EAST ORANGE, NJ – Saluda Mae Jones, 93, of East Orange, NJ, formerly of Rich Square, died Monday, October 31, 2011 in Vauxhall, NJ.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday, November 6, 2011 at Chapel Hill Baptist Church, Rich Square.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.

AULANDER – Annie Romito Mayhood, age 93, of Aulander, passed away November 4, 2011 at Virginia Beach General Hospital in Virginia Beach, VA.
Anne was born March 31, 1918 in Minnesota, the daughter of the late Stephen Romito and Armalinda Ficera Romito.
Survivors include her daughter, Marlinda Akkerman and her husband, Klaas, of Aulander; her four sons, Corky Mayhood of Bonita Springs, FL, Steve Mayhood of Orange Springs, FL, Brian Mayhood of Norfolk, VA and Keith Mayhood of Brainard, MN; 17 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Anne Mayhood will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, November 6, 2011 in the chapel of Massey Funeral home in Aulander with the Rev. Joe Lassiter officiating.
The family will receive friends at other times at the home, 106 Pine Drive, Aulander.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Open Arms Church in Ahoskie.

BLUEMOUNTAIN, Ms. – Lula Pearl White Owen, 76, died Thursday, November 3, 2011, at her home inOxford, MS.
She was born June 11, 1935 in Harrellsville, NC.
She was an educator with 14 years in public education and 18 years as elementary education program and supervisor of student teachers at Blue Mountain College.
She received many awards including Outstanding EMC Faculty Member in 1985 and HEADWAE in 1992.
She was a Christian and a loyal member and teacher at Lowrey Memorial Baptist Church.
She led a godly life and was devoted to her family, church and community.
She was admired and respected by all who knew her and she will be greatly missed.
Funeral services were held Sunday, November 6, 2011 at Lowrey Memorial Baptist Church in Blue Mountain, MS, with Dr. Ron Mitchell and Dr. Douglas Bain officiating.
Burial was in the Blue Mountain Cemetery.
McBride Funeral Home of Ripley, MS handled the arrangements.
Survivors include three daughters, Lynn Clark (Paul) of Oxford, MS, Lynda Gatliff (Jim) of Celeste, TX, and Lisa Nachlinger (Dan) of Fort Worth, TX; one son, Donald Glenn Owen Jr. (Angie) of Tupelo, MS; seven grandchildren, Daniel and Chris Clark, Michael, Holly and Katie Gatliff, Lauren and Jordan Nachlinger; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Frost (Bill) of Baldwyn, MS and Lillian Anne Johnson (Mark) of Harrellsville, NC; one brother, Leonard M. Holloman Jr. of Harrellsville, NC; and one sister-in-law, Jean White of Harrellsville, NC.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Donald Glenn Owen Sr.; her parents, George and Charlotte White and Lillian and Leonard M. Holloman Sr.; her grandparents, Pearland Nate Hoggard; one brother, Nathan Hoggard White; two sisters and their husbands, Jennie V. Holloman (Willie) and Maggie Pearl Love (Earl).

WINTON – Nettie Mae Britt Futrell, 83, of 110 River Road, Winton, died Thursday, November 17, 2011 in Guardian Care of Ahoskie.
Mrs. Futrell was born in Northampton County and was the daughter of the late Luther John and Annie Rebecca Vann Britt.
A homemaker, she also had been employed as a teller with the former Tarheel Bank in Winton.
A member of Winton Baptist Church, she had served as a Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Bryant Futrell, Jr.; a son, John B. Futrell; a sister, Grace Britt; four brothers, William, Godwin, Guy and Southgate Britt; and a granddaughter, Susan Parker.
Surviving are her two sons, Joseph Futrell and wife, Joyce, and David Futrell and wife, Debbie, all of Winton; a brother, Rev. Wallace Britt and wife, Dorothy, of Canton; two sisters-in-law, Clara Britt of Murfreesboro and Sarah Britt of Raleigh; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 20, 2011 in Winton Baptist Church by the Rev. Steve Wall.
A private burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may join the family on Saturday in the church from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., in the church social hall immediately following the service, or all other times at the home of her son, Joseph, 411 E. Pine Street, Winton.
Arrangements are being handled by Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville.

ASHLAND, VA – Janiceteen Williams Duncan, 70, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2011 at Memorial Regional Medical Center in Hanover, VA.
Formerly of Powellsville, Mrs. Duncan was born in Bertie County to the late Henry Clay Williams and Lois Dilday Williams.
She retired as an office manager for Beverly Enterprises and attended the First Baptist Church in Ashland, VA.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Charlene Mitchell and husband, J.W., of Doswell, VA; grandchildren, Emma, Paige and Charlotte; a brother, Kendred Williams and wife, Mary Anne of Powellsville; a sister, Annette Glosson of Ahoskie; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Jimmie Williams.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 25, 2011 at Highland Memorial Gardens with Cecil Holloman Jr. officiating.
