Dorothy W. Eure
WINTON- Dorothy Whitley Eure, 71, died May 2, 2002 in Nash General Hospital, Rocky Mount.
She was a native of Hertford County and a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Deborah Eure Slaughter, Dottie Eure Latham, both of Ahoskie, Patricia Eure Doughtie of Rocky Mount, Cynthia Eure Green of Edenton; two sons, George Gregory Hodges of Rocky Mount, Ronald Wayne Eure of Ahoskie; one brother, Donald Whitley of Suffolk, VA; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 4 in Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie.
Burial followed in Highland Memorial Gardens, Ahoskie.
Alison M. Luna
MURFREESBORO- Alison Marie Luna, age 12, of the 600 block of Spring Avenue, died Friday, May 3, 2002.
Alison was born in Tampa, Florida on May 4, 1989, and was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, Murfreesboro.
She was a student at Hertford County Middle School.
Miss Luna is survived by her mother, Barbara Wommack of Murfreesboro; her father, Daniel Luna of Greensboro; three sisters, Patricia Hale and her husband, Otho, Hope Luna and Tina Fernandez, all of Murfreesboro; one brother, James Luna and his wife Tammy, of Fort Polk, LA; maternal grandfather, Rufus Wommack of Murfreesboro; and three nephews, Ashton Robards, Levi Robards and Chrystian Robards, all of Fort Polk, LA.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8, in Mt. Tabor Baptist Church by the Rev. Wint Hale and Rev. Billy Sellers.
Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie from 6-9 p.m., on Monday with the casket closed and from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, with the casket open.
Memorial donations may be made to "The Alison Luna Memorial Fund", 613 Spring Avenue, Murfreesboro, NC, 27855.
Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, is serving the Luna family.
Lillie Mae Justice
COLERAIN- Lillie Mae Castello Justice died on April 29, 2002 in Newport News, Virginia.
She was a native of Harrellsville and a member of Colerain Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, John W. "Billy" Justice of Newport News, VA; her daughter, Judy A. Haser of Washington; three sisters, Helen Perry of Colerain, Joni Ward of Virginia Beach, VA, Wanda Cichon of Utica, NY; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 2 at Colerain Baptist Church.
Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Colerain.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Colerain Rescue Squad or to Colerain Baptist Church.
J.B. White
COLERAIN - J.B. White died April 27, 2002 in Bronx, New York.
Survivors include one daughter, Joyce Perry, of Bronx, NY; three sons, William White, Willie White, both of Colerain, William Spruill of Yonkers, NY; one sister, Elsie White of Merry Hill, NC; nine grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 4 in Zion Hill Baptist Church, Colerain.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

NEW YORK - Mr. J.B. White, died April 27, 2002 in New York.

Nicholas F. McClintock
WINTON - Nicholas Franklin "Curley" McClintock, 67, died April 27, 2002 in his home of the 200 block of Tunis Road.
Mr. McClintock was born in Toledo, OH and had retired from the Medical College of Ohio and also from EASCO Aluminum.
He had attended Holy Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Beulah Lewis McClintock of the home; a daughter, Regina Peppers of Alabama; a son, Nicholas F. McClintock, II of Ahoskie; four step-children, Dawn Lewis of Toledo, OH, Robin Kunz of Maumee, OH, Stacy Timpe of Ann Arbor, MI and Curtis Eddings, Jr. of Toledo; thirteen grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Mr. McClintock is being sent to Hoeflinger Funeral Home in Oregon, OH for services and burial.
Miller Funeral Home of Gatesville assisted the family with local arrangements.
Elizabeth S. Mejia
PORTSMOUTH, Va - Elizabeth Smith "Dee Dee" Mejia, 96, a native of Severn, died April 27, 2002.
Survivors include her daughter, Karen Colasanti of Portsmouth, Va; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A graveside service was conducted at 11 a.m., April 29, 2002 in Olive Branch Cemetery by the Rev. Tom Potter.
Loving Funeral Home, Church Chapel handled arrangements.
Nancy Victoria Myrick
WINTON - Ms. Nancy Victoria Myrick died April 19, 2002 at her home in Winton.
Survivors include five daughters, Alvania Harrison of Hampton, Va., Peggy Lewter, Cutha Jeffcoat and Shirley Cherry, all of Winton and Carrie Elizabeth Smith of Eure; two sons, James Thomas Myrick of Hampton, Va. and John Jordan Myrick of Winton; two foster sons, John David (JD) Williams of Cofield and John C.S. Jernigan of Winton; sixteen grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., today, at Phillipi Baptist Church, Cofield with the Rev. William H. Lassiter officiating.
Burial will follow in Millneck Baptist Church Cemetery.

John Henry Lassiter
GATES - John Henry Lassiter, 80, died April 21, 2002 at his home.
Lassiter was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Issac Simon Balmer
CONWAY - Issac Simon Balmer, 53, died April 17, 2002 at his home.
Balmer worked as a maintenance worker for Northampton County Schools.
Survivors include his wife, Delois L. Balmer of the home; one son, Kevin Balmer of Jackson; one daughter, Angela Majette of Raleigh; one brother, Charles G. Balmer of Jackson; three sisters, Lillie Moore of Jackson, Brenda Balmer of Rich Square and Alice Bronson of Garysburg and one grandchild.
A funeral service was conducted at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, April 21, 2002 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Woodland with Milton Parker officiating.
Burial followed in Moore/Balmer Family Cemetery in Jackson.
