Jessie M. Sneed
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Jessie Mae Sneed (Hardy), 77, died May 3, 2002 at Mary Immuculate Hospital.
Sneed was a native of Hertford County.
Survivors include four daughters, Edith R. Brooks of Murfreesboro, CarDean Newsome of Boston, Mass., Peggy Bishop and Bensie Williams of Newport News, Va.; one son, Samuel Sneed of Newport News, Va.; three sisters, Ernestine Gatling of Murfreesboro, Ruth Lassiter of Portsmouth, Va. and Cleo Valentine of Brooklyn, NY; 18 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at 12 noon on May 9, 2002 at the Newport News Church of Chirst.
Katie O. Clark
PORTSMOUTH, Va - Katie O. "Jackie" Clark, 83, died May 10, 2002. Clark is a native of Corepeake.
Survivors include her husband, Floyd Clark, Jr.; a daughter, Daryl W. Clark of Portsmouth; a son, Blaine Clark of Lanham, Md; three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., today at Fellowship United Church of God, Chesapeake, Va. with the Rev. William Collins officiating.
Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake.
The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. today.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Miller Home and Day Nursery, 1400 Camden Ave., Portsmouth, Va 237014, in honor of her love for children.
Tencie C. Duke
POTECASI- Tencie C. Duke, 94, died Friday, May 10, 2002 at Britthaven Nursing Home in Edenton.
Mrs. Duke was the widow of Andrew J. Duke of Potecasi.
Born in Lasker, she was the daughter of the late Johnny and Tabitha Colson.
She was a member of Potecasi Baptist Church, where she was active in her Sunday School class and the W.M.U.
She is survived by a son, Richard Duke and his wife, Dot of Williamston; two daughters, Mary Nooney of Roanoke Rapids, Linda Perry and her husband, Dan of Colerain; a daughter-in-law, Betty Duke of Ahoskie; grandchildren, Ricky Duke of Aulander, Randy Duke of Greenville, Chad Duke of Williamston, Tula Polvadore of Ahoskie, Freddy Jenkins of Chapel Hill, Mary DeLoatch of Roanoke Rapids, Andy Smith of Eure, Michael Smith of New Orleans, LA, Becky Perry of Colerain; a sister, Lizzie Barnes of Potecasi; eight great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins and one special friend, Madge Jenkins of Potecasi.
Mrs. Duke was predeceased by a son, Willie, a daughter, Elsie Catherine, her brothers, Thomas Colson and Reuben Colson and her sister, Tabitha Martin.
Celebration services were held at Potecasi Baptist Church on Monday, May 13 at 2 p.m. by Pastor Harold DeLong.
Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Potecasi Baptist Church.

Frazier C. Savage
KELFORD- Funeral services were held for local educator, Frazier Creecy Savage, on Monday, May 13 at 1 p.m. in First Baptist Church in Rich Square.
She was retired from Northampton County Schools.
Survivors include siblings, W.S. Creecy, Jr. of Rich Square, Hollis F. Creecy of Sunbury and Myrtle C. Crockett of Raleigh.
William B. Wynn, Sr.
AHOSKIE- William B. Wynn, Sr., 77, of the 100 block of Modlin Road, died May 6, 2002 in his home.
Mr. Wynn was a native of Martin County, a member of Union Baptist Church and a disabled veteran of WWII, Army Air Corps.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 9 at Garrett Funeral Home in Ahoskie with Rev. Jimmy Ward officiating.
Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.
Surviving are three sons, Don Wynn of Allentown, PA, Barry Wynn of Murfreesboro, William B. Wynn, Jr. of Ahoskie; one daughter, Bernie Shauf of California; one grandson, Scott Wynn; one granddaughter, Amber Wynn; one great-grandson, Dylan Futrell.
The family received friends at the Funeral Home from 7-8:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Arimentha Hill
WINDSOR- Arimentha Hill, 63, died April 24, 2002 at Brookdale Hospital, Brooklyn, NY.
She was a native of Bertie County and a member of the House of Faith Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Yolanda Hill; three sons, Melvin Hill, Larnell Hill and Steven Hill, all of Brooklyn, NY; one sister, Mary Monroe; one brother, Jacob Hill of Brooklyn, NY and 11 grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 3 at the Hill Family Cemetery in Windsor.
Gilliam Funeral Home was in charge.

RICH SQUARE- Samuel Henry Belfield, 86, died May 3, 2002 in Halifax Regional Hospital, Roanoke Rapids.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, May 9, at Chapel Hill Baptist Church, Rich Square.

Willie B. Lewis
WINDSOR- Willie Bell Lewis, 78, died May 3, 2002 at the Brian Center in Windsor.
She was a member of True Gospel Ministries.
Survivors include seven sons, Paul Lewis of Cofield, Zeb Lewis, Jr., of Williamston, James Speller of Hamilton, Lester Lewis, Dartanaya Lewis, Fletcher Norwood, all of Durham; an adopted son, Tony R. Taylor of Durham; five daughters, Alice Horsey of Baltimore, MD, Doris Lewis of Ahoskie, Linda Speller of Durham, Carolyn Everett of Oak City and LaTonya Sims of Ahoskie.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 11 in Phillipi Baptist Church, Cofield.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. on Friday, May 10 at the Smith Community Funeral Home.

CHEVY CHASE, Md.- Bishop J. Clinton Hoggard, 85, died May 5, 2002.
Graveside services will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 11 in the Hoggard Family Cemetery, Powellsville.

Glorian Barnes
SUFFOLK - Glorian Byrd Barnes, 76, a native of Northampton County, died May 6, 2002 at Obici Hospital.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan B. Callis of Suffolk, Va. and Jane B. Cornett of Windsor, Va.; two sons, Wilson Barnes and James Barnes, both of Suffolk, Va.; three sisters, Vonnie B. Davis of Suffolk, Va., Marie B. Smith of Ahoskie and Armette B. Warren of Murfreesboro; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday at Liberty Baptist Church, Suffolk, Va. with the Rev. T.A. Powell officiating.
Burial will follow in the Holly Lawn Cemetery.
Friends may join the family at Harrell and Hill Funeral Home and other times at the residence of her daughter, Susan, 617 W. Constance Road, Suffolk, Va.
