Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 28 at Carter's Chapel Baptist Church in Roanoke Rapids, with the Rev. George Battle officiating.
Interment will follow in Fleming Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.

ROANOKE RAPIDS -- Mr. Martin Luther Daniel, 70, of 253 Huckleberry Bottom Rd., Roanoke Rapids, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2001, at Halifax Regional Medical Center in Roanoke Rapids.
Mr. Daniel is survived by his wife, Laura P. Daniel of Washington, D.C.; his son, Martin LaRosa Daniel of Roanoke Rapids; his grandchild, LaRissa Daniel of Roanoke Rapids; his great-grandchild, Genesis Daniel of Roanoke Rapids; and his sister, Molester D. Fleming of Roanoke Rapids.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 31 at London Baptist Church in Roanoke Rapids, with the Rev. Eugene Bryant officiating.
Burial will follow in the Daniel Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.

ARLINGTON, TX -- Frederic Scott Ragan, 37, of 5807 Stage Line Dr., Arlington, TX, died Friday, Oct. 26, 2001, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Mr. Ragan was born in Boone and was a member of First Baptist Church in Arlington, TX.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Ussery; his mother, Audria Hinchman and her husband, David Arthur, of St. Augustine, Fla.; his father, Johnny H. Ragan Jr. of Boone; two stepsons, Charles Sewell and Brian Sewell, both of Roanoke Rapids; one brother, John Ragan III of Altamont Springs, Fla.; and one sister, Colleen Ragan of Boone.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Oct. 29 at Calvary Baptist Church, with the Rev. John Alford officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 30 at Mt. Lawn Memorial Park in Boone.
Askew Funeral Services in Roanoke Rapids is handling the arrangements, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., today, Oct. 28, and other times at the home of his mother-in-law, Dot Ussery of 660 Williams St., Roanoke Rapids.

Robert Lee Powers
ROANOKE RAPIDS -- Mr. Robert Lee Powers, 68, of 336 Rapids St., Roanoke Rapids, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001, at Halifax Regional Medical Center in Roanoke Rapids.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Jr.
Mr. Powers is survived by his wife, Linda Powers of the home; four daughters, Margaret Schwartz of Airville, Pa., Linda Moore of Roanoke Rapids, and Gail Lobaugh and Ann Shinauet, both of Virginia; four sons, Richard Powers of Roanoke Rapids, Phillip Powers of Gaston, and Mike and Mickey Matthews, both of Virginia; one sister, Bernie May Long of Roanoke Rapids; one brother, L.H. Powers of Gaston; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 27 at Cedarwood Cemetery.
A Baptist minister officiated.
Branch Funeral Home in Roanoke Rapids handled the arrangements.
Born in Northampton County, she was the daughter of the late Mack and Maude Baugham Garris.
She was preceded in death by a son, Clifton W. Blowe.
She is survived by one daughter, Betty Jean Gray and her husband, Billy, of Boykins, Va.; three grandchildren, Ray Blowe and Sheila Bailey of Boykins, and Jason Gray of Halifax; two great-grandchildren, Lee Nicholson and Sarah Juszil; and two sisters, Willie Mae Worrell of Roanoke Rapids, and Virginia Pope of Boykins.
Wright Funeral Home, 32247 South Main St., Boykins, Va., is handling the arrangements, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., today, Oct. 28, with Pastor Charles W. Alvis of Berean Baptist Church, where she was a member, officiating.

Robert Keith "R.K.' Barrett
CONWAY -- Mr. Robert Keith "R.K." Barrett, 21, died Friday, Oct. 26, 2001.
R.K. was a graduate of Northampton County High School-East and had attended Halifax Community College.
He was employed by Georgia-Pacific Resin Plant in Conway.
He was a member of Conway Baptist Church, Conway Volunteer Fire Department and was an avid skeet shooter, having won many awards.
He is survived by his parents, Tommy and Martha Barrett of Conway; a sister, Valerie Barrett of Conway; a special brother, Chad Whitley of Conway; his paternal grandmother, Elizabeth V. Barrett of Conway; his uncles and aunts, Dalton Edwards, Lavonne and Dick Williams, Vickie and Tom Gilliam, and Joe and Ellen Barrett; and numerous cousins and many friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., today, Oct. 28 at Conway Cemetery, with the Rev. Willie McLawhorn officiating.
The family will receive friends at the home, 512 E. Main Street, Conway.
