LELAND MCNEILL
ROBBINS - Leland Williams McNeill, 79, of 148 Rushwood St., died Thursday (1/23/03) at Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation in Siler City.
A native of Moore County, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sara Ussery McNeill and a son, Mickey McNeill, and was retired from Robbins Mills.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Robbins First Baptist Church with the Rev. Ernest Ferrell officiating. Burial will be in Pine Rest Cemetery.
He is survived by a daughter, Myra Hamilton, of Siler City, and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Kennedy Funeral Home.
MABIN JONES
SILER CITY - Mabin Kelly Jones, 74, of 1800 Will Brown Road, died Thursday (1/23/03).
A native of Chatham County, he was a member of First Wesleyan Church. He was a poultry farmer for 27 years and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by a brother, Wade H. Jones.
Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Kevin Stumbo and the Rev. Dennis Boone. Burial will be in Big Meadows Primitive Baptist Church, Pittsboro.
He was survived by his wife, Wilma Allen Jones of the home; stepsons, Thomas Hargrove of Goldston, Joe Wright and Horton Wright Jr., both of Siler City and Pete Wright of Pittsboro; stepdaughters, Ann Wilson and Gail Metz, both of Bear Creek; a brother, Samuel R. Jones of Siler City; a sister, Burnice Shore of Greensboro and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home.
CHARLIE COX
BROADWAY - Charlie "Shag" Cox, 88, of Broadway, died Friday (1/24/03) at Central Carolina Hospital.
A native of Harnett County, he was a son of Oscar T. Cox and Fannie Belle McLeod Cox. He owned and operated Cox's Moonight Service Station, was a World War II veteran and retired from civil service at Ft. Bragg. He was a lifetime member of Mt. Pisgah Presbyterian Church.
Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Pisgah Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Doug Houston. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He is survived by a brother, Lewis Bragg Cox of Sanford.
Memorial gifts may be made to Mt. Pisgah Presbyterian Church.

ALYCE MILLICAN
CHAPEL HILL - Alyce McLeod Millican, 64, of Chapel Hill, died Friday (1/24/03).
A native of Fayetteville, she was a child of the late Inez Harrington McLeod and Edward W. McLeod Jr. After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, she was a high school English teacher for many years in both the Cumberland and Guilford county school systems. She was also employed with the Guilford County Department of Social Services.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday in Lafayette Memorial Park, Fayetteville, by the Rev. Leighton McKeithan.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Smith Funeral Home in Broadway.

SANFORD - Ed Dixon, 98, of 305 Williams St., formerly of Batesville, Miss., died Monday (1/20/03) at home.
He worked at Morgan's Tobacco Warehouse until he retired after coming to Sanford.
A church service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Mark United Church of God by the Elder B. Currie. Burial will be at Tempting Church cemetery.
He is survived by daughters, Ernestine Murphy and husband Jack and Katie Petty, all of Sanford; sons, Princeton A. Noxon and Grady Petty Jr., both of Sanford, Grady Petty III of Charlotte, and Robert McNeil of Lauelton, N. Y.
The family will receive friends in the home.

SANFORD - Funeral services for William Collins Hodges, 77, of 1415 Lord Ashley Drive, who died Tuesday (1/21/03), were conducted Friday at the First Presbyterian Church by Dr. Carl Rush and the Rev. Richard Martindale.
Organist was David Almond. The congregation sang.

BUNNLEVEL - Funeral services for Rachel D. Mason, 82, of Bunnlevel, who died Wednesday (1/22/03), were conducted Friday by Dr. Roland Byrd at O'Quinn-Peebles Chapel. Burial was in Flat Branch Presbyterian Church cemetery.
Pianist was Joyce Holder. Vocalists were Edith Hall and Joyce Holder.
Pallbearers were Johnny Byrd, Johnathan Byrd, Tommy Byrd, Malcolm Holder, Eddie Haire Jr., and Johnny Parker.
