Burton Selleseth
High Point - Burton O. Selleseth, 79, of 161-B Old Mill Road died March 5, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.
He was born July 16, 1920, in St. Peter, Minn. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in World War II, in Normandy, Rhineland and Central Europe. He received several citations and decorations including the Purple Heart metal. He was married to Esther “Judy” Pierce Selleseth, who preceded him in death Feb. 4, 1999. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service.
Surviving are a special friend, Lillian Alexander of High Point; a great aunt, Harriet Anderson of St. Peter, Minn.; a nephew, Carl Lundgren of Minneapolis, Minn.; and several close friends.
Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, High Point, by the Rev. Carroll M. Upton. Visitation will be noon Wednesday prior to the service.
Eugene Stone
Denton - Eugene Howard Stone, 70, of 21840 N.C. 8, formerly of High Point, died March 12, 2000, at the V.A. Hospital in Salisbury.
He was born Aug. 6, 1929, in High Point, a son of Vernon and Mary Osborne Stone. He moved to Denton from Garden Grove, Calif. He was a self-employed upholsterer for 30 years and he was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church. On July 30, 1948, he married Nancy Lavada, who survives of the residence. On July 30, 1998, their 50th anniversary, he and his wife repeated their same wedding vows to each other.
Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Mildred Colleen George and her husband, Bruce, of Las Vegas, Mrs. Sandra Jean Hink and her husband, Rodney, of Westminister, Calif, Mrs. Patty Kay Amey and her husband, Clifford, of Santa Ana, Calif., Mrs. Kathy Sue Evans and her husband, Paul, of Thomasville; a son, Eddie Howard Stone and his wife, Sarah, of Garden Grove, Calif.; his mother of Archdale; three sisters, Mrs. Maxine Moore of Archdale, Mrs. Roger (Clarene) Johnson of Archdale, Mrs. Walter (Virginia Gail) Wilson of High Point; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Sechrest Funeral Home, High Point, by the Rev. James F. Shetley. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

High Point - Mrs. Sarah Regina Craven Taylor, 53, of 226 Lewis Jones Road, died March 13, 2000, at her residence.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Cumby Family Service, High Point.
Patricia Bryan
Greensboro - Mrs. Patricia Freeman Bryan of 402 Munster Ave. died March 11, 2000, at her residence.
She attended Jackson Junior High School and Ben L. Smith High School. She enjoyed being a housewife and grandma “Nanny.”
Surviving are her husband, Robert Lee Bryan; a son and daughter-in-law, Drex Harding Jr. and his wife, Hayley Harding; a daughter and son-in-law, Kristi and James Jennings; three grandchildren, Joshua Jennings, and Jordan and Karly Harding, all of Greensboro; her parents, William and Sadie Freeman of Greensboro; two brothers, Bill Freeman Jr. of Greensboro and Mike Freeman of South Carolina; two sisters, Sue Freeman and Carol Freeman, both of Greensboro.
The family will receive friends at a remembrance service 2 p.m. Saturday at Welch Memorial United Methodist Church, High Point.

Bobby Earnhardt
Asheboro - Bobby Gene Earnhardt Sr., 60, of 3967 Earnhardt Road died March 15, 2000, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 7, 1939, in Randolph County, a son of Lawrence Wood and Evelyn Miller Earnhardt. He was a lifelong resident of Randolph County and was a member of Glenola Baptist Church. He owned and operated B&S Builders. On Dec. 28, 1962, he married the former Sarah White, who survives of the residence.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Keith (Syndie) Byrd of Emerald Isle; two sons, Bobby Earnhardt Jr. and his wife, Gina, of Asheboro, and Shane Earnhardt and is wife, Cindy, of Sophia; his parents of Asheboro; five grandchildren, Brian K. Byrd, Tyler Byrd, Hope Earnhardt, Sage Earnhardt and Jade Earnhardt; two brothers, Darryl Earnhardt of Denton and Larry Earnhardt of Archdale; and three sisters, Carolyn Lamar of Asheboro, Linda Gregory of Sophia, and Melissa Kearns of Asheboro.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Glenola Baptist Church by the Rev. Doug Davis and the Rev. Scott Wagoner. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 7-9 tonight at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale.

Sophia - Thomas Henry Hoskins, one day old infant son of Ryan and Jenny Hoskins, of 7228 U.S. 311, died March 14, 2000, at the Women’s Hospital in Greensboro.
Surviving are the parents of the residence; a sister, Emily Hoskins of the residence; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy L. Hodge of Trinity, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hoskins Jr. of High Point; and great-grandmothers, Mrs. Lorine Kidd of Trinity, Mrs. Elsie Hodge of New Port and Mrs. Elizabeth Parris of Boiling Springs, S.C.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Floral Garden Park Cemetery by the Rev. Barry Osborne and the Rev. Jill Auman. The body will be at Sechrest Funeral Home, High Point, until the hour of service. Visitation will be at the residence.

Lois Beeson
High Point - Mrs. Lois Pope Beeson, 70, of 812 Newell St. died March 14, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.
She was born May 14, 1929, in Guilford County, a daughter of Everett Reid and Freda Dennis Pope. She was a lifelong resident of High Point, and a member of Lexington Avenue Baptist Church. She was formerly employed by Harris-Teeter Super Market. On March 6, 1946, she married John Miller Beeson Jr., who survives of the residence.
Also surviving are two daughters, Judy Ann Brewer of Candor and Susan B. McKinney of Atlanta; a son, Tony Miller Beeson of Little Rock, S.C.; three grandchildren, Lori Buccos of Biscoe, Christopher Beeson of High Point, and Jennifer Hunt of Asheboro; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Lou McMahan of Southmont and Ethel Faye Bowers of High Point; and four brothers, Oliver Taft Pope, Kenneth Ray Pope and James Benny Pope, all of High Point and Bobby Pope of Chester, Va.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, High Point, by the Rev. John G. Allard and the Rev. Ray Hamilon. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home.

Lexington - Raymond Odell “Mose” Burkhart, 81, of Wildlife Road died March 14, 2000, at Lexington Memorial Hospital after an illness of three months.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Beck’s United Church of Christ. Visitation will be at the residence of Phillip Burkhart, 251 Wildlife Road.
George Frazier
High Point - George R. Frazier Jr., 72, of 3426 Greenhill Drive, died March 15, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.
He was born Oct. 21, 1927, in Guilford County, a son of George R. Frazier Sr. and Colon Hussey Frazier. He was a lifelong resident of High Point, and an insurance claims representative with Fireman’s Fund for 27 years retiring in 1987. He was a U.S. Navy veteran having served during World War II and was a member of First United Methodist Church. On Sept. 4, 1948, he married Inez Snider, who preceded him in death Jan. 13, 1997.
Surviving are a son, Eric Frazier of Carolina Beach; and a sister, Mrs. Lewis (Katherine) Freeman of High Point.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Sechrest Chapel, High Point, by the Rev. Mark E. Curtis. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
