SANFORD - Graveside service for Mary Hall Phillips, 83, of 5101 Timber Ridge Drive, who died Thursday (4/8/04) in Southport, was conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Lee Memory Gardens by the Rev. Billy Keith.
Recorded music was played.

DORIS SCHULTZ
SANFORD - Doris Chism Schultz, 71, died Monday (4/12/04) at Ashwood Estates.
Schultz was a native of Endicott, N.Y., and was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Bruce Schultz, and a son, Bruce Allen Schultz.
Schultz is survived by two sons, Joseph Schultz of Sanford, and Ronald and wife Marilyn Schultz of Holiday, Fla.; four daughters, Debbie Schultz of Sanford, Brenda S. and husband Charles Simpson of South Carolina, Patty and husband Todd Cusey of Tennessee, and Linda Schultz of North Carolina; numerous grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Memorial gifts may be made to Community Home Care and Hospice, 1602 Westover Drive, Sanford, N.C. 27330.

SANFORD - Becky Powell Roth, 43, of 710 McNeill Road, Sanford, died Saturday (4/10/04).
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Surviving are husband, Wayne Howard Roth of the home; son, Robert Douglas Powell II of Fuquay-Varina; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Douglas Powell of Fuquay-Varina; brother, Timothy Douglas Powell and wife Jane of Fuquay-Varina; sisters, Eva Lynn Daniels and husband Jeff of Fuquay-Varina, and Debra Jayne Hardison and husband Clarence of Indianapolis, Ind.
Roth was preceded in death by husband John D. Ellis.

ISABELLE MURPHY
BROADWAY - Isabelle Ocheltree Murphy, 74, of 703 Burgess Circle, Broadway, died Saturday (4/10/04) at the residence.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Holy Church Of God In Christ, Lillington, by the Rev. Sampson Davis. Burial at Lee Memory Gardens, Sanford.
Visitation from 7 to 8 p.m. April 14 at Watson Mortuary.
Surviving are husband, Elder John Murphy of Broadway; sons, Thomas Earl Murphy of Broadway and Harold Lee Murphy of Apex; daughters-in-law, Fanny Davis Murphy of Lillington, Lucy Deberry Murphy of Raleigh and Brenda Faye Pearson Murphy of Broadway; 20 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by parents, Atlas & Mamie Lanier Ocheltree, children, Milton Murphy, John Archie Murphy Jr., David Murphy, Barbara Jean Bailey and Betty Jean Murphy.
CHRISTINA ROBERTSON
SANFORD - Christina Bradley Robertson, 75, died Monday (4/12/04) at Central Carolina Hospital.
Memorial services will be conducted at 5 p.m. Friday at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Danny Redman. The family will receive friends following the service.
Mrs. Robertson was a native of Evanston, Ill., and a daughter of the late Paul L. Bradley and Roberta Gordon Bradley. She was a graduate of Northwestern University of Chicago, Ill. She loved nature and was a courageous and strong individual, and was a creative artist whose heartfelt love for the Lord ran deep. She was a devout Presbyterian and a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. She was a retired bookkeeper for Aerospace Manufacturing.
Mrs. Robertson is survived by three daughters, Cathy Mary Westwood of Kona, Hawaii; Christy Eagle Horse of Long Beach, Calif.; and Cathleen and husband Kenneth Clack of Sanford; seven grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Lee County Unit, 11 S. Boylan Avenue, Raleigh, N.C. 27603.

LEHMAN BARFIELD JR.
CARTHAGE - Lehman N. Barfield Jr., 67, died Friday (8/06/04) at his home.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. today at Cross Hill Cemetery, Carthage, conducted by the Rev. Percy Cunningham.
A native of Greene County, he was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He retired as maintenance supervisor at Whispering Pines Country Club. He was a NASCAR fan and participated in various motorsports.
Survivors are his wife, "Frankie" Greene Barfield; daughters Alvina Street of Charlotte and Sounda Beamon of Goldsboro; sons Lehman N. Barfield III and Dustin N. Barfield of the home; sisters Marie Cunningham and Sally Whitley, both of Lagrange; and five grandchildren.
The family received friends from Saturday evening at Fry & Pickett Funeral Home.
RUTH TURLINGTON
LILLINGTON - Ruth Autry Turlington, 79, of Lillington, died Friday (8/06/04) at her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wiley Meredith and Nell Coleman Autry, and husband, Gordon Keith Turlington.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Lillington Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Morris officiating. Burial will be at Harnett Memorial Park in Lillington.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at O'Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Rodney and LuAnn Turlington.
Survivors are sons: Palmer Turlington and wife, Nancy, Rodney Turlington and wife, LuAnn, and Ricky Turlington and wife, Cheri, all of Lillington; daughters: Barbara McKay and husband, Bill, of Kenansville, Rita Flowers and husband, Eric, of Lillington, Rose White of Lillington and Robin Kearines of Tarboro; brother, Mickey Autry and wife, Mary, of Stem; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Lillington Baptist Church.

WILLIAM SPIVEY JR.
SANFORD - William Isaac "Ike" Spivey Jr., died Friday (8/06/04) at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Miller-Boles Funeral Home Chapel with Don Waters and Doris Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow at Carbonton United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Sunday evening at Miller-Boles Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Ricky Black, 3200 Lemon Springs Road.
During his life, Spivey had worked for J.T. Davenport and as a tour coordinator. In recent years, he was most noted for his work compiling statistical information on the veterans of Lee County as well as being an avid student of genealogy.
He is survived by sisters Margaret Stone and Faye George, both of Sanford, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Community Home Care and Hospice, 1602 Westover Drive, Sanford, N.C. 27330.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Ethel V. Jordan, 97, formerly of Sanford, died Saturday (8/07/04) in Gainesville, Fla.

CAMERON - Funeral services for J. Frank Kelly, 73, of Cameron, who died Friday (8/06/04) were conducted at 7 p.m. Saturday in the Rogers Memorial Chapel by the Rev. Misty Mowery.
During the service, Johnny Holder played the organ and the Trailblazers Quartet sang.
