SANFORD - Funeral service for George Robert Fox, 55, of 4100 Jefferson Davis Highway, who died Monday (1/5/04), was held Saturday at Robinson Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church.
Old Testament was read by the Rev. Bruce Petty. New Testament was read by the Rev. McCallister, who also gave the prayer. Solos were by Stephanie Fox and Toya Jordan. Acknowledgements and obituary were presented by Emma Bester. The Mt. Nebo Choir sang. Pianist was Jessie Petty and guitarist was Thomas Fox. Rev. Curtis Boykin gave the eulogy. Interment was in Minter Cemetery.
Floral bearers were friends of the family.
Pallbearers were Sam Petty, Steve Covington, Larry Goins, Edward Battle, Jimmie Carnegie and Victor Boykins.

SANFORD - Funeral service for Jennie Mae Spears, 78, of Sanford, who died Monday (1/5/04), was held Sunday at New Zion Baptist Church.
Old Testament was read by Minister Linda Spears. New Testament was read by Evangelist Linwood Melvin Jr. Prayer was by the Rev. Thomas Smith. Acknowledgements were by Rhonda Crawley. Remarks by Frazier Spears, the Rev. Charles Williams and the Rev. Gerome Williams. Resolution by Inez Foxx. Soloist was Ta'shiva Green. Eulogy was by the Rev. Charles White. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Floral bearers were Shenia Jones, Donna McNair, Emma Bester, Marie Steele, Catherine Edwards, Madrue Jennings and Marie McGilvary.

EARL TAYLOR
CAMDEN, S.C. - Funeral services for Earl James Tylor 79, of Camden, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, at Wateree Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Quaker Cemetery. The Rev. Everett Reconnu will officiate.
Mr. Taylor died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2004. Born in Kershaw, he was the son of the late Luther and Sarah Hunter Taylor. A World War II U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Pacific Theatre, Mr. Taylor was retired from DuPont. He was a member of Wateree Baptist Church where he was a past deacon and a Sunday school teacher.
Surviving are his wife, Willie Branham Taylor; daughters, Kathy T. Counts and her husband Karl of Simpsonville, Kim T. Hanzlik and her husband Tom of Blythewood, Kay T. Wells and her husband Richard of Sanford, N.C.; a son, Kevin J. Taylor and his wife, Ann Marie of Camden; four grandchildren; brothers, L.T. Taylor of Lugoff, Cecil Taylor of Camden, Walter Taylor of Spartanburg and Barney Taylor of Lugoff.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Doc, Melvin, John and Leroy Taylor.

HUBERT BRYANT
ROXBORO - Hubert Wesley Bryant, 82, of 60 Bowling Road, died Saturday (1/10/04) at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Bryant was a native of Person County and a son of the late William Thomas and Betty Elizabeth Clayton Bryant. He was the owner and operator of Country Boys Produce since 1984, a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Roxboro Church of God.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2004, at the Roxboro Church of God by the Rev. J. Harold Palmer, Sherman Lester, Connor Lambert and the Rev. Ray Loftis. Burial will follow in Person Memorial Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Collins Bryant, at home; sons, Danny Bryant and wife Carol of Douglasville, Ga., Terry Bryant of High Point, Bobby Bryant of South Boston, Va., Michael Bryant and fiancé Diana of Salisbury and Jerry Bryant, at home; a daughter, Peggy Owen and husband James of Halifax, Va.; a brother, Wallace Bryant and wife Bobby Jean of Sanford; a sister, Marlean B. Hatcher Loftis and husband Ray of Clover, S.C.; grandchildren, Sherri Lynn Bryant, Travis James Owen, Casey Brandon Owen, Jordan Bryant, Audrey Bryant and Jared Kindlespire; loving mother-in-law, Thelma Collins of Roxboro; a great host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Dennis Oakley, Brent Shaw, Ernie Tate, Dave Bradsher, Casey Owen, Steve Wallace, Travis Owen and Ed Lee.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Harris, Doug Clayton, Alan Lee and Dwayne Clayton.

BROADWAY - Paul Moore Magill Sr., 87, of 116 Magill Drive, died Sunday (2/8/04).
A native of Lancaster County, S.C., he was a son of the late John Fraser Magill and Lula Hammond Magill. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Broadway Baptist Church by the Rev. Clyde Johnson. Burial will follow in Broadway Town Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Moore Magill; a daughter, Nancy M. Smith and husband Timothy W. of Tennessee.; sons, James R. Magill and wife Barbara of Dale City, Va., Paul Moore Magill Jr. and wife Brenda of Dadeville, Ala., George H. Magill and wife Sarah of Broadway and Jeff B. Magill and wife Michelle of Raleigh; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

SANFORD - Rodney Flack Johnson Harrill, 88, of Sanford, died Sunday (2/8/04) at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
A native of Wake County, she was a daughter of the late Jarvis E. and Lula Thomas Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Odell O. Harrill. Sr.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today at First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Buffalo Cemetery.
She is survived by sons, O.O. Harrill Jr. and Rodney J. Harrill, both of Sanford, and Charles E. Harrill of Connecticut; a sister, Ruth J. Coster of Citrus Heights, Calif.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Nancy Colville; husband, Wyatt McDonald; a sister, Vera Arnold; brothers, Floyd, Thomas, Earl and Fred Colville; a grandson and a great-grandson.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today at O'Quinn-Peebles Chapel in Lillington by the Rev. Burt Pitchford and the Rev. Roy McLamb. Burial will be in the Flat Branch Presbyterian Church cemetery.
She is survived by daughters, Joyce Annis of Evansville, Ind., Martha Coleman of Coats and Teresa Smith and husband Steve of Lillington; a son, Donnie McDonald of Bunnlevel; brothers, Erwin Colville of Lillington, Robert Colville of Dunn and J.D. Colville and wife Connie of Linden; a sister, Nancy Faulkner of Independence, Ky.; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

SILER CITY - Shellie Lynn Collins Sanders, 23, of 611 Buck Gunter Road, died Sunday (2/8/04) at Chatham Hospital.
She was a native of Moore County.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Clifton Sanders; a daughter, Addasun Jalynnn Sanders; father, Ray Wayne Collins and wife Danielle; mother, Mona Barber Teague; grandmother, Myrtle Anderson of Vass; stepgrandmother, Barbara Lewellen of Southern Pines; brothers, Jermey Wayne Collins of Siler City and Jim Lane of Robbins; and sisters, Amanda Rae Collins and Melanie Faye Collins, both of Siler City, and Heather Reynolds of Robbins.
