Ollie R. Blanchard
PORTSMOUTH, Va. - Ollie Rountree Blanchard, 85, a native of Gates County, died October 26, 2001, at Maryview Medical Center.
She was the widow of Grady Ralph and Emmitt Blanchard.
A graveside service was conducted Sunday at Eureka Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Gregory Kitts.
Harrell and Hill Funeral Home and Cremation Services were in charge.
Mrs. Blanchard retired as a comptometer operator from Flowers Bakery.
She was a member of Green Lakes Baptist Church.
Survivors include a stepson, Dr. Edward Blanchard of Avirell, N.Y.; and a sister, Anne R. Pennywell of Virginia Beach.
Sidney M. Edwards
CONWAY - Sidney Myrick Edwards, 87, a native of Capron, Va., died October 27, 2001, at Southampton Memorial Hospital.
He was the widower of Mable Applewhite Edwards.
A graveside service was conducted Monday at Riverside Cemetery, Courtland, Va.
Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, Va., was in charge.
Edwards was the retired owner of Edwards Furniture Co. in Conway and was a member of Conway Baptist Church.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a sister-in-law; and nieces and nephews.
Willie L. Holley Sr.
MERRY HILL - Willie Lee Holley Sr., 63, died October 28, 2001.
A funeral was conducted Sunday at Peterson Chapel Baptist Church.
Gilliam Funeral Home was in charge.
Novella G. Blowe
BOYKINS, Va. - Novella Garris Blowe, 83, a native of Northampton County, died October 25, 2001.
A funeral was conducted Sunday at Wright Funeral Home, Boykins, by Pastor Charles W. Alvis of Berean Baptist Church.
Burial was in Beechwood Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Berean Baptist Church Parsonage Fund, P.O. Box 235, Boykins, VA 23827.
Mrs. Blowe was a member of Berean Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty Jean Gray of Boykins; two sisters, Willie Mae Worrell of Roanoke Rapids and Virginia Pope of Boykins; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Kareem A. Holley
MERRY HILL - Kareem Ali Holley, 27, died October 24, 2001.
A funeral was conducted Monday at Oxley Hill Baptist Church. Gilliam Funeral Home was in charge.
George W. Fulcher
CHESAPEAKE, Va. - George Wesley Fulcher, 59, a native of Weewinn, W.Va., died October 26, 2001.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Boulevard Chapel, by Dr. Clayton Beal.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Fulcher retired as a machinist from Metro Machine.
He was a member of Faith Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara A. Fulcher; two daughters, Ida M. Rountree of Chesapeake and Annette C. Harris of Powhatan; two sons, George W. Fulcher, Jr. of Gates and Charles E. Fulcher of Chesapeake; a sister, Ida Cook of Norfolk; five brothers, Joseph "Ed" Fulcher, Charles Fulcher and Ray Fulcher, all of Portsmouth, Billy Fulcher of Chesapeake and John Fulcher of Arkansas; 17 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Elizabeth P. Roberts
DURHAM - Elizabeth Parker Roberts, 97, a native of Pinetown, died October 20, 2001.
She was the widow of Dr. B.W. Roberts.
A memorial service was conducted Tuesday at St. Philip's Episcopal Church.
A graveside service was conducted in Gatesville.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Philip's Episcopal Church.
Howerton & Bryan Funeral Home was in charge.
Survivors include sons, Bennett Watson Cowper Roberts of Durham and Dr. Surry Parker Roberts of Raleigh; a sister, Jane Parker Bosman of Farmville; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Clarence J. Privott
BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Clarence J. Privott, died October 24, 2001, at Brookdale University Hospital.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Harrellsville, by the Rev. William R. Ashe.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Privott was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary J. Sloane; a son, Clarence J. Privott Jr. of Florida; his father, George W. Privott of Harrellsville; five brothers, Ronald D., Wayne D. and Phillip K. Privott, all of Harrellsville, Joseph Privott of Colerain and Elton R. Privott of Los Angeles, Calif.; and three sisters, Barbara P. Wiggins of Smithfield, Va., Brenda D. Privott of Harrellsville and Clara H. Harrell of Los Angels, Calif.
Bernice Cherry
AHOSKIE - Bernice Cherry, died October 28, 2001.

James C. Smitheman
CORAPEAKE - James Courtland Smitheman, 73, died October 19, 2001, in a Suffolk hospital.
A private memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at the residence.
Harrell Funeral Home, Gatesville, is in charge.
Smitheman was a retired Navy veteran serving 33 years.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Moore Smitheman; a daughter, Patricia D’Angelo of Corapeake; two sons, Jesse Stallnaker of San Diego, Calif., and Mark Smitheman of Corapeake; a sister, Joan Smitheman of California; two brothers, Buck and Robert Smitheman, both of California; and eight grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Thursday at St. Luke Baptist Church.
