Naomi W. Hughes
WINDSOR- Naomi White Hughes, 85, died March 26, 2002.
Survivors include her son, Eddie Hughes of Edenton; one brother, Phillip White of Askewville; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Walker Funeral Home, Windsor.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on March 28 at Edgewood Cemetery. Walker Funeral Homes, Windsor, is in charge of arrangements.
Edwin C. Perry
HARRELLSVILLE- Edwin Cola Perry, 67, died March 25, 2002 at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Jane Everett Perry; four daughters, Kathy Hill of Ahoskie, Karen Woodard of Powellsville, Sandra Daughtery of Thomasville and Cynthia Anderson of Greenville; four sisters, Marjorie Basnight and Mary Alice Brown, both of Colerain, Thelma Langston of Norfolk, VA, Peggy Rose of Windsor and one grandson.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 27 at 11 a.m. in Harrellsville Cemetery. Burial to follow.
Memorial donations may be made to University Health Care Hospice, P.O. Box 272, Ahoskie, N.C. 27910.

Julius O. Jenkins
AHOSKIE- Julius Oscar Jenkins, 86, died March 26, 2002 in Roanoke-Chowan Hospital. He was a member of Second Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Daisy Jenkins; three sons, Julius Jenkins, Jr. of Ahoskie, Harold N. Jenkins of Ahoskie, Ray D. Jenkins of Murfreesboro; seven daughters, Daisy O. Jenkins and Gloria Jenkins, both of Ahoskie, Janet Burke of Winton, Clarice Eley of Ahoskie, Dorothy Simpson of Virginia Beach, VA, Audrey Cherry of Ahoskie, Alicia Williams of Wilson; 39 grandchildren and 60 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday. March 30 at 2 p.m. in Second Baptist Church Union. Burial will follow in the Bryant Family Cemetery.
Hunter Funeral Home, Ahoskie, is in charge of arrangements.
Trent A. Watford
COLERAIN- Trent Anthony Watford died March 24, 2002 in Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Lafayette, LA.
Survivors include one son, Trenty Watford of Fort Bragg, Fayettville; one daughter, Juana J.W. Lyles, Germany; his mother, Tynise Watford of Colerain and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 30 at 3 p.m. in New Holley Grove Baptist Church, Colerain. Burial will follow in the Watford Family Cemetery, Colerain.

Willie A. Barnes
CONWAY- Willie Albert Barnes, 89, died March 27, at Halifax Regional Hospital, Roanoke Rapids. He had been predeceased by his wife, Lola B. Barnes, his parents, B.A. and Mary C. Barnes, a sister, Edna B. Grizzard and brothers, J. Presley Barnes and Oscar C. Barnes.
A native of Northampton County, he was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Seaboard.
He is survived by a son, Willie Ray "Bill" Barnes and his wife, Angie of Rocky Mount; granddaughters, Heather L. Barnes of Raleigh and her fiancé, Chris Van of Rocky Mount and Catherine F. Barnes of Plymouth; a sister, Rosie B. Long of Seaboard; a niece, Blonnie B. Johnson of Conway, with whom he resided since 1993; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in Bethany United Methodist Church by the Revs. Lee Pittard, III and Peggy D. Bridgers. Burial will follow in the Bridgers Family Cemetery.
The family will be receiving friends at Bridgers Funeral Home, Conway, from 7-8:30 p.m. on Thursday. The family requests that any memorial gifts may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church, in care of Francis Britt, 4583 NC Hwy 35, Conway, NC, 27820 or to Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, in care of Evelyn Stephenson, 3987 Mt. Carmel Rd., Jackson, NC, 27845.

COLERAIN- Trent Anthony Watford died Sunday, March 24, 2002 at Lady of Lourdes, in Layfayette, Louisianna.

Dora M. Askew
AHOSKIE- Dora Mae Askew died Sunday, March 24 in Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville. Mrs. Askew was a native of Bertie County and a member of Newsome Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, John Askew of Windsor; one daughter, Lori Askew of Ahoskie and six grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time. Reynolds Funeral Home, Ahoskie, is in charge of arrangements.
Hardin McFarland
COLERAIN- Hardin McFarland, 73, died Monday, March 25, 2002 in Roanoke-Chowan Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy McFarland; three daughters, Betty Moffett of Juliet, IL, Katheryn Foster of Lithonia, GA, Sandra Mack of Philadelphia, PA; one brother, John McFarland of Juliet, IL; three sisters, Cornelia Stallings of Chicago, IL, Theresa Williams of Juliet, IL; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 28 at 2 p.m. in Zion Hill Baptist Church. Burial will follow in McFarland Family Cemetery. Hunter Funeral Home, Ahoskie, is handling arrangements.
Nadine E. Fields
CHESAPEAKE, VA - Nadine Edmonds Fields, a native of Northampton County, died March 18, 2002, in her home in Chesapeake, Va.
A funeral was conducted at 11 a.m., March 25, 2002 at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, Portsmouth, by Dr. Curtis E. Edmonds. Burial followed in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake, Va.
Survivors include three daughters, Tammy N. Daniels of Suffolk, Toinette M. Duncan of Portsmouth and Chris T. Jones of Chesapeake, Va.; three sons, Pastor Robert H. Fields, Jr. and Kenny M. Fields, both of Chesapeake, Va. and Tracy L. Fields of New Mexico; her parents, Elnora J. Edmonds and Clifton B. Edmonds of Chesapeake, Va.; a sister, Tiny Holland of Portsmouth, Va; three brothers, Robert Edmonds of Suffolk, Va., Curley Edmonds of Chesapeake, Va. and the Rev. Chris L.B. Edmonds of North Carolina; 23 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
