburn and her husband, Roger, and Barbara Phillips and her husband, Kenny, all of Trinity, three stepgrandchildren, Kristina, Kimberly and Timothy Foster, all of Archdale; and two great nephews, Jameson Hicks of Wallburg and Dillon Phillips of Trinity.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. today at Harold C. Davis Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Roy Johnson. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery.
Bryan Goodson

Bryan Joseph Goodson, 17, of 3502 Westfield St. died Feb. 26, 2001, at his residence.
He was born March 11, 1983, in Moore County, a son of Michael Lee and Josephine Higgins Goodson. He loved his family, enjoyed music and playing the drums. He was the happiest when he was with his friends.
Surviving are his parents of High Point; a sister, Leah Goodson of Raleigh; two brothers, James Goodson of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Andy Goodson of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and his best friend, Jamie Quick of High Point.
A celebration of life service will be 7 tonight at Harold C. Davis Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Brian Powell.

Mrs. Irene Sanders Harris, 92, of 147 Pineview Road died Feb. 28, 2001, at Wallace Thomson Hospital after a long illness.

Wade Holbrook, 65, of Jackson Avenue died at 2:45 a.m. Feb. 28, 2001, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Woodruff Primitive Baptist Church, Sparta. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
Henry Holm

Henry Alvin Holm, 98, of 2511-F Suffolk Ave., died Feb. 26, 2001, at Maryfield Nursing Home.
She was born Dec. 22, 1902, in Bemidji, Minn., a son of Nickalie Hanson Holm and Lena Aukrust Holm. He graduated from the University of North Dakota in 1928. He was a salesman for Simmons Hardware and Shapleigh Hardware in St. Louis, Mo., from 1946 until 1960. He was owner and operator of High Crest Hardware Store in Rockford, Ill., from 1955 until 1970. He then moved to Dallas, Texas, and then to High Point in 1977. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in World War II in the Quartermaster General’s Captain Office with the 76th Infantry Division. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Masonic Blue Lodge. He was a Shriner member of Tebala Shrine in Rockford, Ill. He was a former member of the High Point Host Lions Club and a member of Christ United Methodist Church. On Oct. 3, 1942, he married Lura Schmidt, who survives of the residence.
Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Christ United Methodist Church by the Rev. Glenn Myers, the Rev. Lloyd Hunsucker and the Rev. Hubert Brown. Visitation will be 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday at Sechrest Funeral Home, E. Lexington Avenue.

David “Dave” Leonard, 81, of Rhodes Road died at 6:20 p.m. Feb. 27, 2001, at his residence.
Surviving are his wife, Cornelia “Connie” Canoy Leonard of the residence; two sons, Dwayne Leonard and his wife, Aleta, and Dwight Leonard and his wife, Karen, all of Lexington; three daughters, Davida “Dee” Beck and her husband, Paul, Davonna Hendley and her husband, John, and Darlynn Guest and her husband, David, all of Lexington; eight grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 4 p.m. Friday at Beck’s United Church of Christ, where he was a member, by the Rev. Edward Rawls, the Rev. Eric Disher and the Rev. Billy Joe Leonard. Burial will be with military rites by VFW Post 3074 in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 tonight at Davidson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Berlyne Matilda Anderson McCann, 62, of Hillwood Drive died Feb. 28, 2001, at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Hospital.
She was born Dec. 24, 1938, in Horry County, S.C., a daughter of Roy and Flossie Buffkin Anderson. She was formerly employed as a clerk with Hubbells Electronics.
Surviving are her husband, Richard McCann of the residence; two daughters, Matilda Hopkins and her husband, Tony, of Kernersville, and Hilda Rudisill and her husband, Doug, of Winston-Salem; three sisters, Georgia Stroud and her husband, Elbert, of Rock Hill, S.C., Christine Strickland of Thomasville and Wilmoth Baynes and her husband, Jimmie, of Greensboro; a brother, Arvil Anderson and his wife, Lulabelle, of Archdale; four grandchildren, Tyler and Morgan Hopkins, both of Kernersville, Michele Miller of Sanford and Cindy Lamm of Jonesville; and several nieces and nephews.

Lucille Batten Skeen, 86, died Feb. 26, 2001, at Integrated Health Service in Auburndale, Fla.
She was a Montgomery County native. She was married to Burton C. “Bill” Skeen, who preceded her in death. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church in Haines City. She was a member of Professional Business Women’s Association and managed Jane Anne’s Dress Shoppe in Haines City for several years.
Surviving are two sons, Jimmy Ray Skeen of Alturas, Fla., and David Arlan Skeen of Seagrove, N.C.; two brothers, Frank Batten of Biscoe and Verdon Batten of Candor, N.C.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday at Laurel Hill Baptist Church, 1569 Troy-Candor Road, Candor, by the Rev. Robert Hittepole and the Rev. Don Davis. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Daniel Ralph Craver, 67, of Liberty Wood Nursing Home died at 3:15 a.m. Feb. 27, 2001, at the home after declining health of two years.
He was born June 3, 1933, in Davidson County, a son of Arthur Ralph Craver and Maretta Leonard Craver of the Reeds Community. He was a lifelong resident of Davidson County. He was a member of Reeds Baptist Church. He was a sergeant during the Korean War, serving with the 8th Engineer Battalion of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of the Reeds Post 162 and the American Legion Post. On Dec. 2, 1952, he was married to the former Marlene Murphy, who survives. He was preceded in death by his brother, James A. Craver.
Surviving are his daughter, Charlton Spainhour, and her husband, Ricky, of Thomasville; four grandchildren, Casey, Jason, Daniel and Jessie-Lyn, all of Lexington; a brother, Joe Craver of Churchland; and a sister, Betty Temple of Charleston, S.C.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Reeds Baptist Church, Lexington, by the Rev. Dan Hutchins. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 tonight at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington, and other times at the residence of his daughter, 759 E. Holly Grove Road.
