ROANOKE RAPIDS -- Funeral arrangements are incomplete and being handled by Cofield Funeral Home in Weldon, for Florence Jenkins of Roanoke Rapids, who died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2001, at Halifax Regional Medical Center in Roanoke Rapids.
Ollie Lee Daniel
SCOTLAND NECK -- Ollie Lee Daniel, 85, died Thursday, November 29, 2001.
He was a native of Halifax County.
A funeral service will be held today, Sunday, Dec. 2, at 2 p.m., at Cherry's Chapel Baptist Church in Hobgood, with the Rev. Glasecoe Mercer officiating.
Burial will follow in the Staton Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation was held Saturday, Dec. 1, from 1 to 8 p.m. Lionel Whidbee Funeral Home of Scotland Neck is in charge of arrangements.
Henry Laten Harrelson
HOBGOOD -- Henry Laten Harrelson, 70, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001.
Mr. Harrelson was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude Braddy Harrelson.
He is survived by his daughter, Trudy Harrelson Lynn and her husband, Donnie, of Tarboro, one son, Tony Harrelson and his wife, Donna, of Hobgood; and one granddaughter, Brittany Harrelson.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 3, at Hobgood Cemetery in Hobgood, with the Rev. Dempsey Winstead officiating.
The family will receive friends today, Sunday, Dec. 2, at Letchworth Funeral Home in Scotland Neck.
Arrangements are being handled by Letchworth Funeral Home in Scotland Neck.
Carmella Audrey Murphy Jenkins
SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Carmella Audrey Murphy Jenkins, 73, of Savannah, Ga., died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, at Riverview Nursing Home.
Born in St. John's, Newfoundland, Mrs. Jenkins was the daughter of the late John Patrick Murphy and Anne Harterey Murphy.
A former resident of Canada, she was a homemaker and had been a volunteer with the Canadian Mental Health Association.
She is survived by three sons, John Jenkins of Pallaska, Fla., West Jenkins and his wife, Sheree, of Littleton, and Jody Jenkins and his wife, Gwen Strauss, of Savannah, Ga.; one daughter, Gayle Jenkins of Toronto, Canada; and six grandchildren, Amy Gervais, Jennifer Gervia, Kristie Wommack, Noah Jenkins, Sophia Jenkins and Eliza Jenkins.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, Dec. 3 in the old section of Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
Hockaday Funeral Home in Roanoke Rapids is handling the arrangements, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 2.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Savannah, Ga., P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416.
Jane Gregory "Sweet" Millikin
WELDON -- Jane Gregory "Sweet" Millikin, 89, of 105 East 7th St., Weldon, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001, at Halifax Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Millikin was born in Halifax County, the daughter of the late Casper Wistar Gregory and Mary Rhem Gregory.
She spent her life as a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Al Millikin.
Mrs. Millikin is survived by three daughters, Jane Millikin Elks of Weldon, Patsy Millikin McClure of Franklin, N.C., and Julia Tabitha Millikin of Roanoke Rapids; one son, Perry Almond Millikin of Roanoke Rapids; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted Monday, Dec. 3, at 3 p.m., in Cedarwood Cemetery, Weldon with the Rev. Ben Duffey officiating.
The family will receive visitation at 105 East 7th St., Weldon, today, Sunday, Dec. 2, from 2 to 4 p.m.

Alice Wright Phelps
LITTLETON -- Alice Wright Phelps, 62, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2001 at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare.
Mrs. Phelps was a Warren County native, the daughter of Mr. William Henry and Nora Gibson Wright.
She was employed by Browning Electric Co., and was office manager for Halifax Electric.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Phelps.
Mrs. Phelps is survived by one son, James Phelps of Roebuck, S.C.; three sisters, Betty Young of Littleton, Margaret Lynch of Norlina, and Mary Frances Whitby of Lawrenceville, Va.; one brother, Henry Wright of Roanoke Rapids; and two grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held today, Sunday, Dec. 2, at 2 p.m., at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Littleton.
A visitation was held at Blaylock Funeral Home in Littleton on Saturday, Dec. 1 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Lloyd Nezabeth Wrenn
EMPORIA, Va. -- Mr. Lloyd Nezabeth Wrenn, 72, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001.
Mr. Wrenn was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church and Last Chance Hunt Club.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Parker Wrenn.
He is survived by his wife, Alma Rook Wrenn of Emporia, Va.; one son, Billy Wrenn and his fiancˇ, Cindy Wells, of Emporia; one sister, Inez W. Moore of Triplet, Va.; a sister-in-law, Hattie Wrenn of Roanoke Rapids; and two grandsons, Tyler and Brandon Wrenn.
Echols Funeral Home in Emporia, Va., is handling the arrangements, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 1 in the chapel, with the Rev. Lou Timmons officiating.
Interment will follow in the Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., today, Nov. 30 at the funeral home.
Flowers are welcome, but memorials may be made to the Greensville-Emporia Rescue Squad or to Ebenezer United Methodist Church.

ROCKY MOUNT -- Corrine Anthony Smith, 81, of Rocky Mount and a native of Scotland Neck, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 1 at Kehukie Baptist Church in Scotland Neck, with the Rev. Willie Taylor officiating.
Interment will follow in Staton Memorial Cemetery in Scotland Neck.

MURFREESBORO -- Paul Langston, Sr., 88, a native of Murfreesboro, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 1 at First Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, with the Rev. Robert Richardson officiating.
Interment will follow in Carver Park Cemetery in Murfreesboro.
