Eva Ross
Archdale - Eva Joyce Ross, 80, died at 5:50 a.m. March 5, 2000, at Westwood Health Center.
She was born April 20, 1919, in Surry County, a daughter of Fletcher and Flora Ann Gammons Joyce. She was a resident of the High Point area since 1945, was retired from the Guilford County Schools System and was of the Holiness faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, the Rev. Benton Ross, who died in 1995.
Surviving are one daughter, Hilda Ross Scott of Archdale; two grandchildren, LaDonna Scott Johnson of High Point and Rebecca Jane Scott of Archdale; one great-grandson, Joshua Wayne Johnson; one sister, Myrtle Beavers of Mt. Airy; three half-brothers; one half-sister; and one sister, Myrtle Beavers of Mt. Airy.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale by the Rev. Bobby Jacobs and Johnny Finley. Burial will follow in Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home and other times at 204 Aldridge Lane, Archdale.
Pallbearers will be Rick Noyes, Danny Scott, Ronnie Byerly, Johnny Johnson, Dale Jacobs and Daniel Wilson.
Anna Steppe
Chapel Hill - Anna Howell Steppe, 87, a native of Marion, died March 4, 2000, at Britthaven Nursing Home.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Marion. She was retired from Western Carolina Patient Care Center.
Surviving are one daughter, Martha Steppe and husband, Howard Tate, of Chapel Hill; one son, Jerry Steppe and wife, Gail, of High Point; and two grandchildren, Michael and wife, Janna, Tate of Charlotte and John Tate of Chapel Hill.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery in Marion.

Trinity - Ms. Gina Marie Giles, 38, of 5163 Summerville Drive died Feb. 29, 2000, at her residence.
She was born June 1, 1961, a daughter of Joseph W. and Carol Tew Giles. She was a lifelong resident of Trinity and was of the Baptist faith. She worked part time at Brandon’s Day Care.
Surviving are her parents of the residence; a sister, Carol Sue Kennedy and her husband, Mark, of Sophia; two brothers, Paul Giles and his wife, Toni, of Trinity and Eric Giles and his wife, Tracie, of Thomasville; and five nieces, Lauren Giles, Macy Giles, Rachel Giles, Emily Giles and Abby Giles.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Trinity Baptist Church by the Rev. Ken Evans and the Rev. J.C. Alley. Visitation will be 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale.

Dorothy McIntyre
Clemmons - Mrs. Dorothy Ann McIntyre, 55, of 4307 Lavale Court died Feb. 28, 2000, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
She was born Sept. 27, 1944, in Detroit, Mich., a daughter of Charles and Josephine Muller McIntyre. She was co-owner of Val-Pak.
Surviving are her husband, Rich Adams of the residence; three step-children, Cindy Wrentmore, Christopher Wrentmore and William Wrentmore; two brothers, Richard McIntyre and his wife, Jeanne, and Gilbert McIntyre; two nieces, Linda Karr and Diane Greyerbiehl.
Memorial service will be announced by Vogler and Sons Clemmons Chapel at a later date. The body has been taken to Ira Kaufman Funeral Home, Southfield, Mich., for burial.

Beulah Skeen
High Point - Miss Beulah Mary Skeen, 91, of Wesleyan Arms Nursing Center, formerly of Skeet Club Road, died Feb. 29, 2000, at the nursing home.
She was born March 17, 1908, in Randolph County, a daughter of Joshua and Laura Mae Farlow Skeen, who preceded her in death . She was a resident of High Point most of her life and a former employee of the Children’s Home Society in Greensboro. She was a member of Deep River Friends Meeting. She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard Skeen and Raymond Lee Skeen.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Deep River Friends Meeting Cemetery by the Rev. John H. Sides.

Thomasville - Cody Blake Thomas, infant son of Staley “Junior” Haywood and Amber Allen Thomas, died Feb. 27, 2000, at Duke University Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 10, 2000, in Duke University Children's Hospital.
Surviving are his parents of 622 Knollwood Drive; a sister, Kayla Brook Thomas of the residence; maternal grandparents, Lisa Childress of Thomasville and Henry “Buddy” Allen of High Point; maternal great-grandparents Helen and Stanley Willis of Thomasville and Barbara and Bob Lewis of High Point; maternal great-great-grandparents, Grace and Charles Bass of Thomasville; paternal grandparents, Katherine Trivette of Lexington and Woody Thomas of Martinsville, Va.; paternal great-grandmother, Dicie Doty of Trinity; and a special uncle, Buddy Allen.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at J.C. Green & Sons Chapel by the Rev. J. Byron Barker. Burial will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-9 tonight at the funeral home and other times at the residence of his parents.

Robert Baldwin
Thomasville - Robert Raymond Baldwin, 56, a resident of Goforth Drive, died March 11, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital following an illness.
He was born in Lynchburg, Va., on Feb. 16, 1944, the son of Ernest and Mamie Burns Baldwin. He was formerly employed at Thomasville Furniture Industries, and was an avid fisherman. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Orba Jean Baldwin, and his second wife, Patricia Baldwin.
Surviving are his mother of Reidsville; three daughters, Sandra Styles of Winston-Salem, Linda Stone of Reidsville, Brenda Wilson of Eden; a son, Robert Baldwin of Roxboro; two stepdaughters, Kelly Porterfield and Tammy Woods, both of Thomasville; four brothers, James Baldwin of High Point, Melvin Burns of Thomasville, Carroll Baldwin of Pelham, Ernest Baldwin of Yanceyville; two sisters, Patricia Bray of Reidsville, Elizabeth Lucas of Pelham; six grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Harold C. Davis Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-9 tonight at the funeral home and other times at the residence, 107 Goforth Drive, Thomasville.
