Daisy Hatley
Thomasville - Mrs. Daisy Louise Rooks Hatley, 75, a resident of Beverly Health Care, died Jan. 30, 2000, at the nursing home.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at J.C. Green & Sons Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Evelyn Kindley
Thomasville - Mrs. Evelyn Louise Kindley, 78, a resident of Wesleyan Arms and formerly of Thomasville, died Jan. 29, 2000, in Wesleyan Arms.
She was born Aug. 15, 1921, in Davidson County, the daughter of Guy Welborn and Blanche Newsome Welborn. She was a resident of this area all her life. She was retired from Kayby Mills, was a member of First United Methodist Church and a member of the Grace Ragan Sunday School Class.
Surviving is her husband of 62 years, Welfred Leo Kindley; two daughters, Susan Kindley of Dallas, and Mrs. Barbara Dennis and her husband, Ronald, of Archdale; a son, David Kindley, and his wife, Maria, of Newport News, Va.; a sister, Mrs. Ernestine Morris of Denton; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in J.C. Green & Sons Chapel with the Rev. Jack G. Stratas officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 9 tonight and other times at the home.

Joe King
Salisbury - The Rev. Joe Hartsell King, 74, died Jan. 29, 2000, at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte after a period of declining health.
Funeral will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Lyerly Funeral Home’s James C. Lyerly Chapel. Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Leva Lambert
Archdale - Mrs. Leva Ross Lambert, 86, of Liberty Road, died Jan. 29, 2000, at her residence.
She was born Jan. 1, 1914, to John Alexander and Susie Lillie Chaney Ross. She had been an Archdale resident most of her life and had been employed at Lampart Table Inc. in High Point. She was a member of Trindale Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was married to Frank Lambert, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and six brothers.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Elaine Swaim and her husband, Ron, of Pleasant Garden; a son, Charles Lambert and his wife, Alice, of Sophia; two sisters, Mrs. Betsy Duggins and Mrs. Vernell Honeycutt, both of High Point; a brother, Douglas Ross of Erwin; three grandchildren, Chuck Lambert, April Hawkins and Tammy Gruer; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Trindale Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. Otis Collins and the Rev. John Coble. Entombment will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale.
Harold Leonard
Lexington - Harold Franklin Leonard, 84, of 2420 W. Center St. died Jan. 29, 2000, at his home.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Reeds United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 tonight at Davidson Funeral Home.
Kenneth Barker
Archdale - Kenneth Ray Barker, 40, a resident of 5752 Trotter Country Rd. died Feb. 4, 2000, at his residence.
Funeral arrangements are pending at the Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale.
Glenn Barnhart, Jr.
High Point - Glenn Edward Barnhart Jr., 63, of W. Green Drive, died Feb. 5, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.
He was born in High Point on April 2, 1935, the son of Glenn Edward Barnhart Sr. and Myrtle Kissimay Barnhart. He was formerly employed at Blakeline Furniture Co. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Barnhart.
Surviving are his mother of Lexington; three daughters, Donna Church, Lisa Barnhart and Karen Combs, all of High Point; one son, Michael Barnhart of High Point; one brother, Earl Barnhart of Thomasville; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Harold C. Davis Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Lester Smith. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Larry Burton
Kernersville - Mr. Larry Allen Burton, 74, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, died Feb. 6, 2000, at his residence in Kernersville.
He was born in High Point on Aug. 11, 1925, the son of Alberry and Sarah Louticia Shackleford McCarter Burton. He was formerly employed at ET & WNC Trucking Company for 35 years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving his country during WW II. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 5352 and the American Legion. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in High Point.
On Aug. 15, 1945, in York, S.C., he married Lois Margie Wheat, who survives of the home.
Surviving in addition to his wife are one daughter, Becky Rutherford and her husband, Patrick, of Thomasville; two sons, Terry Wayne Burton and his wife, Jean, of High Point and Melvin Arnold Burton and his wife, Kim, of Thomasville; four grandchildren, Larry Dean Burton and his wife, Teresa, of Kernersville, Michael Allen Burton (who is named after his grandfather) and his wife, Leah, of Thomasville, Tracey Chambers and her husband, Gary, of Thomasville and Larry Joe Russell (also named after his grandfather) serving in the U.S. Air Force in Alaska; one great-grandchild, Alexis Rena Burton; five step-grandchildren, Donna Holton Johnson, Tim Collins, Sue White, Robbie Joe Russell and Chris Mashburn; six step-great-grandchildren, Will and Taylor Johnson, Jeanna and Zack Collins and Misty and Brittany Collins.
Graveside memorial service with military honors conducted by the Randolph County Honor Guard will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery.

Samuel Clayton Jr.
High Point - Samuel Bunyan Clayton Jr., 83, of the Wesleyan Arms died Feb. 6, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.
He was born Jan. 3, 1917, in York, S.C., a son of S.B. and Maude Clayton. He was a member of the Conrad Memorial Baptist Church and was an insurance adjuster with Southern Adjusters and Appraisers.
He is survived by two sons, Steve Clayton of Snow Camp and Douglas Clayton of Duluth, Ga.
Funeral services will be private. Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point is serving the Clayton family.

Agnes Cline
High Point - Mrs. Agnes Griffin Cline, 99, of 206 Greensboro Rd., formerly of Fallston, died Feb. 5, 2000, at Evergreens Nursing Center.
She was born Oct. 12, 1900, in Columbus County, a daughter of Columbus C. and Henrietta Lawson Griffin, who preceded her in death. She was a member of Green Street Baptist Church. Until she retired, she was owner and operator of Cline’s Forest.
She also was preceded in death by her husband, William Robert Cline; one son, Robert “Bob” Cline Sr. and his wife, Claire.
Surviving are one granddaughter, Candace Guy and her husband, Larry, of High Point; one grandson, the Rev. J. Robert Cline and his wife, Angela, of Hartsville, S.C.; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. J. Robert Cline and the Rev. Russell Fitts. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Robert Foust
High Point - Robert William Frost, 76, of 1327 Ring St. died Feb. 5, 2000, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 15, 1923, in Rowan County, a son of Grady and Ida Cowan Foust and had lived in High Point most of his life. Until his retirement, he was owner and operator of West Point Catering. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army and was of the Lutheran faith.
On March 16, 1946, he married Carolyn Mickey, who died in 1989.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Randy (Carol) Yow of 1327 Ring St. and Miss Linda Darlene Foust of High Point; one son, William Lee Foust and wife, Lisa, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Norman of Lexington and Mrs. Pearl Denning of High Point; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sechrest Chapel on E. Lexington Avenue by Rev. Max Shoaf. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 p.m. today at Sechrest Funeral Home.

Minnie Frost
High Point - Mrs. Minnie Elizabeth Lowman Spaul Frost, 71, of 714 Montlieu Ave., died Feb. 5, 2000, in High Point Regional Hospital following declining health of several months.
She was born May 25, 1929, in Davidson County, a daughter of John and Hallie Medlin Lowman. She had been a resident of High Point and Thomasville most of her life and operated High Point Electrolysis Co. for 20 years. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was first married to Aaron Spaul, who preceded her in death. Her second marriage was to Geoffrey (Jack) Frost, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Roger (Camilla) McGuinn of 8738 Lost Cove Dr., Orlando, Fla.; one son, Wilbur Spaul of Europe; one step-daughter, Mrs. Suzanne Frost Murrow of 301 Nathan Hunt Dr.; one step-son, David Frost of 2101 E. Lexington Ave.; one sister, Mrs. James (Evelyn) Talley of 619 Lakeview Dr., Thomasville; five brothers, Robert Brantley Lowman of 7839 Grapevine Rd., Lewisville, Jessie Herman Loman of 1557 Smith Farm Rd., Lexington; Paul Lowman of 1056 Hasty School Rd., Thomasville, Willie Lee Lowman of 126 Ashbury Rd., Thomasville, and Ray (Pete) James Lowman of 714 Montlieu Ave.; and several nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by one brother, J.C. Lowman.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Charity Baptist Church, 6835 Charity Church Lane, Archdale, by Rev. Elton L. Wilborne. Visitation will be 7-9 tonight at the home of the brother, Paul Lowman, 1056 Hasty School Rd., Thomasville.
Rockford Hill
Greensboro - Rockford Vance Hill, 82, of 604 Rollins St., died Feb. 5, 2000, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro.
He was born April 30, 1917, in Guilford County, to Edgar Hardin and Maggie King Hill. He was a member of Sixteenth Street Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was retired from Rhodes Furniture.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Gracie Southern Hill, of the home.
Also surviving are one son, Michael V. Hill of High Point; one daughter, Sharon H. Shearer of Greensboro; two sisters, Argie (Sis) Morgan and Dorothy Bowling, both of Greensboro; and four grandchildren, Jason and Angie Shearer of Knoxville, Tenn. and Brian and Sarah Shearer of Greensboro.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Service Chapel by the Rev. Robert Thurman. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home.
