OSCAR FOUSHEE
SANFORD - Oscar T. "O.T." Foushee, of 1912 Knollwood Drive, died Tuesday (11/18/03) at Central Carolina Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday at Fair Promise A.M.E. Zion Church by the Rev. Sherwin O. Greene. Interment will follow at Lee Memory Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Edna W. Foushee, at home; daughters, Joyce F. Hawkins and husband Ronnie of Sanford and Wanda F. Reives of Raleigh; a son, Charles Foushee and wife Sue of Camp Hill, Pa.; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the home.

L.L. BECKHAM
SANFORD - L.L. Beckham, 98, of 1801 Wicker St., died Monday (11/17/03) at Parkview Retirement Home.
He was born and raised in Fairfield County, S.C., the son of Myrtle Parks and Lee Dixon Beckham.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1928 and attained the rank of major. He served in World War II and retired from active duty in 1948. He was a 32nd-degree Mason and was a former civil defense contractor for Sanford and Lee County for 12 years. He was the founder and former operator of Mini-Haul Inc. in Sanford.
He was preceded in death by his wife of more than 50 years, Mattie Harriett Bullock Beckham.
Survivors include daughters, Felicia Beckham Baldwin of Chapel Hill and Lona Beckham Maupin of Memphis; a sister, Althea Hastings of Liberty Hill, S.C.; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchildren.
A graveside service with full military rites will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Buffalo Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.
CURTIS WOMBLE
PITTSBORO - Curtis Britton Womble, 85, of 2210 Van Thomas Road, died Monday (11/17/03), at Sun Bridge Care Facilities in Siler City.
A native of Chatham County, he was a member of Rives Chapel Baptist Church and was a World War II Army veteran. He was retired from John Wilson and Sons, Mebane, as a heavy equipment operator.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona Lindley Womble.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at South Fork Friends Church, 359 South Fork-Bethel Road, Snow Camp, by the Rev. Ronn Oren and Windred Crouse. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He is survived by sisters, Doris W. Coble of Alamance and Pat W. McLaurin of Siler City; a sister-in-law, Elsie M. Lindley of Silk Hope; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home in Siler City and other times at the home of the sister-in-law, Elsie M. LIndley, 2460 Van Thomas Road, Pittsboro.

WALLY BECHTEL
LUCEDALE, Miss. - Wally Bechtel, 53, of 174 E. Wilkerson Ferry Road, formerly of Lee County, N.C., died Sunday (11/16/03) at home.
A native of Lee County, he was preceded in death by his father, William Bechtel.
A memorial service will be held at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home Chapel in Sanford, N.C., by the Rev. Billy Crabtree. The family will receive freinds following the service.
He is survived by his wife, Vickie Bechtel; daughters, Kristi Kremer of Sanford and Katrina Bechtel of Fairfield, Calif.; mother, Shirley Crickmore Hoskins of Sanford; stepdaughters, Teri Stringer and Brooke Pittmen, both of Lucedale, Miss.; brothers, Bill Bechtel of Sanford and Michael Bechtel of Cary, N.C.; two grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren.

SILER CITY - Selma Andrews Grimes, 80, of 63 Pine Forest Drive, died Saturday (11/15/03) at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
A native of Chatham County, she was retired from Chatham Foods after 40 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Siler City Order of Easter Star No. 9 and the Bid-N-Bye Bridge Club.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at First Baptist Church by the Rev. Jim Wall. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Francis H. Grimes, a brother-in-law, Jerry Grimes and wife Jane, and several nieces and nephews, all of Siler City.

J. HARVEY OLDHAM
BENNETT - J. Harvey Oldham, 72, of 74 Howards Mill Road, died Saturday (11/15/03) at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
He was a native of Moore County, an Army veteran and a retired loom fixer with Ramlex in Ramseur. He was a member of Bennett Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Bennett Baptist Church by the Rev. Tim Strider, the Rev. Edsel Caviness, the Rev. Robert Kidd and John Phillips. Burial was in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth McNeill Oldham, at home; a son, Danny Oldham of Bennett; mother, Bessie M. Oldham of Glendon; a sister, Wilsie Dalton of Blackstone, Va.; brothers, Charlie and Walter Oldham of Bear Creek, Tommy Oldham of Robbins and Russell Oldham of Siler City; and a grandson.

SANFORD - Ianth Ann Puryear Holder, 69, of Sanford and formerly of Lillington, died Friday (1/9/03) at Central Carolina Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Blue Holder, and brothers, Rayon, Brice and W.A. Puryear Jr.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today at Union United Methodist Church, Lillington, with the Revs. Curtis Norris and Hyung Kim. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Survivors include daughters, Shirley Eads and husband Gary of Sanford, Debbie Garner and husband David of Newport, Pam Alexander and husband Keith of Jacksonville and Regina Reaves and husband Cliff of Wilmington; a son, Larry Arnold Holder and wife Janet of Broadway; a brother, Breland Puryear of Spring Lake; sisters, Hortense Holder, Thadean Moore and Joyce Holder, all of Broadway; and six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

FOUR OAKS - Albert Ray Poole, 68, of 3113 King Mill Road, died Friday (1/9/03) at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Smithfield.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Rose and Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery, Benson. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today.
He was born Oct. 7, 1935, in Lee County, the son of William and Mary Dowdy Poole. He was a retired auto mechanic and was in the National Guard. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Sanford.
Survivors include his wife, Eloise Parker Poole; daughters, Wanda Thompson and husband Mark of Knightdale, Deborah Jernigan and husband Wayne of Raleigh and Odena Kellam and husband Richard of Cameron; sons, Steven Poole and wife Retha of Sanford and Timothy Poole and wife Charlene of Clayton; a brother, Glenn Poole of Sanford; and 16 grandchildren.
