Claudie Cox
Thomasville - Mr. Claudie Dale Cox, 51, a resident of 610 Ball Rd., died Dec. 4, 1999 at Wake Forest University Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
He was born March 10, 1948 in Morgan County Tenn. The son of Lige Cox and Mattie Lemmons Cox. He was employed with Carrick Turning Works in High Point as long as his health permitted. He was of the Baptist faith. On Feb. 9, 1984, he was married to Jacqueline “Jackie” Gordon who survives of the home. Also surviving are three daughters; Mrs. Sandra Bryant and husband Gary, Mrs. Sharon Tucker and husband Kenneth Sr., both of Thomasville and Mrs. Phyllis Childs and husband Mickey or Marrietta, Ga.; three sisters, Mrs. Louise Hedrick, Mrs. Della Pugh, and Mrs Carolyn Daniels all of Rockwood, Tenn.; four brothers, Franklin Cox and Bobby Cox, both of Thomasville, Lee Cox of Oakdale, Tenn. and Doyle Cox of Crab Orchard, Tenn.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in J.C. Green & Sons Chapel with the Revs. Clayton Hulin, Stuart White and Erick Grubb officiating. Burial will follow in the Original Church of God church cemetery on Kepley Rd. in Lexington. The family will be at the funeral home today from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. and other times at the home of the daughter Mrs. Sharon Tucker, 307 Clark St. Thomasville.

High Point - Mrs. Lillian Thomas Hill, 95, a resident of Wesleyan Manor died there Dec. 5, 1999. Funeral arrangements are pending at Cumby Funeral Service in Archdale.
Georgia Seay
Thomasville - Georgia Mae Ashley Seay, 71, of 3704 Carole Drive, died Dec. 4, 1999 in High Point Regional Hospital.
She was born Jan. 23, 1928 in Green County Tenn. A daughter of the late George Ashley and Lida Britt Ashley, she was retired from High Point Furniture Ind. and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She was preceded in death six brothers; Tom Ashley, Claude “Doc” Ashley, Paul Ashley, Jack Ashley, John Ashley and Albert Ashley.
Surviving are, three daughters; Mrs. Donnie (Lida) Lunsford of Sophia, Mrs. Bobby (Patricia) Holder and Ms. Brenda Lee both of Thomasville; three brothers, L.G. Ashley of California, Fred Ashley of Greenville, Tenn. and Norman Ashley of Rockford Ill.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Friendship Baptist Church with Brothers Bo. Coleman and Ray Edwards officiating.
The interment will be in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The body will be placed in the church thirty minutes prior to the service. The family will be at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home today from 7 to 9 p.m. and other times at the home.
Franklin Strickland
Thomasville - Franklin Strickland, 66, a loving husband, father, grandfather and special friend to many, went to be with the Lord Dec. 4, 1999 at 10:25 a.m.
He was a resident of 9 Sedge Lane and was born March 8, 1933 in Horry County, S.C. A son of the late Wallie Strickland and Leona Dudley Strickland. Mr. Strickland was a resident of the Thomasville area most of his life and was a superintendent at Plant D Thomasville Furniture Ind. before retiring in 1995. He was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church, member of the Board of Trustees, a deacon, a member of the Avery Overcash Sunday School Class and the church choir. He was married in 1952 to Miss Christine Anderson who survives of the home. Also surviving are three daughters; Mrs. Juleen Stowe and husband Junior, Mrs. Sharon Bailey and husband Terry both of Thomasville and Mrs. Teresa Wallace and husband David of Lexington; two sons, Jeff Strickland and wife Teresa of High Point and Larry Strickland and wife Debbie of Thomasville; a sister, Mrs. Martha Britt of Fairmont; two brothers, James Strickland of Jacksonville Fla, and Billy Joe Strickland of Trinity; 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Oak Hill Memorial Baptist Church with the Revs. Gary Myers, Odell Coggins and Chuck Garner officiating. Jeanette Brown
Thomasville - Mrs. Jeanette Nicks Brown, 69, died Dec. 6, 1999, at Beacon Place in Greensboro.
She was a retired Realtor.
Surviving are two sons, Woody Brown and his wife, Mary, and Rick Brown, all of Thomasville; and two grandchildren, Zack and Kaity Brown of Thomasville.
No services will be held.

William Harrelson
High Point - William Samuel Harrelson, 94, of Sunrise Care and Rehabilitation for The Triad Nursing Home, died Dec. 6, 1999, at High Point Regional Hospital following an extended illness.
He was born in Randolph County Aug. 27, 1905, a son of Levi Sherman and Mary Harrelson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lavora Stroud Harrelson. He was a member of Allen Jay Baptist Church. He retired from Triangle Hosiery Mill.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at the Harold C. Davis Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Jack Stratas. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation is 1-2 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Lillian Hill
High Point - Mrs. Lillian Thomas Hill, 95, of Wesleyan Manor, died Dec. 5, 1999.
She was born Aug. 21, 1904, in Guilford County, a daughter of T.H. and Flora Proctor. She was a life-long resident of High Point. She retired from Harriss-Covington Hosiery Co. She was a member of First Wesleyan Church for more than 50 years and a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class, the Edna Neff Missionary Circle and the Aggressive Club. She was married Sept. 11, 1919, to Thomas Moore Hill, who died June 7, 1970.
Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Lena Mendenhall of High Point; a half-sister, Mrs. Doris Morris of Troy; several nieces and nephews; a special niece, Mrs. Sue Hill of High Point. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Mrs. Rose Haynes and Mrs. Lola Springer.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale by the Rev. Carroll M. Upton and the Rev. James Smith. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the residence of her niece, Mary Lou Crouse, 6430 Old Mendenhall Road.

Bernard McBride
High Point - Bernard LaShay McBride, 39, formerly of Sheraton Towers, died Dec. 3, 1999, at Beacon Place, Greensboro.
He was born in High Point, a son of Jahue and Joretha Flowers McBride. He attended the public schools of High Point, GTCC, and Shaw University. He was a former employee at Furniture Liquidators of Thomasville and High Point and KJ’s Furniture & Decorative Services. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandmother, Mrs. Bleacher Flowers.
Surviving are two brothers, Michael (Darlene) McBride of Thomasville and Brian Hope of High Point; four sisters, Mrs. Sandra Luck, Mrs. Ann (Willie) Hayes, Mrs. Beverly (Michael) Hayes and Kim Hope, all of High Point; two uncles, Brazier (Irene) Ingram and Archie McBride of High Point; and aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, among them, Henry Jumper, Mary Heilman and Kim Hoke, who were very special to him.
Memorial service will be 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Haizlip Funeral Chapel by Bishop Danny Saunders. Visitation will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and other times at the residence of Mrs. Sandra Luck, 1505 Carolina St.
Fannie Nelson
Thomasville - Mrs. Fannie “Ann” Cain Nelson, 82, of 1006-K Liberty Arms died Dec. 6, 1999, at High Point Regional Hospital.
She was born May 16, 1917, in Forsyth County, a daughter of Avery and Ila Cobbler Martin. She was a resident of Thomasville for the past 18 years, prior to moving to Archdale. She retired from Acme Sample Co. and was a member of Hillside Park Baptist Church. She was married to Glenn W. Nelson, who preceded her in death in 1985.
Surviving are four sons, Ervin Cain of Kernersville, Jerry Cain of Ringgold, Ga., James Cain of Thomasville and Glenn Nelson Jr. of Greenville, S.C.; three daughters, Mrs. Faye Chadwell of Thomasville, Mrs. Mary Vestal of High Point and Mrs. Rebecca McKinney of Simpsonville, S.C.; three brother, Gaither Martin and Thurman Martin, both of Walkertown, and Floyd Martin of Winston-Salem; four sisters, Mrs. Ethel Reich of Winston-Salem, Mrs. Dorothey Johnson, Mrs. Blanche Hastings and Mrs. Ruth Vestal, all of Kernersville; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cumby Family Funeral Service chapel in Archdale. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral residence and other times at the home of a daughter, Faye Chadwell, 220 Center St.

John Saulters
High Point - John Adam Saulters, 82, of 525 Graves Ave. died Dec. 4, 1999, at his home.
He was born Oct. 19, 1917, a son of Robert and Edith Saulters. He was a resident of this area the greater part of his life. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was retired from Clarendon Furniture Inc. He was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are one sister-in-law, Hattie Saulters; one niece, Jo-Ann Collins; godchildren, Carrie Conrad, Don Taylor, Carmela Wood, Kenny Taylor, Wanda Ingram, Dwane Taylor and Bettye Taylor; four sisters and four brothers preceded him in death.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in National Cemetery in Salisbury. Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and other times at the home of Bettye Taylor, 934 Forrest St.
