BROADWAY - Funeral service for Lucy Elizabeth Bennett Garrett, 87, of 317 Edgewater Drive, who died Tuesday (1/21/02), was held Friday at Mt. Pisgah Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Doug Houston and the Rev. Al Edwards. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Two choirs sang.
Pallbearers were the Revs. Bob Bradham, Thomas Oleary, Bert Pitchford and Elinos Whitelock and Drs. Dawes Graybeal and Harold Stone.
Arrangements were by Smith Funeral Home.
LARRY SIMMONS
SANFORD - Larry Donnell Simmons, 50, of 207 Temple Ave., died Wednesday (4/9/03) at Central Carolina Hospital.
Arrangements are pending at Watson Mortuary.
DOROTHY REGISTER
BURLINGTON - Dorothy Lisenby Register, 87, of 2435 Hickory Ave., Burlington, died Wednesday, April 9, 2003, at the Hospice Home of Alamance-Caswell.
The wife of the late Rev. Dr. Kenneth Davis Register, she was born in Guilford County. She was the daughter of the late Daniel Duncan Lisenby and the late Anna Weaver Lisenby.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Mrs. Register was active in various church activities, including being actively involved in the United Church of Christ Southern Conference.
She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis R. Wells and her husband Rob, of Cabbage Key Island, Fla.; her son, John Kenneth Register of Burlington; three grandchildren, Kate Register, Kenneth Wells and his wife Melina and Robert Wells. She is also survived by her sister, Mrs. Helen L. Kain of Albrightsville, Pa. She was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Lisenby Harrison, and a brother, Harry C. Lisenby.
The funeral service will be held Sunday, April 13, 2003, at 3 p.m. in the Beverly Hills United Church of Christ, where she was a member. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Emmett Floyd. Burial will be in the Union Ridge United Church of Christ cemetery.
The family will receive friends in the church parlor from 2 p.m. Sunday until time for the service. Other times they will be at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215.
Rich and Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service is in charge of the arrangements.

LILLINGTON - James Howard Davis, 72, of 2000 Raven Rock Road, died Sunday (6/1/03) at his residence.
Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Rock Springs Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, Raven Rock Road, Lillington.
Surviving are sisters, Mary Lee Tellis and Peggy Morgan, both of Lillington, and brothers, Eugene Davis and Jimmy McLean, both of Lillington, and Allan Davis of Salisbury.
The family will receive friends at the home of Mary L. Tellis, 2001 Raven Rock Road.
Arrangements are by Dafford Funeral Home.
CARRIE MCLEAN
LILLINGTON - Carrie McLean, 92, of 158 Mt. Olive Church Road, died Tuesday (6/3/03) at Central Carolina Hospital.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Olive United Methodist Church, Lillington, by Pastor Johnnie Wright. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Surviving are daughters, Mary Frances McLean, at home, Alice McCormick and Armelia Campbell, both of Lillington, Carolyn Jean Garner of Willow Springs and Vera Cox of Dunn; a son, Larry McLean of Sanford; and a brother, Archie McLean of Fayetteville; 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church. The family will receive friends at the residence.

SANFORD - Funeral for Charles Clinton "Clint" Headen Jr., of Sanford, who died Thursday (5/29/03), was held Tuesday at Harrington Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, Southern Pines, by Bishop Joseph A. Siler. Old Testament reading was given by deacon Carlton Thompson. New Testament reading was given by Bishop Robert McRae. Prayer was given by deacon Martin Goins. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery, Southern Pines.
Soloist was Teresa McLaughlin. The Harrington Chapel Mass Choir and the Voice of Prayer Praise Cathedral sang. Acknowledgment and obituary was read by Edna J. Goins. Remarks were by Father Ingraham.
Floralbearers were friends of the family.
Pallbearers were James Wallace, Gaston Matthews, Lamont Brazile, Gaston Matthews, Herman Currie, William Ross Jr., Terrell Corley, Paul Covington and Tyrone Wallace.
MURIEL BOLDUC
SANFORD - A memorial service for Muriel Cecil Levesque Bolduc, 68, of 687 Sheriff Watson Road, who died Monday (6/2/03), was held Wednesday at St. Stephen Catholic Church by the Rev. John Forbes and the Rev. Les Goodwin.
Organist was Rosa Lee Bonin. Cantor was Andrew Campbell. Soloist was Leslie Oldham. The congregation sang.
Another memorial service will be held at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Hershey, Pa., Friday. Burial will follow in the Fort Indian Town Gap Cemetery, Hershey.
HAROLD CONFAIR
SANFORD - A memorial service for Harold Leearn "Chuck" Confair, 59, of Sanford, who died Sunday, (6/1/03), was held Wednesday at the Cool Springs Baptist Church by the Rev. Ira Sutton and the Rev. Gerald Bridges. A private burial will follow at a later date.
The congregation sang. Soloists were the Rev. Bridges and Lisa Godwin. Organist was Frances Phillips. Pianist was Myra Cole.

SANFORD - Graveside service for Linda Carol Byrd Dollar, 58, of 714 Westover Drive, who died Sunday (6/1/03), was held Wednesday in Buffalo Cemetery by the Rev. Wyatt Coley.
Pallbearers were Dale Phillips, John Milici, Frank Lambert, Joey Lambert and John Buck Poe.

MONCURE - Funeral for Curtis Atlas Gunter, 61, of 242 Bottom Road, who died Friday (5/30/03), was held Wednesday at Knotts Funeral Home of Pittsboro by the Rev. Zenobia Crump. Old Testament reading was given by the Rev. Erwin Dowdy. New Testament reading was given by Pastor Berma Spinks. Prayer of comfort was given by Pastor Larry Ray. Burial followed in the Pittsboro Cemetery.
Soloists were Faye Hackney and Joyce Seymore. The church choir sang. Acknowledgments and remarks were given by Joyce Seymore.
Floralbearers and pallbearers were friends of the family.

CLARENCE FIELDS
GOLDSTON - Clarence Keith Fields, 45, of 2879 Roberts Chapel Road, died Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at his residence.
Mr. Fields was a native of Chatham County and was employed with Townsends Feed Mill, Bonlee, and was formerly employed with Construction Parts Equipment, Gulf. He was a graduate of Chatham Central High School and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Captain and Estelle Woody Fields.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Antioch Baptist Church, 3825 Bonlee-Carbonton Road, by Mike Wilkie. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Surviving are a brother, Bobby Fields of Goldston; sisters, Dorothy Sue Hinshaw and husband Kirt of Archdale and Cathy Ann Arnold of Sanford; a nephew, Hunter Hinshaw of Archdale; nieces, Wendy Hefner and husband Kenny of Wilkesboro, and Jessica Arnold of Sanford; and a great-niece, Molly Hefner of Wilkesboro.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at Smith and Buckner Funeral Home, 230 N. Second Ave., Siler City, and at other times at the family home.
