ENFIELD -- Clara W. Wade, 90, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001, in Norfolk, Va.
J.L. Williams and Son Funeral Service in Enfield, is handling the arrangements, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 22 in the chapel, with the Rev. Charles C. Whitaker officiating.
Burial will follow in the Smith Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in Enfield.
A viewing will be held from 2 to 8 p.m., Friday, Sept. 21 at the funeral home.

ENFIELD -- Tracey Blue, 26, of Enfield, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2001.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 22 at Inborden Elementary School, with the Rev. Samuel McClain officiating.
Burial will follow in Enfield Memorial Cemetery.

ROANOKE RAPIDS -- Ida Pearl Mills, 59, of 79 Carver Street, Roanoke Rapids, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001, at Nash General Hospital in Rocky Mount.
She is survived by three daughters, Brenda Mills and Teresa Mills, both of Roanoke Rapids, and Melissa Mills of Youngsville; six sisters, Mandy Mills, Shirley Ransom, Clara Shearin, Hazel Rooks, Debby Davis and Sheliah Coley, all of Roanoke Rapids; two brothers, Tony Davis of Roanoke Rapids, and Willie Fitts of Hampton, Va.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five sisters-in-law, Vivian Coley of Emporia, Va., Mary Mills of New York City, Annie Clanton of Weldon, Louise Taylor of Virginia, and Virginia Fitts of Hampton, Va.; and six brothers-in-law, Joe L. Mills and Walter Shearin, both of Roanoke Rapids, James Tucker of Baltimore, Md., George Lee and Charles Mitchell, both of Roanoke Rapids, and Daren Coley of East Orange, N.J.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 7 at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Littleton, with the Rev. C.E. McCullom officiating.
Interment will follow in Crestview Memorial Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.

WINSTON-SALEM -- Funeral arrangements are incomplete and being handled by Faison Funeral Home in Seaboard, for Mrs. Gladys Johnson of Winston-Salem, who departed her life Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2001, at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Wake Forest.

NEWARK, N.J. -- Mrs. Julia Cotton, 75, of Newark, N.J., died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001, in New Jersey.
Mrs. Cotton is survived by her husband, Raymond Cotton of the home; a son, the Rev. James Batts (Judith) of Irvington, N.J.; a foster child, Evelyn Pender of Norfolk, Va.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lizzie Boyd of Norfolk, Va.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 6 at Mt. Hope Baptist Church in Jackson, with the Rev. Jake Manley officiating.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Elizabeth Katherine Hall Dennis
MATOACA, Va. -- Elizabeth Katherine Hall Dennis, 61, of Matoaca, Va., died Monday, Oct. 1, 2001, at Chippenham Medical Center in Richmond, Va.
Mrs. Dennis was born on Aug. 5, 1940, the daughter of the late Richard L. and Myrtle Click Hall.
She was a member of Matoaca Baptist Church, where she was a very active member serving in the V.B.S. and other church committees.
She was a retired employee of the W.R. Grace Company.
She is survived by three children, James Richard "Dickie" Dennis of Hopewell, Va., Pamela Lewis of Newport, and Diane Dennis of Virginia Beach, Va.; five stepchildren, Patricia Addair of Oklahoma City, Okla., Betty Jean Dennis of Birmingham, Ala., Rebecca Dennis of Henderson, Ky., Cathy Spivey of Birmingham, Ala., and James L. Dennis of Hopewell, Va.; seven sisters, Linda Carr of Matoaca, Va., Janice Farnan of Tampa, Fla., Judy Adkins of Dinwiddie, Va., Madonna Bryant of Chester, Va., Peggy Brown of Long Branch, West Va., Romona Messer of Newnan, and Sylvia Hall of Colonial Heights, Va.; three brothers, Randall Hall of Rocky Mount, Richard Hall of Prince George, Va., and Ronald Hall of Chester, Va.; and a former husband, James Leroy Dennis Sr. of Cumberland County, Va.
A celebration of life service was held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 4 at Matoaca Baptist Church.
The Rev. Donald Joyner officiated.
Interment followed in the Grove Cemetery in Cumberland County, Va.
