Khalilah Nyi’Rea Rogers, infant daughter of Samuel Rogers and Necketta Fellows of 517-F E. Commerce Ave. died March 19, 2001, at the residence.
She was born March 31, 2000, in High Point. She was known to everyone as “Gerber Baby or Lilah.” She touched everyone with her happiness.
Surviving are her parents of the residence; her three grandmothers, Daisy Fellows, Louise Eddy and Emma Mae Rogers; her two grandfathers, Alphonza Fellows and Sam B. Eddy, all of High Point; her three Godmothers, Sharon Davis of Durham, Pat Turner of Thomasville and Tramiece McRae of High Point; an aunt, Teresa Rogers; three uncles, Wesley Fellows of Smithfield, Tony Rogers of High Point and Howard Rogers of California; and a host of great-aunts and uncles, cousins and special friends.
Special acknowledgement to her grandmother Daisy, who helped see to it that Khaliah never wanted for anything.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Upper Room Baptist Church, High Point, by Brother Michael Dublin of Raleigh. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be noon to 1 p.m. Friday at the church.

Mrs. Kathy Ann Stanley, 44, of 5971 Robbins Country Road died March 20, 2001, at High Point Regional Hospital.
She was born April 22, 1956, in Guilford County, a daughter of Willie Woodrow and Georgia Hester Stanley. She retired from High Point Furniture Industries after 25 years of service. She was a member of Allendale Baptist Church.
Surviving are her son, Timothy Brian Hardee and his wife, Mary, of Trinity; her fiancé, David Medlin of Thomasville; her parents of Trinity; maternal grandfather, Rufus Owens of Sophia; four sisters, Mrs. Geraldine Lawson and her husband, Ernest, of Sophia, Shirley Cunningham and her husband, Billy, of Archdale, Wilma Jean Moore and her husband, Carl, of Sophia, and Betty Parham and her husband, Bill, of Trinity; a brother, Charles Cleveland Stanley and his wife, Loretta, of Archdale; and a grandson, Timothy Jacob Hardee.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Allendale Baptist Church by the Rev. Bobby Metters and the Rev. David Younger. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at Sechrest Funeral Service, Archdale, and other times at 4924 Denise Drive, Trinity.

O.Z. Tucker of 1413 Futrell Drive died March 20, 2001, at Wesleyan Arms Inc. in High Point.
He was born Oct. 7, 1916, in Edison, Ga., a son of the Rev. Alexander Tucker and Mrs. Aslee Chapman. He was a retiree of the Continental Furniture Co. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mrs. Mattie Tucker, and two sons, Y.Z. Tucker and Richard Tucker.
He leaves to cherish his memory, two sons, Marvin (Lillie) Tucker and Donald Tucker of High Point; a daughter, Mrs. Louise (Lester) Holland; 17 grandchildren, Rosa Pate, Pearlie Alston, Larry Pate, Maurice Pate, Remona Leach, Jerry Pate, Donald Ray Pate, Angie Ratliff, Montrelle Tucker, Y.Z. Tucker Jr., Tracy Howell, James Howell, Shania Howell, Godfrey Tucker, Marquita Tucker, Tony Holland and Rodney Holland; 26 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at New Beginning Full Gospel Ministry, 215 Fourth St., by the Rev. Cornelius Holland. The body will be placed in the church noon today. Visitation will be 1:30-2 p.m. Friday at the church and other times at the residence.

Mrs. Rosemary Cox Whitaker, 60, of 4902 Roseway Road died March 20, 2001, at Randolph County Hospital in Asheboro.
She was born April 28, 1940, in Roscoe, Texas, a daughter of Thomas Henry and Eva Mae Cantrell Cox, who both preceded her in death. On Aug. 27, 1993, she married Herman Ray Whitaker, who survivies of the residence.
Also surviving are two sons, Freddie Morrison Jr. of the residence and Russell Morrison of Thomasville.
There will be no funeral service.

Dewey C. Bryant, 83, of 414 Manor Drive died March 22, 2001, at High Point Regional Hospital.
He was born Oct. 21, 1917, in Price Hill, W. Va., a son of Jeremiah C. Bryant and Edna Mae Alshire Bryant. He retired from United Mine Workers after 30 years of service and from Alma Desk Co. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II. He was of the Baptist faith. On July 1, 1936, he married Tina Gentry, who preceded him in death in 1986. He also was preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara June Bryant.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Billy Mae Davis and her husband, Lindale, of Mt. Airy, Mrs. Jerry Dean Causey and her husband, Shelton, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Mrs. Jackie Norman and her husband, Danny, of High Point; four sons, James D. Bryant and his wife, Brenda, of High Point, John Bryant of High Point and Gary Bryant and his wife, Peggy, of Tampa, Fla., and Richard Bryant of Highlands, Ky.; a brother, Robert D. Bryant and his wife, Dorothy, of Greensboro; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Sechrest Chapel, E. Lexington Avenue, by the Rev. Gene Phillips. Burial will be in Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at Sechrest Funeral Home.

Miss Sherrie A. Cochrane of 1301 W. Green Drive died March 19, 2001, at High Point Regional Hospital.
She was a native of High Point and employed with Harriss Covington Hosiery Mill.
Surviving are her mother, Josephine Cochrane of the residence; her father, James E. Cochrane Sr. of Camden, N.J.; her grandmother, Mrs. Lessie P. Smith of High Point; two daughters, Patrice Cochrane and Misty Cochrane, both of High Point; three grandchildren, Talesha Green, Iesha Gibril and Taylor Cochrane, all of High Point; three brothers, James Cochrane, Gregory (Beverly) Cochrane and Kenneth (Tavalynn) Cochrane, all of High Point; three sisters, Janet Cochrane of Thomasville, Evangelist Willa (Robert) Jones of Lavonia, Ga., and Henrietta (Alton) Lewis of High Point; a god-sister, Mamie Alexander of Greenville, S.C.; 12 nieces and nephews; five great nieces and nephews, all of High Point; a special niece raised as her daughter, Tomeka Davis; two special friends, Miss Mary P. Harris of High Point and Miss Geraldine White of Thomasville.

Alson F. Crater, 72, died March 21, 2001, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 8, 1928, in Guilford County, a son of Alson Franklin Crater Sr. and Mattie Fogleman Crater. He was married to Luzenia Kindley, who preceded him in death. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of Trinity Holiness Church. He was a self-employed machinist. He was preceded in death by a son, James Franklin Crater and a grandchild.
Surviving are four daughters, Linda C. Carswell of Gastonia, Joyce C. Fox of Trinity, Judy C. Queen of Trinity and Libby C. Byerly of Lexington; three sons, Donald Crater of High Point, Tommy Crater of Archdale and David Crater of Archdale; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Younts of Trinity and Mrs. Nancy Younts of Thomasville; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Sechrest Funeral Service, 120 Trindale Road, Archdale, by the Rev. Thurman Smith. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home.
