LILLINGTON - Richard Ray Otis Guerrero Jr., infant son of Ashley and Richard Guerrero, 9874 N.C. 27 West, died Friday (6/6/03) at Randolph Hospital Inc. in Asheboro.
Private graveside service will be conducted Wednesday by Father Joseph Mack. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are a brother, Jackson Tanner Guerrero, at home; grandparents, Dawn Wheatley of Graham, Britt and Karen Wheatley of Climax, and Shane and Pat Likes of Lillington; and great-grandparents, Perry and Ruth Wycough of Climax, Bob and Janie Tuggle of Ramseur, Christina Guerrero of Laredo, Texas, and Gene and Elaine Likes of Onieda, Ill.
The family will receive friends at the home.

SPRUCE PINE - Memorial services were held Monday for Rex Eugene Robinson, 61, of 45 Wildflower Road, who died Saturday (6/7/03).
He was a deacon at Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church in Sanford.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanne Robinson, at home.

BROADWAY - Funeral for George Lindley Brafford, who died Saturday (6/7/03) was held Monday at First Baptist Church by the Rev. Eric Porterfield and the Rev. Del Parkerson. Burial followed at Lee Memory Gardens.
The congregation sang. Soloist was the Rev. Sharon Updyke.
Pallbearers were Steve Brinson, Ander Brown, Amos Brown, Owen Dowdy, Doug Gunter and Barry Dowdy.

CHARLES E. BAILEY
BROADWAY - Charles E. Bailey, 82, formerly of Culloden, W.Va., died Saturday (6/7/03) at Oak Haven Rest Home in Sanford.
A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he was a retired truck driver and a member of the International Teamsters Local No. 175. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah V. Bailey.
Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Forest Memorial Park in Milton, W.Va.
Surviving are daughters, Vivian Thompson of Richmond, Va., and Deborah Dodd of Hay Market, Va.; sons, Dann Bailey of Canton, Ohio, and Gregory A. Bailey of Broadway; step-sister, Alta Lewis of Hurricane, W.Va.; grandchildren, Bradley Thompson, Brian Thompson Allena Grace Bailey, Lauren Renae Mascitti, Caitlin Faye Whitaker and Daniel Miles Whitaker.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Chapman Funeral Home in Hurricane, W.Va.

PAUL ATWOOD
SPARTA - The Rev. Paul L. Atwood, 72, of Sparta, passed away Sunday (6/8/03) at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
Born May 30, 1931, in Hickory, to the late Hazel and Sophina Darnell Atwood, he was the pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church in Elk Creek, Va., where he had served for 19 years. He was a former pastor of Laurel Springs Baptist Church in Ashe County, N.C., having served for 15 years.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Atwood, at home; son and daughter-in-law, Michael W. and Jennifer Atwood of Sparta; daughter and son-in-law, Donna A. and Phillip A. Hunt of Sanford; stepson, Gary F. Gullion of Darlington, Md.; special friend, Richard A. Mooneyhan of Piney Creek; five grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren.
The body is at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home in Independence, Va. Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Fellowship Baptist Church in Elk Creek, Va. Interment will follow in Comers Rock Cemetery. The Rev. Don Ball will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at Fellowship Baptist Church in Elk Creek, Va.

SANFORD - Mildred Dargan Welch Harvley, 88, of 1801 Wicker St., died Wednesday (7/16/03) at Parkview Retirement Center.
A native of Darlington, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Benton DuBose Dargan and Mildred Ervin Dargan. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Sterling Welch and J.C. Harvley.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Grove Hill Cemetery in Darlington, S.C., by Dr. Sam Cooper. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She is survived by daughters, Mildred W. Pridgen and husband William of Kingstree, S.C., and Deetz W. Mullins and husband Derrell of Sanford; a brother, Ervin E. Dargan of Darlington; sisters, Sara Williamson of Darlington, Frances Clarkston of Sumter, S.C., and Bess Barron of Rock Hill, S.C.; two grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

SANFORD - Hester Ellerbe, of 500 Dudley St., Apt. 311, died Tuesday (7/15/03).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Winston Ellerbe and Lucy Leak Ellerbe, his wife Clara Bethune Ellerbe, and a son Larry Ellerbe.
He is survived by a son, Donald Ellerbe of Sanford, and sisters, Myrtle McMillan of Durham and Jeanette Fox of Sanford.
Services will be held Saturday at True Apostolic Deliverance Center by the Bishop Samuel Thomas. Burial will follow in Womack Cemetery.

CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Mary N. Strader, 88, formerly of Greensboro and Sanford, N.C., died Saturday (7/12/03).
She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Strader.
A burial service will be held at 11 a.m. Aug. 2 at Guilford Memorial Park in Greensboro.
She is survived by a daughter, Betty Boyd and husband Jim, two grandchildren and a great-grandson.

SANFORD - Funeral services for Lillian May Webster, 90, of Sanford, who died Monday (7/14/03), were held Thursday at Miller-Boles Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Donald Thompson and the Rev. Judy Drye. Burial was in Buffalo Cemetery.
Organist was Cynthia Spivey. Special music was by Lynn Green and Danny Wicker.
Pallbearers were Jerry Oldham, Marvin Johnson, Gerald Thomas, Lynn Gaines, Charles Neal and Tim Cunnup.
