SANFORD - Funeral services were held for Helen Williams Gunter at 2 p.m. Saturday (1/10/04) at Asbury United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Foushee officiating.
The choir and congregation sang.
Lynn Gunter, Steve Williams, Walter Rhodes, Darrell Gunter, Ray Gunter and Benny Rhodes served as pallbearers.
Services were conducted by Miller-Boles Funeral Home.

SANFORD - Funeral services for Shelby Jean Patterson, who died Wednesday (1/7/04) were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Miller-Boles Funeral Home Chapel. The Revs. Robert Davis and Eugene Powers officiated. Burial was in Center United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Roland Patterson, Neal Lovitt, Wallace Patterson III, Ray Lovitt, James Earl Mason and Joey Preston.
Music was provided by Four Heart Harmony. Don Waters was the organist.
Arrangements were by Miller-Boles Funeral Home.
OSSIE KELLY
SANFORD- Funeral services for Ossie Blakley Kelly, 81, who died Thursday (1/8/04), were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rocky Fork Christian Church. The Rev. Misty Mowrey officiated. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mowrey was soloist and Shelia Donathan was pianist.
Pallbearers were Ronald Kelly, Daryl Kirby, Jeb Shook, Bryon Phillips, Jeff Berry and Wade Godfrey.
Arrangements were by Rogers-Pickard Funeral Home.
ALICE STEWART
SANFORD - Funeral services for Alice Rowles Steward, 80, of Gray Fox Lane, who died Wednesday (1/7/04) at Central Carolina Hospital, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Morris Chapel United Methodist Church. The Rev. Ray Brooks officiated. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Margaret McDonald played and the congregation sang.
Arrangements were by Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
FRANK WILKINSON
MOORESVILLE - The Rev. Frank Calvin Wilkinson, of Heritage Place, Mooresville, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center, Mooresville.
Born April 27, 1924, he was a son of the late Boyce and Delphia Galliher Wilkinson. Mr. Wilkinson was a graduate of Landis High School, a 1947 graduate of Davidson College, Davidson, N.C., and Columbia Theological Seminary, Decatur, Ga., in 1951. He was ordained in the Biscoe Presbyterian Church, July 22, 1951. While there, he helped organize the Star Presbyterian Church.
He served pastorates in Biscoe, Fayetteville and Flat Branch Presbyterian Church, Bunnlevel, Lillington and Southern Pines area, and Calvary at Davidson, and Sherrills Ford. He retired from the White Hill Presbyterian Church, Sanford, on April 30, 1986, after serving 35 years in the active ministry of the Presbyterian Church, USA. He continued to supply churches when called upon. He was a member of Salem Presbytery, active in Mooresville Area Ministerial Association, Community Chorus and Mooresville Area Bible Teachers Association. He was a substitute teacher in the Mooresville School System. He served on numerous Presbytery committees during his ministry.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Wilkinson.
Mr. Wilkinson is survived by his wife, Celeste Brotherton Wilkinson, whom he married June 8, 1952; two brothers, Allen and wife Charleen and Barnett and wife Catherine of Mooresville; and sister, Violet La Shomb and husband Don of Charlotte.
Services for Rev. Wilkinson will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, 2004, at Prospect Presbyterian Church, Mooresville, with Rev. Joanne Hull, Rev. Ike Kennerly, and Dr. S. Edwin Lewis in charge. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville, and also following the service in the church fellowship hall.

LOYCE BROWN
SANFORD - Loyce Mansfield Brown, of Sanford, died Sunday (1/11/04) at Central Carolina Hospital.
A native of Lee County, she was the daughter of the late Bernice and Leena Buchanan Mansfield. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Ernest Brown. She was a member of the Congregational Christian Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rogers Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Buffalo Cemetery.
She is survived by a daughter, Melba Brown Lee of Greenville, S.C.; a son, Bobby Brown and wife Sara Cole Brown of New Bern; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

WILMA WEBB
LILLINGTON - Wilma Strickland Webb, 65, of Lillington, died Sunday (1/11/04) at Betsy Johnson Hospital in Dunn.
She was a daughter of the late Eric B. and Bernetta Ray Strickland. She was preceded in death by a brother, Angus Ray Strickland. She enjoyed flowers and gardening. In addition to being a homemaker, she owned and operated Four Seasons Florist for more than 20 years.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Harmony Baptist Church in Bunnlevel by the Rev. Carl Graham and the Rev. Grady Edwards. Burial will be in Harnett Memorial Park.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, B.F. Webb; a son, Timmy Franklin Webb and wife Pam of Fuquay-Varina; a daughter, Kathy Byrd and husband Duane of Bunnlevel; sisters, Pat Temple and Delores Carroll, both of Bunnlevel; a brother, Otis Strickland of Bunnlevel; sister-in-law, Audrey Strickland of Bunnlevel; six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at O'Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home.

SANFORD - Nancy Janice Powell, of Carolina Trace, died Sunday (1/11/04).
She was a former teacher at Greenwood Elementary School
Services will be held at a later date.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne Powell; her parents, John and Elaine Shaw of Sanford, and a brother, John A. Shaw of Corpus Christi, Texas.

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Hattie Mae Cooper, 86, formerly of Vass, N.C., died Wednesday (1/7/04) at the Florida Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Frye Chapel F.W.B. Church in Vass. There will be no wake.
She is survived by children, James and Sallie of New York and Dorothy of Florida; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Willie Dancy of North Carolina; a sister, Ida Dickens of Virginia; and many nieces and nephews.

LILLINGTON - Funeral services for Ianth Ann Puryear Holder, 69, of Lillington, who died Friday (1/9/04), were conducted Sunday at Union United Methodist Church by Pastor Curtis Norris and Pastor Hyung Kim. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Pianist was Ruth Ann Thomas. Vocalists were Ronnie and Mae Cox and the Rev. Norris.
Pallbearers were Ray Moore, Tony Holder, Steve Holder, Henry Randolph, Chris Puryear, Chad Puryear, Buddy Harrelson and Gary Trull.

SANFORD - Graveside service for Edgar Kenneth Swart, 73, of 3018 Kendale Drive, who died Thursday (1/8/04), was conducted Sunday at Harnett Memorial Cemetery by the Rev. Vinney Hessman.
Pallbearers were Doug Guest, Kenneth Richardson, David Jackson, Douglas Jackson, Harvey Slade and Joseph Jackson.
MAXINE MEASAMER
SANFORD - Funeral services for Maxine Audrey McNeill Measamer, who died Thursday (1/8/04), were held Sunday at Broadway United Methodist Church by the Rev. Ray Brooks. Burial followed in Shallow Well Church cemetery.
A duet was sung by Gene McNeill and Tommy Holder. Stephanie McRae also sang.
