A church service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Cameron Grove A.M.E. Zion Church in Broadway by the Rev. C.L. McDougald and the Rev. Jace Cox. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
There will be no wake.
She is survived by her mother, Clarabell Chubbs of Sanford; sons, Harry C. Chubbs and wife Dianne of Sanford and Jessie L. Cameron and wife Angie of McDonugh, Ga.; daughters, Clara Chubbs of Broadway and Rena Cameron-Ray and husband Randy of Bunnlevel; sisters, Sadie L. Blue of Broadway and Illa Paschall and husband James of Baltimore, Md; brothers, Harry McIver and wife Annie Ruth of Sanford, William Chubbs Jr. and wife Nurcell of California and John Robert Chubbs of Broadway and seven grandchildren.

LILLINGTON - Meta C. Adcock, 81, of 941 Grameta Lane, died Wednesday (7/16/03) at Duke Medical Center.
She was a member of Woodside United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Adcock Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Ann Benson. Burial will be in Willow Spring Primitive Baptist Church cemetery.
She is survived by daughters, Pat A. McKee of Lillington, Nell A. Hudson of Garner and Sue A. Horton of Jordan Lake; a sister, Treva C. Womble of New Hill; a brother, Aubrey M. Cox of Sanford; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Adcock Funeral Home.

SANFORD - Funeral service for Virginia Feaster, 68, of 1611 Tempting Church Road, who died Sunday (7/13/03), was held Wednesday at Oak Grove Holiness Church by Pastor Pearline McMillian. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Rev. Jonathan Hawes gave the Old Testament reading and the Rev. Tim Worthy read from the New Testament.
Rev. Lee Barrett gave the prayer of comfort. There were selections by Anita Dixon and Tammy Watson and acknowledgments by Faye Newby. Rev. Charles Page gave words of encouragement. Rev. Pearline McMillian gave the eulogy.
Floral bearers and pallbearers were friends of the family.

SANFORD - Funeral services for Pauline Wicker Brown, 82, of 69 Polly Lane, who died Monday (7/14/03), were held Wednesday at Antioch Baptist Church in Mamers by the Rev. Martin Groover and the Rev. Mike Oldham. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Soloist was Gloria Chastain. Pianist was Joey Holmes.
Pallbearers were Tony Brown, Rodney Brown, Gary Brown, Brandon Brown, Randy Whitaker and Bobby Sharpe.

SANFORD - Etrusa Mae Roberts Harris, of 743 S. Plank Road, died Tuesday (7/15/03) at Flushing Hospital in Flushing, N.Y.
Services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at New Hope A.M.E. Zion Church by the Rev. Garry Foskey and the Rev. Christopher Jones. Interment will follow in Lee Memory Gardens.
She is survived by sons, George Calvin Harris and wife Gweneth of Atlanta, Robert Earl Harris of Spring Lake, Wayne Rogers Harris, at home, Stephen Bernard Harris and wife Edwina of Washington, D.C., Erwin Keith Harris and wife Dianne of Jamaica, N.Y.; daughters, Delois Maxine Borders and husband Clate of Spring Lake, Theola Mae Smith and husband Glen of St. Albans, N.Y., and Janice Marie Harrison and husband James of Spring Lake; brothers, Clawson Roberts and wife Odessa, John Roberts and wife Lucille, Sion Roberts Jr. and wife Hazel and Thurman Roberts and wife Joyce; 18 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Horton Funeral Chapel and other times at the home.

SANFORD - Funeral services for Eunice Adams "Preacher" Davenport, who died Wednesday (7/16/03) were conducted Friday at St. Luke United Methodist Church by Dr. R. Carl Frazier Jr. and Dr. Vernon C. Tyson. Burial followed in Buffalo Cemetery.
During the service the congregation sang. Organist was James D. Kimball.
Pallbearers were John Davenport, Mark Davenport, Gibbs Davenport, Michael Davenport, Paul Davenport and Larkin Crissman.

JAMES HARRIS
PITTSBORO - James "Jim" Walter Harris, 77, of Pittsboro, died Tuesday (7/22/03).
He was a native of Chatham County and worked at Chatham Mills. He served in the United States Army. He was a member of Pittsboro United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Isley Harris.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in Pittsboro United Methodist Church cemetery by the Rev. Ray Gooch.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Griffin Funeral Service.

FREDERICK FOUSHEE
NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Frederick Watson "Jack" Foushee, 83, formerly of Greensboro, N.C., died Saturday (7/19/03).
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Forest Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. Charles W. Baker Jr.
He was born in Sanford, N.C., to Sam B. and Verna Foushee. He was a graduate of Elon College with a degree in chemistry. He was employed for many years with Standard Oil of Indiana, which became Amoco and then British Petroleum, as a chemist and was manager of the research and development facility upon his retirement in 1986. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Among survivors is a sister, Carolyn and husband William Parrish of Sanford.

BROADWAY - Funeral service for Cecil Carr Thomas, 79, of 315 S. Main St., who died Monday (7/21/03), was held Wednesday at Broadway Presbyterian Church by Dr. Harold Stone. Burial was in the Broadway Town Cemetery.
The congregation sang. Organist was Virginia Strucinski.
Pallbearers were Jeff Thomas, Gattis B. Thomas Jr., Michael Thomas, Reggie Braxton, Perry Thomas and Sid Thomas.
Honorary pallbearers were Boyd Childress, Burke Buchanan, Clyde Rosser, Elton Cameron, elders of the Broadway Presbyterian Church and members of VFW Post 5631.

SANFORD - Funeral services for Lois Stevens Dawson, who died Friday (7/18/03), were held Wednesday at Turner's Chapel Church by the Rev. Bruce MacInnes. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
The congregation sang. Carolyn D. Weber gave the eulogy. Gwen Wicker was the pianist.
Pallbearers were Eric Weber, Jay Dawson, Brian Priest, Michael Lyon, J. Ray Hunter and Ron Stevens.

Susan and David Currin and Chris Whitlow sang. Organist was Randy Smith. Pianist was Jackie Jaggers.
