GREENVILLE - Pamela Kaye Watson Mayo, 46, of 207 Hardee Circle, died Friday (4/4/03).
She was a graduate of N.C. Wesleyan University and a member of Wells Chapel Church.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Wells Chapel Church. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Dallas Mayo, at home; daughters, Erica Danielle Mayo of Greensboro and Melissa Deanna Mayo, at home; her mother, Queen Esther Blue of Sanford; sisters, Betty Bagley, Mollie Blue, and Marilyn Brown, all of Sanford, and Margie Fox of Charlotte; and brothers, James Blue of Los Angeles and Benjamin Taylor of St. Louis.

MELVIN OWENS
SEAGROVE - Melvin Lee Owens, 85, of 3756 Busbee Road, died Saturday (4/5/03) at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.
A native of Moore County, he was a master potter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Garner Owens, and a daughter, Viola Owens Brady.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Needham Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. James E. Cockram and the Rev. Brent Bolick. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He is survived by sons, Bobbie Owens and wife Emily of Robbins, Vernon Owens and wife Pam of Seagrove and Boyd Owens of Seagrove; daughters, Hilda O. Peterson of Durham, Lula O. Bolick and husband Glenn of Blowing Rock, Ina O. Bolick and husband Dell of Blowing Rock and Nancy O. Brewer and husband Gary of Seagrove; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family received friends Monday at Kennedy Funeral Home in Robbins and other times at the home.

SOUTHERN PINES - Eula H. Evick, 89, of Southern Pines, died Saturday (4/5/03) at home.
A native of Jackson County, she was a daughter of the late William and Sarah Sawyer Hoyle. She was a homemaker.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Pinelawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel.
She is survived by her husband, Walter P. Evick; daughters, Paulette Schroeder of Sanford and Sharon Andrew of Greensboro; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

SUMMERVILLE, S.C.- Ethel Day Hill, 89, of Summerville, widow of William H. Hill, died Monday, April 7, 2003.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Summerhill Baptist Church, Carthage, N.C. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at Fry & Prickett Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. today.
Mrs. Hill was born Feb. 24,1914, in Hammet Valley, Idaho, a daughter of the late George Day and Sarah Kellogh Day.
She was a graduate of Hammet Valley School in Idaho. She was a member of the Summer Hill Baptist Church in Carthage, where she belonged to the Ladies Circle and the choir, and was a Sunday school teacher. She retired from Quality Mills as a supervisor.
She is survived by sons, Dix Richardson of Westlake, Ore., the Rev. William M. Hill of Brevard, N.C., and the Rev. Dr. John H. Hill of Summerville; grandsons, Joshua Hill of Lafayette, Ind., Caleb Hill of Brevard, Brent Richardson of New York, N.Y., and Marc Richardson of San Francisco; and granddaughters, Kara Hill of Brevard, Lindy Hill and Kaylee Hill, both of Summerville, and Kim Bishop of Florence, Ore., and four great-grandchildren.

LOIS SCOTT
SILER CITY - Lois Brady Scott, 93, of 7166 Jordan Road, Ramseur, formerly of Siler City, died Tuesday (7/15/03) at Universal Healthcare, Ramseur.
A native of Chatham County, she was member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church and attended First Wesleyan Church. She was a member of the Ladies Bible Class. She was retired from A.J. Schneierson and Son. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry T. Scott, and a son, Cleo Scott.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Wesleyan Church, 608 N. Third St., by the Rev. Ray Gooch and the Rev. Kevin Stumbo. Burial will be in Chatham Memorial Park.
She is survived by a son, James D. Scott and wife Faye of Huntersville; daughters, Nellie S. Haith and husband Wilbert, Nancy S. Hogan and husband Arnold and Elizabeth S. Glass and husband Hurley, all of Siler City, and Lessie S. Straughn and husband Ikey of Pittsboro; a daughter-in-law, Wanda Scott of Raleigh; a sister-in-law, Lucy Powers of Asheboro; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 N. Second Ave., Siler City, and at other times at the home of the daughter, Nancy Hogan, 927 W. Sixth St., Siler City.

LILLIAN WEBSTER
SANFORD - Lillian May Webster, 90, of Sanford, died Monday at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.
She was a daughter of the late Harry Lee and Lucille Anna Humphrey Evans and was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie D. Webster, and a sister, Winona Shields.
She was a resident of Lee County from the mid-40s until 1971 and was employed for 17 years at Cornell-Dublier Electronics as a quality control supervisor. She and her husband moved to Atlantic Beach, and after his death in 1977, she moved to Morehead City where she was a volunteer in her church, The Meals on Wheels Program, Hospice and Martha's Mission Cupboard. While in Lee County, she was a member of the Shallow Well United Church of Christ, then a member of First Methodist Church of Morehead City and most recently a member of Goldston UMC.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Miller-Boles Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Jerry Parson and the Rev. Donnie Thompson. Burial will be in Buffalo Cemetery.
She is survived by sons, Richard L. Webster of Germany, Robert B. Webster of California, Donald K. Webster of Sanford, Roger T. Webster of Titado, La., and David Webster of Winston-Salem; daughters, Shirley Anne Wicker of Mocksville, Vickie W. Strickland of Carolina Beach and Mary Jo Thomas of Broadway; a sister, Louise Clipper of Bowie, Md.; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

SANFORD - Viola Ash Elliott, 56, of Sanford, died Monday (7/14/03) at home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Percy and Viola Archery Ash. She was a spinner at Cone Mills in Greensboro.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the Rogers Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in the Rocky Fork Christian Church cemetery.
She is survived by a daughter, Payton Ezzell and her husband Curtis, and a granddaughter, all of Sanford.

LILLINGTON - Josephine Daniels Beck, 86, of Lillington, formerly of Fayetteville, died Monday (7/14/03) at Brookfield Retirement Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, E. Lamar Beck.

She is survived by a son, Frank Beck of Iowa; a daughter, Beverly Seiling and husband Tom of Marathon, Fla.; and two grandchildren.

SILER CITY - Funeral service for Audrey White, 89, of 4434 Alston Bridge Road, who died Friday (7/11/03), was held Monday at Gees Grove AME Zion Church.
Minister Arnold Headen read the Old Testament and evangelist Jackie Headen read the New Testament. Bobby Mitchell and Derez White accompanied by evangelist Steve White presented musical selections.
Floral bearers were Judy Currie, Jennifer Goins, Janice Marsh, Christie McNair, Jeanetta Shamburger, Tamika White, LaVonda Farrar, Teresa Dale Lynch, LaRita Mason, Karen Renee Miller, Zanetta White-Mason and Terri White.
Pallbearers were Eric Jeffries, Levan Lunsford, Eddie W. Martin, Anthony McNair, John White Jr., Myron White, Rodney White and Tony White.
