A church service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Cameron Grove A.M.E. Zion Church in Broadway by the Rev. C.L. McDougald and the Rev. Jace Cox. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
There will be no wake.
She is survived by her mother, Clarabell Chubbs of Sanford; sons, Harry C. Chubbs and wife Dianne of Sanford and Jessie L. Cameron and wife Angie of McDonugh, Ga.; daughters, Clara Chubbs of Broadway and Rena Cameron-Ray and husband Randy of Bunnlevel; sisters, Sadie L. Blue of Broadway and Illa Paschall and husband James of Baltimore, Md; brothers, Harry McIver and wife Annie Ruth of Sanford, William Chubbs Jr. and wife Nurcell of California and John Robert Chubbs of Broadway and seven grandchildren.

LILLINGTON - Meta C. Adcock, 81, of 941 Grameta Lane, died Wednesday (7/16/03) at Duke Medical Center.
She was a member of Woodside United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Adcock Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Ann Benson. Burial will be in Willow Spring Primitive Baptist Church cemetery.
She is survived by daughters, Pat A. McKee of Lillington, Nell A. Hudson of Garner and Sue A. Horton of Jordan Lake; a sister, Treva C. Womble of New Hill; a brother, Aubrey M. Cox of Sanford; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Adcock Funeral Home.

SANFORD - Funeral service for Virginia Feaster, 68, of 1611 Tempting Church Road, who died Sunday (7/13/03), was held Wednesday at Oak Grove Holiness Church by Pastor Pearline McMillian. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Rev. Jonathan Hawes gave the Old Testament reading and the Rev. Tim Worthy read from the New Testament.
Rev. Lee Barrett gave the prayer of comfort. There were selections by Anita Dixon and Tammy Watson and acknowledgments by Faye Newby. Rev. Charles Page gave words of encouragement. Rev. Pearline McMillian gave the eulogy.
Floral bearers and pallbearers were friends of the family.

SANFORD - Funeral services for Pauline Wicker Brown, 82, of 69 Polly Lane, who died Monday (7/14/03), were held Wednesday at Antioch Baptist Church in Mamers by the Rev. Martin Groover and the Rev. Mike Oldham. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Soloist was Gloria Chastain. Pianist was Joey Holmes.
Pallbearers were Tony Brown, Rodney Brown, Gary Brown, Brandon Brown, Randy Whitaker and Bobby Sharpe.

DAVID BUCHANAN
DURHAM - Mr. David Buchanan, 35, died Monday afternoon. Mr. Buchanan was born in Orange County, the son of Phyllis Buchanan Connolly and the late David Michael Buchanan. He was employed as a painter.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Buchanan is survived by his wife, Sheryl Walker Buchanan; a daughter, Allison Buchanan; a sister, Rebecca Buchanan Cable; and his maternal grandmother, Mary N. Tilley.
Funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Clements Funeral Chapel in Durham, with Rev. Paul Jones officiating. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. in Buckhorn United Methodist Church cemetery in Moncure. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Clements Funeral Home in Durham.

RUBY SLOAN
SANFORD - Ruby Pattishall Sloan, 88, wife of the late N.P. Sloan, passed away at her home on Sunday, July 27, 2003.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leondias and Minnie Pattishall; her husband, N.P. Sloan; her sons, Bobby L. Sloan and Joe Dan Sloan; by a daughter, Patty Lou Sloan; and by two sisters, Pecola Mitchell and Allie Helms.
Funeral will be conducted today, July 30, 2003, at 4 p.m. at Zion Christian Church by Rev. Steve Johnson, Rev. John Paschal and Rev. Keith Miller. Burial will follow at Shallow Well Cemetery.
The body was carried from Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home to the family home located at 223 Eleventh St., Sanford, N.C. The family will receive friends at any time.

PITTSBORO - Bleach Iverson Johnson, 86, of Pittsboro, died Friday (10/10/03), at Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation in Siler City.
He was a native of Alamance County and worked for the sanitation department of Pittsboro for many years.
Funeral service was held Tuesday at St. Matthew's AME Zion Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Surviving are his sons, William Beach Nixon of Richmond, Va., and Stanley William Johnson of South Hill, Va.; a daughter, Ellen Joyce of Graham; a sister, Lester D. Woods of Graham; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

SANFORD - Funeral services for Virginia Cameron Graham, who died Monday (10/13/03), were held Thursday at Broadway Baptist Church by the Rev. Thomas Lee and the Rev. Clyde Johnson. Burial followed in the Broadway Town Cemetery.
John Glann sang a solo and the congregation sang. Organist was Kerry Glann and pianist was Cindy Buchanan.
Pallbearers were Hugh Cameron, Roddy Tempest, John Tempest, Dan Graham, Gary Cameron and Larry Phillips.

SANFORD - Funeral service for Mable C. Brumbay, 82, of Sanford, who died Friday (10/10/03), was held Thursday at Cameron Grove AME Zion Church, Broadway. Burial followed in the Womack family Cemetery, Broadway.
Old Testament reading was by the Rev. Eudora Womack and the New Testament reading was by the Rev. Annie Lee. Prayer of comfort was by the Rev. N.M. Douglas. Solo was by Renee Perry. Acknowledgments and resolutions were by Gary W. Cox. District condolences were by Dr. L. A. Miller. The Rev. C.L. McDougal gave the eulogy.
Floral bearers were Ollie McIver, Joann Cameron, Carolyn B. Cox, Diane Chubbs, Velour Bryant, Mary Douglas, Mary Womack, and Peggy Cox.

SANFORD - Leiver Soriano-Pacheco, 23, of 120 Marina Road, died Monday (10/13/03) at Central Carolina Hospital.
Funeral will be held in Oaxaca, Mexico, at a later date.
Surviving are his wife, Maria L. Salazar Pacheco; his mother and father, Julia Pacheco and Antonio Sariano of Oaxaca; brothers, Armando Soriano-Pacheco of Oaxaca, and Carlos Soriano-Pacheco of Sanford; and sisters, Sofia Soriano-Pacheco of Sanford and Rosalba Soriano-Pacheco of Oaxaca.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. today and Saturday at Watson Mortuary.
