Princess Hazelwood
Archdale - Mrs. Princess Puckett Hazelwood, 47, of 5752 Trotter Country Road, died March 11, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.
She was born Dec. 16, 1952, in Surry County to Reese and Bertha Hicks Puckett. She had been an Archdale resident for the past 12 years. She had been employed by Caraway Furniture Inc. and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Sheltontown, Surry County. In 1976, she was married to John R. Hazelwood, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are a son, Jon Franklin Hazelwood of the home; and other brothers and sisters.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale. Burial will be in the Latter Day Saints Cemetery in Colfax. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1 p.m. Tuesday until the time of the service.
Rev. Aubrey Hedrick
Lexington - The Rev. Aubrey W. Hedrick, 87, of 2128 Conrad Hill Mine Road, died March 11, 2000, at Thomasville Community General Hospital, following a brief illness.
He was born March 18, 1912, in Davidson County, to George Lee and Alice Hedrick. He was a graduate of Reeds High School in Davidson County, Catawba College in Salisbury and Lancaster Theological Seminary in Lancaster, Pa. While at Catawba College, he was on the varsity tennis and soccer teams, and was a varsity debater. Both in college and seminary, he met the costs of his tuition, room and board through jobs that ranged from dining hall service to night watchman duty to gardening for professors’ residences.
He was ordained as a minister in the United Church of Christ (then the Evangelical and Reformed denomination) in 1938 at Mt. Hope United Church of Christ, Whitsett, where he served his first pastorate which included St. Mark’s UCC, Brick UCC, and Mt. Hope UCC. While at there, he organized a new church, Brightwood UCC, in Gibsonville.
Other churches he served were also part of the Southern Conference of the United Church of Christ and included: Bethel, St. James and Boger in Cabarrus County; Calvary and Zion in Thomasville; First Church in Winston-Salem; and Emanuel in Thomasville and was pastor emeritus of that church.
He served as president of the Southern Synod of the Evangelical and Reformed Church (now United Church of Christ), a member of the National Stewardship Council, and superintendent at Nazareth Children’s Home in Rockwell. He served as chairman of the Board of Trustees of Johns River Valley Camp in Lenoir for 17 years. He was instrumental in the founding of Piedmont Retirement Center in Thomasville and served on its board of directors.
Following his retirement in 1977, he moved to his boyhood farm in Lexington, where he expanded his activities as gardener and beekeeper, and established a fruit orchard and beef cattle operation. He served as interim pastor at Boger UCC in Cabarrus County, St. John’s UCC in Kannapolis and Keller UCC in Cabarrus County until his final retirement in 1998, representing over 60 years of continuous service in the ministry.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Hunsucker Hedrick.
Survivors are his wife, Donnie Curry Hedrick of the home; two daughters, Alice Hedrick Foltz and her husband, Dr. Rev. Jerrold Foltz, of Centreville, Va., Ruth Hedrick Messmer and husband, David Joseph, of Greensboro; five grandchildren, Jonathan Lee Foltz and his wife, Madoline, of Baltimore, Md., Gregory Allen Keller and his wife, Katie, Maria Foltz Baylock and husband, Alan, of Centreville, Va., Carol Lee Foltz of Palo Alto, Calif., Benjamin Aubrey Messmer of New York, N.Y.; and four great-grandchildren, Francis Sunseri Baylock, Michael Alan Baylock, both of Centreville, Va., Peter Kwan and Sarah Madoline Foltz, both of Baltimore, Md.
A service of thanksgiving will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hedrick’s Grove United Church of Christ, Lexington. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-8 tonight at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington, and in the fellowship hall at the church following the service.

High Point - Carl Livingston Hinson, 78 of 705 Belmont Drive, died March 12, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.

Lexington - Larry Benjamin Hodges, 61, died March 12, 2000, at Rowan Memorial Hospital.

Vivian Hope
High Point - Mrs. Vivian Annette Hope, 66, a resident of 1219-C McCain Place, died March 11, 2000, at Wesleyan Arms Inc. where she had been a patient two days. She had been in declining health one year.
She was born in High Point, a daughter of Roland Hope Sr. and Bunice Jones Hope, both preceded her in death. She was a graduate of William Penn High School, class of 1952 and completed additional studies in New York City, relating to her career as a hematologist, where she was employed for 40 years. Upon returning to High Point, three years ago, she re-established her church affiliation at The Cedar Street Church of God, which was founded in the home of her parents.
Surviving relatives include a son, Steven Hope and his wife, Lavonne, of Durham; two grandchildren, LaDawn and Juanita; four brothers, Roosevelt Hope and his wife, Lamonte, of Winston-Salem, Donald Ray Hope of Greensboro, Roland Hope Jr. and his wife, Harriet, of Bronx, N.Y., James Hope and his wife, Lottie, of High Point; two sisters, Mrs. Nancy Cuthrell, Mrs. Angela Taylor and her husband, Donnell, all of High Point; there are nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and special friends.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Temple Memorial Baptist Church by the Rev. Haywood Gray, the Rev. W.H. Amerson and the Rev. Ray Brooks. Visitation will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church and other times at the residence.

Thomasville - Donald Leon McDaniel, 57, a resident of 5259 E. Holly Grove Road, died March 12, 2000 at his residence.

Charlie Moore
Winston-Salem - Charles Edward “Charlie” Moore, 66, died March 11, 2000 at High Point Regional Hospital.
He was born Aug. 6, 1932, in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Edward and Millie Thomas Moore. He was retired from B&W Metal Fabricators and was a U.S. Army veteran. On March 20, 1955, he married the former Margie Ann Allen who survives of the home.
Also surviving are two daughters, Charlene M. Seymour and husband, Charles, of Lexington and Cathy M. Hiatt and husband, Ray, of Winston-Salem; three sisters, May Lantz, Ruby Ogline and Violet Bass, all of Pennsylvania; a brother, Ernest Moore of Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Michael Shane Hiatt.
Funeral will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Foster Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Nance officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.

Beulah Parrish
Sophia - Mrs. Beulah Voncannon Parrish, 92, of 1991 Beckerdite Road, Sophia, died March 11, 2000, at her home.
She was born in High Pine of Randolph County. She was born Oct. 11, 1907, to William Lihugh and Lovella Parks Voncannon. In 1927, she was married to Locke Craig Parrish, who preceded her in death in 1966. She was a beloved wife and mother of 11 children. She worked most of her life as a homemaker, but also worked and retired from Harris & Covington Hosiery Mill. She loved working with her hands. She was very talented in crocheting and quilt making, but also loved making Raggedy Ann & Andy dolls, most of all. She was preceded in death by one son, Willard Reece Parrish in 1993; two sisters Ethel Staley and Mozelle Trogdon; and one brother, Lola Voncannon.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Frank (Iris Leigh) Hayes of N. Myrtle Beach, S.C., Mrs. Ira (Frankie) Pelletier of Oak Island, Mrs. Arnold (Linda) Styles of Burnsville; seven sons, Elvin Parrish and wife, Virginia, Wayne Parrish and wife, Viola, Lawson Parrish and wife, Margaret, all of Randleman, Paul Parrish and wife, Nancy, Donald Parrish and wife, Hilda, all of Sophia, Roger Parrish and wife, Jeannie, of Archdale, Tommy Parrish and wife, Betty, of Kernersville; a daughter-in-law, Lois “Tillie” Parrish of Thomasville; 31 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Emie V. Staley of Archdale, Gertha V. Tucker of High Point, Glennia V. Graves of Seagrove.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Midway Wesleyan Church, 331 Worthville Road, Randleman. The Rev. J. Arnold Luther will officiate. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro. Visitation will be 6-9 tonight at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 S. Main Street, Randleman.

Mary Robinson
Greensboro - Mrs. Mary Warner Robinson, 78, of 2900 N. Hampton Drive, died March 11, 2000, at Beverly Health Care, Starmount.
She was born May 22, 1921, in Guilford County, a daughter of Daniel Oliver and Lois Goode Warner. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women, Cox Fellowship, choir and handbell choir.
Surviving are her husband, John Fulton Robinson of the home; a daughter, Gina Robinson Hill and husband, Kyle, of Greensboro; a brother, Joseph M. G. Warner of Irmo, S.C.; and one grandson, Ryan Hill.
A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. today at Centenary United Methodist Church by the Rev. Ellis Rouse and the Rev. Don Ellis. The family will receive friends in the church parlor following the service.

High Point - Eugene Howard Stone, 70, a resident of 21840 N.C. Highway 8, a former resident of High Point, died March 12, 2000, at the V.A. Hospital in Salisbury.

Lila Campbell
Jamestown - Mrs. Lila Virginia Bell Campbell, 73, of 801 Bales Chapel Road, formerly of Cox Court, High Point, died March 10, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital following a lengthy illness.
She was born Sept. 18, 1926, in Portland, Tenn., a daughter of William and Eura Mae Troutt Bell. She was a resident of High Point since 1946 and retired in 1990 from Amos Hosiery Mill. She was of the Christian faith and was a loving grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. In January 1978, she married Henry Nelson Campbell, who preceded her in death October 1978. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Bell.
Surviving are a granddaughter, and her husband, Susanne and Daren Nunn, with whom she made her home; two great-granddaughters, Paige and Carrie Nunn; a sister, Mrs. Willa Mae Melton of Tampa, Fla.; and a brother, Charles Bell of Rossville, Ga.
Graveside service will be 3 p.m. Sunday in Floral Garden Park Cemetery by the Rev. Dan Roberts. There will be no visitation.

Lexington - Mrs. Claire Stevens Carlton, 55, of 334 Brown St. died at 9:31 a.m. March 10, 2000, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center after an illness of two months.
