APEX - Funeral services for Donald Groh, 67, of Mockingbird Lane, Apex were conducted Tuesday at Pleasant Plains Baptist Church, Apex by the Rev. Kyle Copas. Burial followed at Sandhills Veterans Cemetery, Spring Lake.
Eulogies were given by family members. Marta Partridge was violinist. The Proclamation Trio and Trina Barnes sang.
Pallbearers were Harold R. Ginn Jr., Yvonne Marie Groh, Christopher Bender, Russel Smith, Robert Bender and Jonathan Bender.
Arrangements were by Smith Funeral Home.

SANFORD - Funeral services for Phillip Harvey Johnson, 34, who died Friday (12/24/04), were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Rogers Memorial Chapel by the Rev. James Bowden. Burial followed at Lee's Chapel Christian Church.
Taped music was played and poetry was read by the Rev. James Bowden.
Pallbearers were Charlie Johnson, Andy Hicks Sr., Timmy Johnson, Joseph VanSkiver, Lynn Evans and Jorge Matos.
Arrangements were by Rogers-Pickard Funeral Home.

SANFORD - Funeral services for Eugene Edward Duffell Sr., 82, who died Saturday (12/25/04), were conducted Tuesday at Rogers Memorial Chapel by the Rev. Del Parkerson and the Rev. Sharon UpDyke. Burial followed at Buffalo Cemetery.
The congregation and the Rev. Sharon UpDyke sang. Eugenia Thompson played the organ.
Pallbearers were Don Cline, Jack Wood, Hugh Lemons, Larry Barnhill, Zack Thompson and Paul Thomas.

CAMERON - Norman E. Smith, 73, of Cameron, died Tuesday (4/8/03) at his residence.

Sanford - Funeral for Helen Floyd Seymour, 87, of Sanford, who died Saturday (4/5/03), was held Monday at First Presbyterian Church by Dr. Carl Rush and the Rev. Rick Martindale. Burial followed in Buffalo Cemetery.
The church choir sang. Organist was David Almond.
Pallbearers were Anothy T. Burns, Benjamin G. Floyd III, Forrest R. Floyd, Steven C. Floyd, Glenn F. Price Jr. and Kenneth B. Price.
Honorary pallbearers were J. Fletcher Rosser, W.J. Brinn, Tommy C. Mann, Charles A. Ingram, A.M. Oelrich, Ralph Monger Jr. and J. Gordon Burns.
FRANCES WILLIAMS
SANFORD - Funeral for Frances Gross Williams, 59, of Sanford, who died Monday (3/31/03), was held Tuesday at Jones Chapel United Methodist Church by the Rev. Jack Hunter.
Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Pianist was Gerri Hearn. Teresa Pilson and Beth Yow sang.
Pallbearers were William Parries, Dale Parries-Fogerty, Brian Ragan, Darrell Ragan, Tony Ragan and Joe Spivey.
MARGARET WILLIAMSON
SANFORD - Funeral for Margaret Covert Williamson, 82, of Walnut Drive, who died Thursday (4/3/03), was held Sunday in the Casey Chapel at St. Luke United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Tom Loftis and the Rev. Michael Coppock. Burial followed in Buffalo Cemetery.
Organist was James Kimball. Soloist was Ben Matthews.
Pallbearers were Thomas Mullis, Jade Wicker, Ted Key, David Lloyd, Randall Strothers, Bruce Garner and Bill Parrish.
EUNICE DAVENPORT
SANFORD - Eunice Adams "Preacher" Davenport, of Sanford, died Wednesday (7/16/03) at home.
A native of Durham, she was a daughter of the late G.T. and Mary Gibbs Adams. She was a member of the St. Luke United Methodist Church for many years. She was a member of the Sanford Cotillion Club, Pierion Literary Club, Tuesday Bridge Club, Thursday Bridge Club and taught the third grade at McIver School for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Davenport, in 1991.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Luke United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Buffalo Cemetery.
She is survived by sons, John T. Davenport and wife Jean and Richard G. Davenport and wife Peggy, all of Sanford; a special friend, Jennie Partington; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends at 710 Stuart Drive on Friday immediately following the funeral service.

LILLINGTON - Walter Clifford Upchurch, 41, of Lillington, died Monday (7/7/03) in Orlando, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Calvin Upchurch, and grandfather, Walter C. Upchurch.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Harnett Memorial Park by the Rev. Bobby Revels.
He is survived by his children, Jeffrey Upchurch Wheeler of Apex and Ashley Upchurch of Garner; parents, Carolyn Coats Elkins and husband Ray of New Hill; and a brother, John Michael Upchurch and wife Pam of Clayton.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at O'Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home.

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Fronnie Taylor Foushee, 88, formerly of Lee County, died Tuesday (7/15/03), at home.
A native of Lee County, she was a daughter of the late Owen and Letha Taylor.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Lee Funeral Home in Little River/North Myrtle Beach. Burial will be in Southeastern Memorial Gardens.
She is survived by son, Rodney Foushee and wife Phyllis of North Myrtle Beach; a daughter, Debra Foushee of Little River; a brother, Wilbur Taylor of Charlotte; sisters, Barbara-Ann Maddox and Inell Taylor, both of Sanford; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at Lee Funeral Home.

FUQUAY-VARINA - Gary N. Senter, 51, of Fuquay-Varina, died Wednesday (7/16/03) at Western Wake Hospital.
He was an avid fisherman.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at O'Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Danny Jarman.
He is survived by his wife, Sadie Senter; a daughter, Crystal Senter of Angier; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Senter of Kipling; sisters, Annette Bennett of Kipling, Elaine and Karen Senter, both of Morehead City, and Sue Hubbard of Newport; brothers, Joe Senter of Youngsville, Darrell Senter of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Leroy Senter of Cary; and a granddaughter.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at O'Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home in Lillington and other time at home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Senter and a granddaughter.

ERWIN - Caroline Schiermeyer, 59, of Erwin, formerly of Monroe Township, N.J., died Wednesday (7/16/03) at home.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Aug. 16 at Bunnlevel Presbyterian Church by the Rev. James Randall.
She is survived by husband, Alfred Schiermeyer; four children, two sisters and a brother.
